Fulham at home match-day thread
22A replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Now the dust has settled; https://www.friendsoffulham.com/forum/index.php?topic=82037.140 Once again, their players were poor and the ref was bad. No one ever says City played well and deserved a draw etc. -
Thanks for your advice everyone. I rang today and paid for a ticket and was then sent an email which I present at the turnstile on the day(!). I thought it would be "take it to the ticket office", but no, definitely "the turnstile on the day". I did ask how they knew my email address and was told I have a profile and am known as a member of this forum.

The version I remember from 74 / 75 era.

Leave a few unsold please. Then they'll be returned and those of us who live here can buy one on the day. I've tried to "Create an account" with Bristol Sport and whether I enter my home or mobile phone number, am greeted with "Landline is not valid".

With City away that day, non travelling fans could go to that or cheer on Yate.

I posted the other week that the majority of goals City have conceded this season have been due to crosses from the oppo's left, our right. -

Our win was simply down to Bentley (so they say). https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/forum/276639/why-do-opposition-keepers-turn-iworld-class-against-us/#8 -

No, no. He means lead them to promotion next a=season back into the League! It's now mid September; another month and we can all sing "21 today" to remind them when they were last above City.

Coincidence. Most of their fans think City will lose as well; https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/forum/276603/pinners-run-is-at-an-end--brizzle-city-match-thread/#21 -

Cardiff City away - match day thread
22A replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
A mixture of comments on their forum tonight. On page 8 Spooky Tree "Perplexed as to how we lost that. They're crap!" Page 9 Seabird "I thought Brizzle defended well against our 'giants' so that buggered that. Playing alongside Ralls seems to have brought down Pack to the same level, I seem to remember him having a modicum of control. I think McCarthy's love affair with Bacuna is holding us back. With Giles and Colwill in the side I think we would be able to 'create' a little more." Page 10 NYC Blue " Just got back. Good game, very entertaining. Bacuna poor, anonymous 1st half, barely better 2nd half. Giles way off his best and why oh why is our best crosser with his left foot playing on the right? Several times he beat his man and had to cut back inside. Sang had a good game, I can see why people think he could do a job in midfield, the lad's a footballer. Bagan had his best game for us as well in my opinion. Colwill's got something about him, look forward to see how he develops. It's going to be this kind of season I think, we'll win some and lose some. Won't go down and won't go up. If it's that but with the youngsters getting some game time and developing, I personally don't mind, especially if they're enjoyable games of football like today I don't think you would have found it that enjoyable if you watched it on TV. I found it very frustrating. If you look at the match stats, we had 63% possession, 407 v 256 passes with 72% pass accuracy and we did approximately ****-all. Very disappointing". -

OK, now the dust has settled. Would you prefer, City to have narrowly lost today, but beat Swansea last week to be unbeaten at home? Duuno 'bout you, but I actually enjoy winning at Cardiff, so I'll stick with the results that ctually happened. -

That's a real double celebration for Swansea then. Last week they won at AG, then this week we go and win at Swansea's hated Cardiff. -

Be fair though; if City were losing, you'ld want the Cardiff keeper to have made at least two fine saves for them to stay ahead. -
Who, only a few years ago won at the Mem in the FA cup when Barrow were non league. They even came from behind to do it. 1-0 down 2-1 up there's a song for vistiors!

Alan D was manager for thirteen years. We then had seven in the next 14 years. I've read about Fred Ford in peter Godsiff's history of City. After dismissing Fred, Harry Dolan wanted Frank O'Farrell, then Torquay's manager, to take over. Frank turned us down as he was a friend of Fred Ford. Not long afterwards, Man U appointed Frank as their manager. When City won promotion in 1965, the players came out to celebrate after the game, but Fred didn't come out. His reasoning being that it was the players, not him who had won the promotion.
