By far the most interesting person I (sort of) know (do internet forums count as knowing someone?).  Your life is an incredible adventure, and no doubt would make a good book or two, and a decent Sunday evening film.

Perhaps, in the non footie section you could pen the saga of your life - if you don't mind us nosey buggers prying over every detail!

Around the world and you bump into a City fan and a Preston fan.  Marvellous stuff.

I'll take your wish for a 4-0 win and predict the same score line.  Perhaps if enough of us predict the same score, the combined will of the City collective will force the score to manifest as reality.

    COME ON YOU REDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

    LJ is the King.

Yes, in a world increasingly dominated by vacuous and inane social media 'banter', it's great to read such a splendid tale written so eloquently by a fellow fan.

As I take my seat at the Gate today, I might reflect on these two fellows' little adventure and remind myself that the planet doesn't actually revolve around BS3, even on a Saturday afternoon. Though hopefully come 5pm I'll feel it was the right decision to go to the game, rather than freezing my tits off in the middle of the ocean (which was never really an option for me anyway, to be honest).

Dunno, I wouldn't go near the place...

Well as I reside next to the rugby ground, I can answer that one...no.

It was however one of the louder games there, as Charlton made themselves heard a bit this evening. Didn't hear the 'loyal and true' blue few, but then you rarely do.

I was one of them.  First and only time I have left the ground at half time

I was one of the few that stayed until the end. Then the home fans had an end-of-season pitch invasion and duly celebrated their fine result by pelting us with coins. Good times :(

Just some light Monday morning tin-pottery.

'Tin-pottery', what a lovely definition of our blue friends.

Displaying the qualities of hilarious inadequacy and eternal inferiority. Crapness. See also: Bristol Rovers.

Tin-pottery. I like that a lot. Almost feel a bit sorry for them.

I was explaining to the Mrs about Gerry Gow and how it has effected grown men, my theory is that is a part of your childhood / adolescence   disappearing .

I think that's probably what it is, but also when you admire someone so much in your formative years that they become a 'hero', you get some sort of personal connection with them even though you've never met. Like they become a subconscious father figure.

I haven't felt as saddened by the death of someone I didn't know personally since the passing of John Peel, and before that Joe Strummer, both personal heroes for me, just like our Gerry was.

  6. Just seen some sag has posted a delightful video on Aden Flint's twitter of a bunch of jolly fellows singing "we'll all be having a party when Aden Flint is dead". Classy. Presumably they were then about to celebrate their team's away win, once they were done with wishing a fellow human being dead.

Some telling points there Bert, with the usual painfully verbose attempts to extract some humour through imaginary quotes.  So much time taken to compose. So little wit as a result.

Why though, as ever, do you choose to make them on this forum?

    Others are available.

Sorry , but I can't see any attempt to extract humour in that post. Just exasperation. Strangely, Bert gets a fair bit of sympathy on this site, because he clearly cares and feels hurt by the repeated and continuous embarrasment delivered by the club he supports. What are these other like-minded websites where you feel Bert will get a sympathetic arm around his shoulder?

I would say he's 100 % gas . But because he questions and has a different view to u . You got to call him out . Because you're so paranoid that a fellow saghead can be so critical. I know a few really sound sagheads and they don't think everything is rosy . And they call me a shithead just to make sure u know there proper sags . Grow up Danny and if u don't like what you read . **** off

Bert is insightful, funny, intelligent and knowledgeable. Have you ever met a sag with any of the above qualities?

    Well quite.

I'm with Danny, there's no way this guy's Rovers.
