  1. So, having come late to this thread it appears the position is that Bideford have some floodlights that have no connection to us whatsoever, that ours were once at Wigan but definitely aren’t now and nobody has a clue what the various people at Bideford are smoking. That about it?
  2. Bury. Always on my list. Milne to Walsh crossfield, Walsh to Milne crossfield, side footed volley in. Superb.
  3. Left foot/Right foot/header, right? Doesn’t happen often. Happens even less in the first half only of a game. Happens even less at international level. Meikalya Moore - take a bow…oh….
  4. When my boy did it (2019), it was four match tickets, lead the team out, photos by the pitch and ground tour/food. Big tip - the accompanying adults go on the ground tour, but the kids alone get taken down to the changing room at about half one. They can take mobiles for selfies etc, and one item to sign. We bought a ball and took a Sharpie, then he got it signed by the squad. Buy a glass/plastic box case, get a small plaque and it’s a great souvenir
  5. I don’t disagree there. It seems a natural fit, he’ll know some of the players (Szmodics, Clarke-Harris) and it’s near to his (original) neck of the woods. Play decent football and he would be seen as someone who may be able to do a job if they stay up or go down. Against that, MacAnthony has a massive erection for Ferguson so anyone appointed is only keeping the seat warm until DF decides he wants to work again.
  6. As per title: Look forward to him making a return to London Road in a couple of years time.
  7. Transfermarkt must be wrong. There’s no way Ian can be. About anything. Ever.
  8. Two things: - Like that idea. A lot. - We didn’t play Reading yesterday
  9. Yep, exactly the same. Fact is, it seemed a knee-jerk bizarre sacking at the time (and I know some don’t like Johnson, but he had the best record of any Sunderland manager since they hit that level despite losing his main striker), and the worse Sunderland do post the sacking, the more bizarre it looks. Put it this way, if they carry on bombing and don’t make the playoffs I’d bet, to the chagrin of some, LJs standing will have been enhanced as opposed to reduced by the time on Wearside and how it ended.
  10. I wonder what Newcastle fan and friend of LJ Brian Tinnion thinks. Oh.
  11. It’s basically their version of the Evening Post site, which is also evidenced by this quality piece of journalism where Chris Martin and Antoine Semenyo contain no distinguishing features
  12. Should be in edit post option. If too late, I’d ask mods to remove (again don’t think you’re necessarily wrong, it’s just timing)
  13. I’d be a hypocrite to say otherwise, despite a huge weight of evidence to the contrary…!
  14. No, I’m not having that. I firmly believe that every song we sing is totally literal. On this basis, I genuinely think that Andi Weimann may explode and kill people at any moment, Calum O’Dowda runs down the wing for my personal gratification, Han Noah-Massengo is a borderline alcoholic and Kasey Palmer spends his copious free time screwing peoples spouses. That you think otherwise disturbs me.
  15. Yeah again I’d agree - @Davefevs it’s not even close to the same thing. What your example shows is the players spontaneously doing a very good thing for Joe and you. That’s a million miles away from someone running on the pitch and accosting Alex Scott.
  16. I’d seen that inferred but didn’t want to post until confirmed. Might be best to take that down until it’s known for definite - best intentions notwithstanding
  17. Agree. It’s absolute nonsense. I might be wrong, but what it smacks of also is people who don’t come to the game often and want a souvenir of their tourist day out. My 10 year old has sat through us being gubbed by some real shite. And if he asked to run on the pitch for a shirt on a normal game, I’d tell him where to go. And it wouldn’t be on the pitch. Parents - control your kids. The day is not about little Johnny getting a shirt from a player because you have a small cock and want to make it about you to give a small amount of meaning to your sad little life on the one day you attend. Sit down, shut up and maybe don’t encourage criminal infringement eh? (So, just for those of you where that’s not clear, I’m not in favour!)
  18. Yes, I think so. IIRC Oxford sold him to West Ham but he badly suffered with the travel and being away from Oxford so he quickly went to Swindon
  19. A familiar name to many of us from his Swindon and Oxford days. Has passed at age 50. No other details confirmed that I can find. RIP.
  20. Event not a shock, timing moreso after beating Preston. Self-styled “Guvnor” and wallflower Paul Ince taking charge. Look for Tom to be on free kicks and penalties
  21. I hate to be pedantic but Holden signed Williams. Actually, I don’t hate to be pedantic. You’re wrong.
