Nobody is allowed to hold Steve and Jon to account. Not through a proper structure of Board and Sub-committees to oversee the work of the CEO. It's laughable.

BCFC is being run like a small family business selling pizzas out of a converted Sprinter at festivals. It really is that bad.

    and the pizzas taste sh*te

Ridiculous. And yet thoroughly, depressingly predictable.

The Lansdowns track record favouring familiarity over capability is astounding when you stop to think about it.

I'm still frequently baffled thinking how was SL so successful in business with that kind of decision making

Bernard, often quoted on posts here and is well known ' he supplied the bedroom to start HL, Hargreaves was the Power House, Lansdown did the bean counting '

Bristol City (aside from the promotion years in Divs 3&4) has been a constant disappointment in my life.

The levels of underachievement for a city of this size, with a massive catchment area are utterly astounding. When considering the Lansdown era it's abject failure, brought on by incompetence and....

...lack of governance throughout their reign. A good leader knows their deficiencies and has trusted advisors who can bring sense and other opinions to the table. In the Lansdowns we have none of this. We have nobody with deep footballing knowledge at the club. We have no-one steering the ship. We have no-one to hold accountable except for the Lansdowns themselves. And we've been told "this is my club". When it isn't, it's our club. The fans club. Bristol's club. Ironically we had some sort of structure in place just one year ago. and we started to turn the corner.

When someone disagrees and upsets the apple cart - they're fired. They naively think that Gould and Pearson sorted the mess out. Brought in Alexander (who I was actually quite excited about - in that he knew how to run a football club) when Gould left for his dream job. And then both Pearson and Alexander were gone. The work is not yet done. "Alright Nige, we've now fixed all the footballing issues, we couldn't stomach you disagreeing with us any more and we've decided that you're part of the project is done. Sorry your sick and all but get out the club". The ego there is astounding. They are little boys in a mans body.

I don't (yet) have any beef with Manning. But my word in a results business they've been poor. And defending is also poor. We need to ratchet things back up really quickly, because conceding 2 goals a game and scoring 1 means that you lose. Every time.

Top Post and so true of BCFC.

I didn't expect miracles but the very least I expected was to maintain our position.

We've gone backwards. We've moved further away from the play offs and now looking over our shoulder at the relegation zone.

None of us want LM to fail so please stop saying that. We all want LM to be a roaring success.

Of course we do. And we also want a £100 Xmas Bonus to all BCFC supporters from Crayon Boy. ( We wait with anticipation !)

This squad is so boring. No stars, no flair players, barely watchable.

It's terrifying that the powers that be genuinely believe this team is capable of promotion.

The young players are raw, the senior players are washed, and the manager is already losing the battle with his hairline.

Club needs a fresh start and new leadership/ownership, until then I have absolutely no interest in coming back.

Same here after 60+ years of following BCFC. No ST now for 2 years but still passionate about my club which I feel again is failing due to the Emperors New Clothes attitude we seem to have at AG. Wouldnt be bl**dy posting at 1.45 in the morning if I didnt care !!

    Dear Jon

Let's put aside the fact I think you a pretty clueless individual living off the back of Daddy's mates success....

    Redeem yourself....

Apologise to the fans, something that I know comes hard to your family.

Demote Tinnion immediately, this ain't jobs for boys. Employ a proper technical director.

Consider shipping Manning off to Swansea, not to say he deserves the sack and his reputation in tatters for joining your shitshow on the back of your ill advised comments.

Define our style , which is high intensity, pacy, transition play.

Employ either Pearson or a similar style of manager who knows how to play that way and get the best of our squad.

Then I and probably many others might start to have some respect for you.

Spot on, smug ass had the bedroom and could do the accounts

Okay a couple of names, of varying likelihood but all 3 have their contracts up in summer 2024.

    Derby

    Cashin and Bird

    QPR

    Willock

Do we make a play for any of them. As it stands all 3 add out of contract- the first 2 perhaps could reunite with Knight, the latter with Dickie.

Granted Cashin is also linked wirh a few PL clubs but also Middlesbrough. Bird had that injury back in August.

I would add Chair but he feels like he would be out of reach.

Too expensive, higher level of interest and his contract is up in 2025, with a further year in favour of the club- could easily be 2026.

    probably a high-chair !!!

This is exactly it, apart from getting a chance to supposedly play in the best league in the world they are also multiplying their salary 10 fold, absolutely nothing the club can do about it other than cash-in

and strange its from a club that was in Division 4 a few years back !!!

  9. Due to work commitments, retirement and then illness, after 60+ years of going down the gate, it seems nothing has changed, the problem has been for many years the tippy tappy passing across and back that I endured for many a year. I gave up my ST 2 years ago and now rely on RB and OTIB to feed me my weekly shot of BCFC. I used to play as a youngster and played on the right wing and simply my job was to get the ball up to feed the inside forwards. Coaching has killed that, I was never coached but defensive holding, playing out from the back, etc has killed attacking football. As my old man shouted at me, ' keep the bl**dy ball in their half, thats how you get goals, the goal is that big white thing AHEAD of you, not behind'

In the short term, get Nige back as DoF with John Eustace as head coach. See how that works. Tins will have to go.

Max, looks like Eustace is coming, would love to see Nige take over the gas and get them promoted, I'm old school and hate back stabbing, we need a bit of local competition and who better than the Rovers, will put our owners on their guard.

So we’ll interview lots of candidates, Curtis will win the next 2 games and after 2 months he’ll be the best candidate and get the job-  Where have we seen that before?

As those on here who know me, I also support Sheffield Wednesday having lived up there for 5 years as a young lad and went to Wembley in 1966. Every time its Robins v Owls I pray for a draw and am usually rewarded, however at the moment being gutted about the way the cowards got rid of one of the best managers we have had in decades, I really feel I want Wednesday to beat us at the Gate on Saturday to show those spineless cretins that Nige had something great happening here but because their sh**ty egos were dented, he had to go. Its them that have to go, get the **** out of football, you know nothing about it, you are property developers, you have changed my beloved club of my Dad, Uncle Bob,my Grandad, and Great Granddad ( also a Lord Mayor of Bristol) and probably more above them into a National Laughing stock in the football world. @CyderInACan and @SuperDziek are cousins and know my passion still at 73 for this club but to actually say I want to see them beaten has come from the heart of a fan who knows something has got to happen to restore the fantastic fan's base we have ( envied by the blue lot North of the River ) faith in BCFC. For I think its true tosay we have ZERO faith in the Lansdown's.

Personally I have long considered Brian Tinnion a brown noser but the problem is you call him out on X and you get all the “you’re a legend Tins” brigade all over you.

Great player but shit manager who should be out of football matters once a player gets promoted to the first team squad training.

I am sure his worshippers will be all over this - ready, steady, go 🙀

On its way to AG as we speak

The thing is did he give it to them before the Scott sale, I thought it only kicked off when he realised they weren’t going to reinvest. I think what happened is Pearson expected some ££££ after the sale and then suddenly the board pulled the plug….then Pearson started moaning and kicking off. They clearly thought at that point save the money for the next manager very very harsh on him.

memories of a certain Mr Cotterill after promotion and broken promises from The Weasel.
