Lisbon is high on my list purely down to the series “Somebody Feed Phil” on Netflix. He also ate at Ponto Final. Looked incredible. If you’ve not seen the series, at least have a look for that Lisbon episode. Certainly looks like a foodies heaven over there

I've watched a lot of his episodes, as he visits some great places...however he has to be one of the most irritating people ever to watch.

I love watching Antony Bourdain as well. Again some great experiences. Honest as well.

As for Portugal, as everyone has said, fabulous seafood at incredible prices.

Had the best ever Turbot in Alvor. Simply BBQd with lemon and butter outside the restaurant.

And cooked the freshest sardines on an up turned lobster pot, under a fire on the beach. Fresh lemon, chilled vino Verde and super bock, watching the sun go down. Lives long in the memory.

    And who can't resist a Portuguese tart....😁

You’re determined to tell us all how “wound up” and “triggered” we all are.

Yet we’re all calmly and articulately debate the issue, while you’re getting all angry and telling people to “**** off”.

Perhaps ponder that for a second.

Perhaps we should all have a group hug and discuss our anxiety, die our hair blue and enjoy some soya, without mansplayingof course or showing any bit passion. I'll bring my guitar and we can learn Kumbeya together. FFS...same old wet wipes. 🙈🤷😂

What a reasonable argument. True colours shown, oh the irony.

Mate...you are fully triggered. How many posts on the subject. ...did someone shit on your falafel this morning. Kinnel...reminds me of a screaming unicorn...🦄 It's all the Tories fault..it's the media...the culture wars.

I don't feel my nation is represented by a piece of Chinese made cloth, designed by an American company.

I feel it is represented by the behaviours, values and actions of its people.

A tiny detail on a sport shirt I won't buy doesn't really affect my view.

...Manning has jerked his behaviours over you as well. ' Behaviours'...behave. Talk about brainwashed.

Might as well get rid of the City badge as well then on our shirts. As it represents us. But no...you want the team represented by it's fans behaviours..

Oh, so it’s only the colour that matters? Not the form? You think the stars aren’t an important part of the American flag?

I’m disappointed Starmer has said anything. He shouldn’t have risen to it. Doesn’t mean the root cause isn’t a right wing agenda.

And if you can’t see how the right wing press and Tories are driving a culture war, then I pity you. It’s literally all they have left now. I’m bringing politics into it because it’s relevant to the debate and it is the root of where this utterly mindless debate has come from.

Why “should” people be proud of a flag? Why can’t they just not care about stuff that makes no material difference to their lives?

Were you outraged in 2011 @spudski? If not why not? Was it because the press didn’t mention it maybe?

If you'd read my posts you'd understand I'm not ' outraged'.

And you've proved my point. You aren't proud of the flag and that it represents us as a nation.

What's even sadder...for every topic like this, people like you and others, get so wound up and triggered by other people who have minds of their own who express an opinion. You go out of your way to find examples and spout your hatred to anything considered nationalistic as Tory, media and culture war led.

It's the likes of yourself that gets the most triggered.

I dislike the Tories. It has nothing to do with politics.

I feel sorry for people like you.

There are plenty of things that evidence our standards dropping but a flag on the back of a shirt, really?!

Perhaps the England flag means nothing to you.

But yes really. It's our national shirt and represents us. It's our flag.

With your mentality it gives the go ahead to interfere with flags of other nations as well. Before you know it, all flags will be changed in colours.

Here’s the American Airlines logo. It captures the essence of the American flag, but it’s an artistic variation of it - there are no stars. Brands play with familiar iconography like this all the time. In this instance they’ve just played with the cross to align with the colour scheme of the shirt. So what?

A ridiculous fuss over nothing by people who care far too much about things that don’t matter, stoked by the utterly tedious Tory and right wing media-driven culture wars.

It's red white and blue FFS.🤷🙈

And you describe everything that's wrong with this country, by bringing politics into it and mentioning culture wars.

All people should be proud of the flag and it's colours. Regardless of politics and culture.

Sadly anything like this is now seen as right wing and Tory driven.

    A ridiculous situation.

Your statement is clearly made to provoke.

Funnily it's Starmer asking Nike to re think. So you look a clown right now by saying it's Tory driven.

Are you saying the left aren't proud of their flag?

  7. I don't think anyone is outraged anymore. It's just another case of rolling eyes at the drip drip drip of everyday standards dropping.

Is it done by accident or by design.

By design obviously. But for what reason? What are they trying achieve?

Someone in the planning procedure did it for a reason. By changing the flag to different colours, to represent what?

Would they do the same to say the US flag?

A statement by that/those person/s as to the reason, would clear up any misunderstanding.

Any idea what the event actually is?

They have the description below. . . .

We are just about to launch the UK’s biggest retro football shirt convention, we knew Aston Gate which will be the  perfect venue to host!
We think this would be a great new addition to the city and will bring the football community together to celebrate this unique event for fans of all ages.

Our idea includes vendors from all over the country showcasing their finest collection of football shirts, memorabilia and boots while showing the football on the big screen including interactive games for the ultimate Super Sunday!

    What to expect,

Sunday football games on the big screen
•Retro football games shirts, football memorabilia vintage boots & trainer vendors
•Raffles with every football match shown
    •Pub games
    •FIFA tournaments
    •Independent food vendors
    •Dj’s
    •Good beer
    •& much more

But from the various tickets available it appears there are games happening, though doesn't indicate whether you are watching or playing?

Surely the costs below aren't just to gain entry to browse the shirts on offer?

I have no idea, apart from what's on the website.

Still no answer to the very simple question :

Even, hypothetically, if Pearson had still been here and Tommy had scored another 5-10 goals, which player out of Adams, Dykes and Shankland would he replace?

Anyone is better than Dykes...even that kid that stuck his finger in one in Holland 😁he's ******* useless imo. 👍

Same here, if my dad was alive he’d be a centurion, he always used to walk around the house singing it

My Dad also sang it after a win. Good memories.

Brilliant!  Can he play after the international break? He’s moving faster down that wing than half our squad at the moment.

What I thought was so thoughtful, was that he lifted his walker over the white line so as not to spoil them. Different gravy that generation.

    Couldn’t agree more Spud.

Hopefully with a bit of traction it could happen. Would definitely have a lump in my throat singing it, thinking of dad and our times together at the ground.

This has always been City’s song not that rubbish from the Wurzels, been to a few family funerals when they’ve played this, always brings a lump to the throat

Love the song. Should play it before each game.

I agree...it's traditional, and something that could unite young and old.

I always think of my late father when I hear it. I should imagine it's the same for others who have lost loved ones that were fellow reds.

It would be great to get it as our anthem and sung before all games.

Bit of passion behind it and in memory of ones who are no longer there supporting.

    I always imagined we’d sing

“wake up wake up you City heads……….

cheer up cheer up and cheer on the reds”

Yes mate...it could be changed to suit.

It would be nice if this got going and we made it our own.

  15. I really believe we could make that song our own.

I can imagine the crowd singing it as one.

Gas have one, West Ham, Liverpool etc. etc.

    We need one imo.

It's relevant...and the 'Blue' bit could be aimed at the Gas. Changed to ' what if I'd been Blue'.

When the red, red, Robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along, along
    There'll be no more sobbing
When he starts throbbing, his old sweet song
Oh, wake up, wake up you sleepy head
Get up, get up, get out of bed
Cheer up, cheer up, the sun is red
Live, love, laugh and be happy
    What if I've been blue?
Now I'm walking through fields of flowers
Rain may glisten but still I listen for hours and hours
I'm just a kid again doing what I did again, singing a song
When the red, red, Robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along

Would be interesting but his silence since has guaranteed an NDA was in place so we are only going to hear analysis over blunt truths unfortunately

There's nothing to stop him giving honest opinions though.

Done in a way that we could read between the lines.

    He's an intelligent bloke.
