A Northerner pointed out to me that Gateshead, Accrington, Southport, Barrow and then Workington failed to win re-election to the League. Four of the five new teams were from the South, P'boro' Cambridge, Hereford& Wimbledon.

He was convinced  of a conspiracy theory and argued that if a Northern team drops out, they should be replaced by a Northern team.

    And their point is? ?

In slight seriousness, there is a big imbalance of Lancs / York’s teams compared to Devon for example. The latter have a big job convincing players to up sticks completely rather than move to a nearby narthern town. Used to be a problem for teams as far ‘north’ as City.

The Pearson project just seems too far gone now. Physios to coaches, we are pot committed.

The worrying thing for me was the holden team just needed organisation and discipline.

We seem over reliant on younger players who through no fault of their own, lack the mental toughness, the resilience and guile to see out 90 minutes of championship men's football.

We are toothless up front, too soft in midfield, disorganised in defence.

To me that was obvious from the start, maybe Pearson knew that too, as he seems genuinely agitated and almost finding this job funny.

I'm tired of the same 'im cross  smile, i have my opinions on this squad, loooooook, adjusts glasses, empty threats and promises' for every abject performance.

Maybe the fault lies at SLs door, but its making the ashton and lj days look like heaven right now.

Your second sentence suggests there’s another reason for the general lethargy in the team. Concerning…

I said to someone the other day that Pring had really impressed me this season, he had one bad game when he was moved back to left back (can’t rem who against) and hasn’t really featured since. One of the few players that can actually take a player on and put in a good cross, plus works really hard down left hand side and offers good protection to left back.

I think having Pring infront on JD would really helps JD game as he’s obviously a talent but like most his form has been off for couple seasons.

Alternatively the other way round: Pring is a better defender, could still get forward and put crosses in, while Dasilva (who is technically better) can get more involved in improving our passing in midfield?

Good news regarding the next home game at Ashton Gate. Last home game at AG with fans was against Everton in FA Cup in 2020, on a Monday night which just had over 1000 fans. Last home game before that was against Brighton in 2019, which was on a Saturday and had about 3000 fans, if I recall...

Hoping this game can get as many fans, if not more!FDRrbesWYAEOou0?format=jpg&name=medium

Appreciate logistically it couldn’t / wouldn’t happen but the men are playing Blackburn at home 6 days later - what if a double header could’ve taken place…? I wouldn’t normally suggest adding a women’s game to a men’s one as you would want to see those games stand on their own right, but just as a one off think of the men’s crowd’s chance to see a women’s game without needing to make any extra effort, showcasing that and leading to potential bigger audiences in the future etc. Everybody wins? Just a thought anyway.
