Martin goes close, possibly just nicked the post.

Martin misses a great chance, heading over

According to the stats Max hasn't needed to make a save or catch the ball in the first half
sure he made one block at the near post with his feet...

HT 0-1. QPR started well, pressed us into hurried balls and were on top. However, we've gained some control and well worth the 0-1 lead. Tommy probably should have scored to make it 2, but he has worked hard after a quiet start.
Only disappointment for me, is Bell, who has been a passenger throughout, like to to Mehmeti come on to have a chance in his place.

Conway working hard, gets a chance but drags it wide... (Bell remains a passenger so far).

nice cross from Pring again, wins us a corner

Had a very good first season Sykes. Got better and better
So much better than having Cornick play there.

Assist from Pring

Sykes 0-1 !!!

3 successive block to stop QPR scoring... great defending but have to get a grip on the game. Bell & Conway need to get on the end of some balls and take the pressure off.

good break with Scott & Pring doing well, our first chance.

scruffy start from us, need to settle down...

Really promising player who deserves a go in the WSL...

Vicky Bruce signed a one year deal in July with the option of a second

Jazz Bull (alongside Maddi Wilde) signed their first professional deals in June. Both were one year

Jesse Woolley signed a one year deal in June

Interesting, so Bruce, Bull & Woolley can all be released June/July. From the games I have seen I would say they are each not strong enough to compete in the WSL...

Are they out of contract?
fair point I don't know, I thought it was commonplace outside of the WSL to only issue 1 year contracts, but I could be wrong.

And the exodus continues with Chloe Bull, Lia Cataldo, Jodie Hutton and Lily Greenslade all released too.
Surprised that both Hutton & Cataldo are going, that leaves us a bit short on the left hand side. I'd have kept Cataldo, I think. Greenslade couldn't force her way into the first team at Championship level so her cards were already marked & Chloe Bull's been absent a bit lately though again, I'd have probably offered her another 12 months.

I don't think we have been near ruthless enough. Jaz Bull, Vicki Bruce, Woolley not in my opinion good enough for WSL.

FT 2-0. Our girls were the better side in 2nd half, without managing to create any clear-cut chances.
Perhaps a “good” result in a way, as shows we really need 3 or 4 quality signings to improve that side to have any chance of staying in the WSL.

HT 2-0. Birmingham been the better side, Lucy Quinn had looked a level above anyone else, scored the first and made the second. She is the sort of quality player we could do with poaching!
We have had a couple of promising situations, but don’t think their keeper has had a shot to save yet.

Shot from inside the box nutmegs Bruce, Bentley, probably mis-sighted gets a hand to it but can't keep it out 1-0.
-
twice in opening 5 mins Vicki Bruce gives it away in dangerous positions, showing why she is one that needs to be replaced if the girls are to compete in the WSL.
-
FT 1-2, much like the away game unfortunate not to have got a point. Miles better after the first 3 subs.

Another chance for Weimann, but bounce of the ball not read.

Weimann "scores" with diving header, but Wells penalised for foul.
