Highland League decided on goal diff;
East Kilbride walked away with the Lowland League 12 points clear of the 2nd placed team.
Elsewhere in Britain, TNS won the Welsh League again, 33 pts ahead of the second placed team. Larne are currently 3pts clear at the top of the Irish League. TNS and Larne won their leagues last season as well. For the Champions League these teams start playing qualifiers in July and if they get through all four qualifiers, they get to play a team which was 4th in a larger country.

I expected the Coventry Manager to remember the precedent which has been set; grab a ball boy and swing him round.

Is it my imagination, or are the commentators biased? Several statements suggesting so including this:
Manchester United need to concentrate now on winning in extra time.

For their final game of the season, 700 Hartlepool fans made the nearly 600 mile round trip to Dorking Wanderers yesterday and witnessed a 4-3 win. All 700, men, women, children and Jeff Stelling, went dressed as Blues Brothers.

Highland League decided on goal diff;
Pos P W D L GF GA GD P Buckie Thistle FC 1 34 26 3 5 98 34 64 81 Brechin City FC 2 34 26 3 5 90 28 62 81 East Kilbride walked away with the Lowland League 12 points clear of the 2nd placed team.
The winners of Buckie v East Kilbride play the bottom side in Scots Div 2 with the winners of that in Div 2 next season. With two games to go, Clyde 32pts, Stranraer 33 and Bonnyrigg Rose 35, everyone else is safe.
Although surviving on gates of less than 900 (Elgin) and less than 500 for Stranraer, when they play each other it's a 300 mile / at least 6 hour journey.

One of the most encouraging performances under Manning I thought.
It does puzzle me though that we seem to play less conservatively against the better teams than against the poorer ones.
Evert fan in the land will tell you "We always struggle against the bottom tams".

Quite a large crowd there today; from the PUFC site;
Half-time: Bristol Rovers 0-1 Peterborough United
Full-time: Bristol Rovers 0-2 Peterborough United
Attendance: 8,714 (602 Posh fans)- 1

Canaries are generally satisfied with the point
Hmm. Frustrating afternoon. Have to take the point and be grateful a couple of offside decisions went our way. Bristol a bit hard done by.
Hanging on with the skin of our teeth - but still a good point
Bristol won practically every ball in Central midfield in front of their box but we couldn’t win any balls in front of our box - we have to get a quality CDM in the summer
Take the point. I thought they edged it over the course of the match.

Says a lot for City's performance the home fans booed the end result.

Watching on the Norwich TV. We’re playing really well. Great counter-attacking football. If only we could play like this every week!
And the commentators are even handed with their remarks. Pleasing to hear them also praise the number of visiting supporters

Looking back; an unique occurred in the league table.
74/75 Sunderland, City and WBA were 4th, 5th & 6th respectively.
12 months later in 75/76 The same three were 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively
A few years later when 3pts for a win was introduced, Bolton fans claim they and City would have gone up. Sunderland would still be Champs with WBA 2nd. Bolton would have pipped City to third spot as City W 19 D 15 which would have produced 72 pts today. Bolton W 20 D 12 which also would produce 72 pts and they had a better goal diff.

Was a wonderful night, we lost the last game of the season at home to Notts County at AG a few days later
The players were still drunk. It was a surreal experience, going into AG knowing we were now a Div 1 team.
A few months later before THAT 1-0 win at Highbury, City lost 2-0 at Reading in a warm up game.

I don't like how the Fa and the PL have done this. It smells rotten.
Think back to the early 90's just before the Prem started. Div 4 & 3 had 24 clubs in each, Divs 2 & 1 22 each. The lower wo divs were considered Associate Members and for voting had four four votes between them. The top two divs were Full Members and had a vote each. The Associate members requested one vote each and the clubs then in Div 1, got together and suggested a formula that the rest of the League accepted. Div 4 clubs - 1 vote each, Div 3 - 3 votes each, Div 2 - 6 votes each and the Div 1 clubs would have 12 votes each. The 22 Div 1 clubs working together would out vote the other seventy clubs in the League.
At the same meeting they pushed through "Each club will keep 100% of gate receipts". Until then gate receipts were split three ways. The majority went to the home team, some to the visitors and a third portion into a central pot submitted to the League. The central pots from each team were added together and at the end of the season split into 92 equal portions, one for each team.

At a guess I would have thought scouting.
That was my point; City do not scout in their own area.

As expected and required, Yeovil champions of NLS.
I found this post from a Yeovil fan on another forum;
this time last year we had a owner trying his best to sell the club, we was 3 days away from extinction, it was going to be wound up in the court , then a local fan when he was young came along bought the club told the manager he will back him , he told us he will build a squad that will compete, we walked it , 14 game winning run , 100,000 + through the gate at home this season record after record broke , after 10 years of crap managers and owners and chairman we are back

Rovers are in League 2, 4th tier of English football. Leek town are in Northern Premier League Division One South East 8th tier of English football.
Leek's ground holds 3,600 with625 of them seated, but look below at the condition of the stadium and it's pitch. Rovers; this shows how poor you are.

It's only Tuesday and they're already discussing this Saturday's game; https://forum.pinkun.com/index.php?/topic/156283-bristol-city-saturday/
For possibly our biggest game of the season to date ( Ipswich aside ) I amazed at the number of tickets still available, just 4 days away, with plenty of doubles and the section next to the away area ( I assume has not been available to long ) almost totally available.
Big game this one. Bristol are right near the top of the form table so we'll have to be at our best.
Surprised it's not completely sold out. Regardless of the opposition, every game for us is massive from now on.
It’s only recently been made available. Looks like Bristol will be bringing relatively few fans with them.

I hope plans are being drawn up to give Rotherham a small section of the away end over by the Lansdown, so we can give at least half the Atyeo to City fans.
Last games of the season are usually popular so we have a real opportunity to increase the attendance due to a very small away support.
Last game of the 2006/07 season v Rotherham; look to the left and plenty of empty seats despite this game seeing City promoted.

I say keep VAR, BUT change it's use to that of DRS in cricket.
The Ref can use it if he's not sure of what just happened and both teams would be allowed to review two of the Ref's decisions. For the rest of the game the VAR official just sits there and minds his / her own business.
