  1. Biggest Question, how can a club in Andorra play in spain? Surely thats not right, i guess the same could be said for Cardiff and Swsnsea but they are in some sort of Union. Does Andorra have some sort of principality status with Spain? Or some hook up with the Spanish FA? I am guessing so if they play in their lower leagues.

The extra fluidity and movement we had without Martin, gave us not only better attacking options but also the ability to fully press Luton across the pitch. Hopefully NP will see that and keep Martin on the bench to start games. Martin did a decent job when he came on fresh.

I agree to an extent, but its very much dependant on the opposition players as well. I have seen Nahki, Andi and Antoine be completely anonymous against defenders Martin has bullied.its too over simplistic, that said I do think sometimes Martin should have been dropped against certain teams in favour of the more mobile option.

Sykes for me. What a player he looks. Was it a red? From the top of the lansdown I couldn’t tell.

Not sure, seen it back a few times, it wasn't  from behind as Freeman had his body angled to the side, the feet were not up, and I don't think it was two footed, it was however aggressive.  For me it wasn't a Red, but you can maybe understand why it was given, that said Freeman should probably have gone for raised hands, especially as he jumped up unhurt to shove Sykes.

Maybe it's just me comparing tackles from a different era

Perhaps so, if he pulls that sort of performance out each time he starts then we’ll miss him.

I think we will. There is plenty to like with his game, I think the frustration when people complain about him is more to do with what you know he can do when he is on it.  And that can't be a bad thing.

And lets not forget he is still very young for a 1st team central midfielder who let's be fair when on it can dictate games, then add in he is playing in a foreign country where he is not speaking his mother tongue.

Personally I think the lad is fantastic when you take all of that into account

  5. I think the one thing we should mention  and I know it's a cliche  fine margins, tonight the one touch football generally paid off. To be fair we have approached other games the same way  but the accuracy and control has not been quite there  once a few players make the correct pass up the confidence levels go. That is all we have really been missing this season.

Add Conway and Wiemann to that list too

I could do quite easily. Especially Andi who was asked to play in a variety of positions tonight. But those 4 i mention for me we top drawer, of course we may not have won without the two you mention Contributions tonight.

I noticed during one break in play he came to the touch line and spoke to Pearson, a smile on both their faces, maybe he might see the light and realise that another couple of seasons at this level and with this coaching team will serve his football education well.

I think he is gone, Pearson clearly likes him as a player or he would not be near the first team, and I think running down his contract rlis what is frustrating to Pearson, Massengo will always give 100% and his attitude is first rate, but the run down of his contract can sit easy with Pearson or those upstairs. Thankfully Pearson isn't being too belligerent and knows he can use the talent while he is still here.

Personally I hope he stays, but I think he has proven enough (other than goalscoring) to earn himself something lucrative elsewhere and probably at a higher level.

    Bump.

As the person who started this thread, everything Han did badly against Sunderland he did well today. Positionally very good, biting in tackle, used ball well. Excellent.

I think with Massengo that is what you get, 100% biting player with skill, it either comes off or doesn't, hence brilliant or below par, you never seem to get anything else.  Personally I like him, Even when stuff is not coming off you can never question the effort.

  9. for me 4 players stood out Massengo, Vyner, Atkinson and Naysmith, but the whole team deserve an round of applause, a very good performance showing what you can do when you are in control, and what you can do in adversity.

Special mention to Bents who when called upon did brilliantly tonight, the save and follow up from Atkinson was fantastic near the end.

Its not scapegoating. Hes just shit, and has proven it many times!

no, its scapegoating, always have to have one player to moan at mistakes or no mistakes, you can see it through the history of our club.  bloody herd mentality, once the chosen scapegoat has been picked all shall jump on his back for the smallest mistake until he is so frightened to make a mistake he can't play without fear, self fulling prophecy.  Fans need to take a ******* look at themselves pitiful.  and if people don't like being called pitiful, think what a player feels like with 1000' s moaning at him at the ground and online

    Pitiful

So did they all just sell up and move?

No property developer buying all the houses to build a huge shopping centre?

I'd have just had an extremely large explosion happen to wipe everyone out.

They cleverly left it open for another channel to buy the rights and maybe start it up again.  Another Paul Robinson fire would have been good, and maybe him losing his other leg and coming back as Robocop may have spiced it up a little for a proper finale.  Alas, no.  Keep your eyes peeled I reckon it could make a comeback

He was out of contract. We offered him a new one. What more could we have done?

I am not disputing that, it was more the fact that I believe (and judging by some responses I am in a minority :))  if given a chance earlier, rather than bringing in others  over and above him, it could have transpired we had gem instead of buying other teams gems who have not been tested at this level.  The contract signing  may then have been a moot point.

    Anyway good luck to him

  13. For me he looked head and shoulders above Atkinson in terms of actual defending and defensive positioning. I am not entirely sure wd have done the right thing here, I think we paid a load for Atkinson when we had potentially a better player already at the club. Atkinson for me is full of howlers and turns like a oil tanker. If I were starting one of the 2 it would be cundy from what I have seen. That said Atkinson is young and has scope to improve.

I feel it could be the case of the one that got away.

Anyway, good luck to him wherever he ends up, our defensive improvement certainly coincided with Cundy appearing in the team.

Forget the flying back but Palmer in the Maldives when Wilson in Portugal… can tell what they both earn, or more what Wilson was earning before, 2 very different players and 2 different mentalities

yep one out of contract looking for a club, one under contract who has time to sort out a club while still getting paid.  the difference is the situation rather then mentalities

I wouldn't try to work out their  mentalities, is Wilson Married with Kids?  I don't know, I know Palmer is with another on the way so I would expect he is doing what his right for his family.  If Wilson has family I expect getting on a plane and signing on with a substantial pay rise before you stop getting paid by you previous club is quite an incentive.

It looks like a white polo shirt with a red tank top over it. It's pretty awful but it's our awful. Loved the promotional video.

That was my thought as well, if you watch the video, one shot with Antoine Semenyo that's exactly how it looks.

I don't like it personally, I don't hate it, if I was in the habit of buying tops purely for collection purposes I would buy it.  If it was for wearing probably not.  I am way past buy kits to wear, sporting wear on a fat man isn't a good look :)

Bit rich from Barca ultras who don't bother turning up for most La Liga games. They didn't care about the Europa League until they got to the knock out stages and now they cry when a club that they knew weeks in advance were bringing 30k take over their stadium.

I went to Camp Nou in 2018 for a La Liga match and was surrounded by football tourists. Very disappointing experience tbh. Look at the atmosphere at Atleti the other night, proper club.

 that's like going on holiday and complaining about tourists everywhere. Why complain about others doing what you are doing and how it ruins the atmosphere,  its people like you that are propagating the lack of atmosphere. It's football tourist that price out the locals and diminishes once  great local support.

Sorry this isn't meant as a dig at you as you are only reporting back your experience, but can't you see the irony in what you are saying?

  17. Ruud Gullit.

Personally I believe to be the best all-round footballer ever.  Centre Back, Right back, Left Back, Sweeper, Defensive Midfield, Attacking Midfield, Central Midfield, Winger, Striker, he could play all of these positions at the top level of the game.

If there has ever been a better all-round footballer, and in turn best footballer ever I am yet to see it.  Granted there were better players in each of these positions, but as a all-round footballer, I think the term banded about now is GOAT
