  1. It was just an observation, and a thought that crossed my mind. As to the ' committee ' that came to the conclusion that that was how they were going to portray modern day Paris/ France to the world. Basically a fanciful concept of how the world observed French culture as it was in the past.
  2. I thought the whole thing was excellent...just not representative of what Paris is like now. For me...it showed how I preferred it. Great game though.
  3. Opening ceremony is interesting as to how they are portraying French 'Culture' in Paris. Wish it was still like that. Anyone who's been there recently will know what I mean.
  4. Namak...voted Bristol's best restaurant for second year running. https://www.bristolworld.com/news/bristol-curry-house-beats-the-citys-michelin-starred-venues-to-scoop-national-restaurant-award-4283574
  5. I hear what you say, and agree in some ways. In others...someone else could have invested more...and just in the football...and made far better decisions. He's liked in football circles, especially as he gives managers a decent go of it time wise. It's the other aforementioned situations he's created that are the problem.
  6. Yes I've posted about him before. Been watching his progress. ?
  7. Yes mate...I use it regularly. If you can get a table outside on a sunny day it's fab. Small plate type Tapas. Not a huge menu. The Calamari is freshly made and good quality. Negroni is nice as well. Estrella too.
  8. Yes it's the only free stream of it I could find. From memory the doc goes to the shops in Europe where the clothes and trainers came over from etc.
  9. I remember watching this Casuals documentary and how it all started a few years back. Found it again. Worth watching if you are interested. Does work...takes a few seconds to load and volume comes on. https://vk.com/video8072995_456239021
  10. Here you go fella... https://playupliverpool.com/1886/01/01/robert-k-young-robert-young-playupliverpool-com/ https://www.vintagefootballers.com/product/young-robert-image-1-bristol-city-1908/ https://www.vintagefootballers.com/product/bristol-city-image-1-jvjd-1907/ That last image with your Grandfather in the team photo would look great in a frame...bargain.
  11. From 26.15 mins in...this is a recent insight into where SLs head is at...worth a listen.
  12. And it's also worth pointing out that the flag has smack bang in the middle, the image of an ' Ultra/ Casual' wearing the Millie Miglia Google jacket first worn by Italian Ultras. Quote.. The ‘Millie Miglia’ jacket was produced in a variety of fabrics, including anti-rip, leather, the experimental dynafil and a water, smog and oil resistant fabric. The indestructible qualities of the jacket didn’t take long to be noticed by football hooligans across Europe. With the hood pulled up and the goggles folded down, and a scarf draped across the mouth the lower face was almost hidden and allowed the wearer to go undetected. When Massimo Osti found out hooligans were using his expensive race car driving jackets to hide their identities when commiting acts of violence, he apparently laughed and remarked “If the hooligans are buying my jackets it means they have good taste!” Nicknamed the ‘Millie Miglia’ after the vintage car race it once sponsored, the iconic CP Company goggle jacket has been produced continuously in endless variations since 1988 and has come to be loved by fashion designers and conversely by those with a propensity for violence over the years.
  13. If we are going to be pedantic about it ??...I didn't say they were Ultras...I said there are influences by the Ultra culture from abroad.
  14. I remember the days when it seemed everyone was wearing Sergio Tacchini tennis shirts and Fila shorts with tennis or squash trainers...looked like a bunch of extras from a Wham video ???
  15. ....1928 verses the Gas. Can't remember anything earlier... https://www.britishpathe.com/asset/
  16. I know who copied who...however the 'Ultra' culture from abroad is influencing British football culture.
  17. Cmon Philly... whilst you're correct people shouldn't judge others on what they wear, the context here is totally different. The ' look' they've gone for, especially with faces covered so not to be recognised ( there's a reason for that, and it's not because they are covered in acne) is to associate themselves with a football culture that's related to enjoying a bit of a ruck. It distinguishes them away from the ' normal ' fan and ' shirters'. ' Getting the badge in'...kid on right...it all points to a culture. It's been the same as others have implied over the years. A culture that wore certain clothing at football matches to distinguish themselves. And their were some proper clown looks during the 70s as has been mentioned. Whilst this imo isn't about a fascist thing...it's definitely a look and trend being copied from the ' Ultras' abroad. A bunch of kids following a football trend, that so many have done in the past, that will eventually grow up and see how silly it all is...' but was fun at the time'. So many have been there before and voice experience.
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it our former Financial Director John Pelling ( he who stepped in on Cotterhills deals) that was part of the ' team' that wrote up the rules for FFP? Was pretty close to SL.
  19. The raising of the drawbridge is imo...the wrong dicision. What he's asking of NP or any manager come to think of it, is suicidal imo. With so many long term injuries to players, and the likelihood of others being injured between now and January, then he's playing with fire. He wants to be competitive and even expect top half finish...with such a depleted squad because of injured influential players...it only takes a few more knocks and we are screwed. And we all know there will be injuries...it's part of football.
  20. His decision making is woeful. How many times can he get it wrong. Gets the right manager in...now's the time to back him. ???
  21. Not only that... correct me if I'm wrong...but hasn't NP implied that no player has been signed as a replacement for Scott?
