  1. People like Steve Lansdown used to say it about LJ. He went on 20mans show - possibly on a Friday night - and during a long interview confirmed LJs job was safe if we got relegated. That was during the season that relegation was a distinct posibility. I stood in Costco dumbfounded while my mate was picking up his Yorkshire tea.
  2. I went back him. Only because I don't see a viable short term alternative with 12 games left to the end of the season. We'll then have a very good sample size of games to judge his true ability. And if it all clicks by then, happy days ... But as stated elsewhere, the real problems lies above the first team coach level, so don't expect anything to change, even if we change coach.
  3. Change the word 'Nigel' to 'Liam' in the JL quote and ...
  4. I'd like to disagree, but I'm not sure I can. If Mebude comes on he'll have to play much better than he played last time to have any impact. I'll add that Sykes looks off it as well. I suppose you could say that for a few of them. It looks like a parks game, and we look like the team that is more hungover.
  5. But they look much nicer than the weak p1ss, er sorry, 'straw', coloured tops. And don't feature splat.
  6. Might be an idea to spread some of the home games around to Weston and Bath, although maybe it would be unfair to the hard-core support who would expect to play at the HPC week in week out.
  7. This is great, but hoping that BT & JL don't put us in a position where we are relying on Seb to score us the goals to ensure a top six finish next season.
  8. I was at both the Charlton games - the away game Bobby Gould was in our end (I think we only had the bottom half) with his missus, and was an ignorant dick to me. Would it have killed you to say 'thank you' you bloody tosser? Not that I bear a grudge. I was also at the final to see Eric Cantona tear Chelsea a new one, possibly thanks to a certain late, well regarded, bcfc employee with the initals BF, having a hand in the ticket ballot.
  9. This aspect of our play winds me up so much. Unless we've triggered to close down the defence, we are really static in the final third.
  10. It would be good to get @Davefevs and @TomSutton on together sometime. Ian's less 'controversial' when Fevs is on as well. Double win.
  11. I know I'm a not a big spender, but I just put 22p on them at 7-1 for a draw.
  12. At least they're still 'giving it a go' I suppose. I do feel sorry for them, and I don't for one minute think they'll find it quite as easy next season back in the Championship as they did before. So well done all involved in 'investing' in our women's team. I don't really think it will be any different if the men's team ever get promoted.
  13. Couldn't happen to a nicer team.
  14. Sounds like he should be but who alive knows how good Thickett really was? Absolutely mental I know, but his last game in charge was temporarily stopped when a plane flew over.
  15. Gooooaaaallllllllllll!! 2-2 Finish could teach our forwards one or two things.
  16. Don't put this on Manning - our throw ins have been terrible since NP. Under NP last season I think I counted something like 15 consecutive throw ins that went backward one match. It should be fundamental - no one should have to teach a professional footballer how to take a throw in. This is something that was ingrained under the previous regime, and seemingly not challenged. Anyway, they might be cr@p, but at least we put a few in the right direction yesterday. Which is more than some matches this season.
  17. Yep. cool finish 1-0 up now. Need more of the ball to prevent defeat though.
  18. Difficult for ref without var, but I expect that handball gets given against the Southampton player near the end of the half. Andy Weinmann for a supersub appearance?
  19. Really, we are in last chance salon with respect to having enough games to mount an outside chance of reaching 6th place. If we can maintain the levels and quality we did v Southampton for most of the run in, even going into the the last few games needing 3 wins and a good following wind would be magic. Anyway, one game at a time lads and lasses.
  20. They're the best of the rest, being made to look bang average. Southampton finishing awful - goal apart.
  21. The longer this goes on, the better I rate our performance. Although I'm a bit worried Southampton are wasting too many chances.
  22. Er, I think the term is 'Manning Ball' - not that I use it. I wouldn't Google 'ManBall', but each to their own. I was surprised how weak Millwall were against Ipswich, but I suppose you could ague that that it was a free hit for them and I doubt they were expecting a victory. Millwall should hope to get over the line v Sheff Weds, but a draw wouldn't be a bad result and keep Weds subdued for next week. We aren't going up/getting in play-offs, but a winning mentality breeds confidence, so I hope I'm still looking forward to the game come 5pm tomorrow.
  23. Neil, do you take the short route to/from the ground, or do you walk around the metro (which is only about 5mins longer BTW). I've noticed the pavement (what there is of it) has been particularly muddy of late.
  24. Jesus. Completely nonsensical. Which horse said this?
