  1. Found this on a forum for fans of all clubs;

    Leicester 0-2 Blackburn.
    Not the best end to an odd season.

    Yeah. Thanks. Cheers. Well done.
    A Birmingham Fan.
    (We only needed 1 of Blackburn, Plymouth or Sheff Wed to lose, but despite doing it all season, you all managed to win today..... Unbelievable Jeff !! )

  2. Boston won 2-1 and are promoted to the National League. Both sides went for it right to the end. With just two minutes remaining, instead of running the ball to the corner flag Boston players went looking for a third goal.

    2002 City played Boston away in the LDV trophy. Any of you on here go up there for it?

  3. PNE, like City lost one more game than they won. They also ended up with negative goal difference.

    And we rarely get anything from them when we play them......a club I always expect to drop points to....

    I've never understood this belief. My first City game in Feb 69 was a 2-1 win for City. The following season City only won one away game and that was at Preston. December 72 at Deepdale, 1-0 down after 12 seconds, 2-0 after 12 mins, City pulled those 2 goals back, but conceded a third before HT. Final score 3-3.

    Rather Bolton than Barnsley….:yawn:

    Barnsley have near neighbours in Rotherham, Huddersfield and Sheffield. Whoever gets relegated with Rotherham will have reduced travelling next season.

    With Sheff U relegated out of the Prem and Leeds possibly blowing their promotion run, not too much to cheer about in South and West Yorks.

  5. Stoke's Manager appears to have the same problems and ambitions as we do for our club.

    Snippets from the final Stoke pre match press conference today. Ennis has sustained a knee problem and is unavailable as is Haks who has a groin problem. Gooch has trained this week and Leris is OK following his illness.

    When questioned on the task he faced on coming to Stoke he intimated that some of the internal matters were a challenge. He also stated that contract talks will take place with players like Ty and Jordan Thompson. Thompson does have an extension clause that is in Stoke's favour

    The plan for next season is to push on, get away from the foot of the table and be in the top half. For all the difficulties, he has enjoyed the experience and it will help him in the future

    Cribbs have averaged about 160 for their home games, but when the 2 sides met in August the crowd was about 560 and there were people still being let in 15 minutes after kick off. I can see it being a bigger crowd again because of a spot in the playoff final being at stake,

    Careful! It reads like you're building up to a "Thousands locked out" statement! 🙂

  7. According to Peter Godsiff's book; in the late 1920s it was christened Bourton v- Keating stand. Blackburn snapped up City's forwards Bourton & Keating for a combined deal of £3,650. With some of the money City erected a corrugated iron covering over the Winterstoke Road end.

  8. Haven't seen any other post on this. It was announced yesterday the proposal for Prem clubs to only be allowed to spend on their squad 4.5 x the money of the lowest placed club. Currently that club received 100 million, so they would all be limited to a spending cap of £450 million.

    16 clubs voted for it, Chelsea abstained. Villa and the Manchester two voted against claiming they have more money available to spend than that. This proposal would see them with earnings they can't spend.

    Oh dear; how sad. Could those three clubs lower their match day prices which in turn would lower their earnings to that £450 million level.

    They hope for a full strength team to  help win three on the bounce.

    So, now we're safe, are we giving last day starts to Sidibe and Lowe? Or are we keeping the same team and making sure we finish strong? I'd be tempted to keep it as it is tbh.

    further down that thread;

    Haven’t Bristol beaten us on the last 5 occasions they’ve visited?

    Yes they have. Five successive home losses to what must be the most mundane, beige club in the entire division. Incredible run of results really, and we’ve won 4/6 at Ashton Gate during the same period.
