  1. It has to be STH. Email all STH and ask for “expressions of interest” and then randomly select from those who want to go (I’d guess no more than 50% at this stage - might do a poll...)
  2. I would guess it’s more about the countries trajectory. Luckily, nobody can get a test so numbers of positive cases should remain low... On a more serious note, I think Germany got 10,000 at a game yesterday (the one where a player threatened the crowd) and Ligue 1 has been running at 5,000 with a greater number of cases than us (similar trajectory). I’d guess that’s what they’re aiming for.
  3. Having now been through wiki, the last season where they played against teams from a lower division and didn’t suffer at least one defeat was 2011-12. They truly are rubbish.
  4. See, my mind immediately turned to where they were in non league but even then, I believe Bath knocked them out of the FA Trophy. Did a non league team beat them in the FA cup in their first season as a league club?
  5. Cambridge’s first league game of the season allowing 2500 fans in: English Football League: Fans to watch fixtures at Cambridge United as test events https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54014149
  6. There’s been further guidance now for steps 3-6 (which includes Yate, Mangotsfield, BMF, Weston etc) - The first game has to have 15% capacity max (can include friendlies against teams from higher levels from Saturday) - Subsequent games are 30% capacity max At Yate Town, capacity is 2,000. Went a few times last year and attendance was about 250 (including WSM game, although that was midweek). Can’t see the 600 capacity being hit or breached so looks like jobs a good un
  7. Blinding. And very sensible. Just trying to see when the Bluebells restart!
  8. It’s pretty much undeniably safer and the scientists you mention are outliers. If you work on the basis the virus is spread through air based transmission, then what you need to do is reduce the chances of a person who has the virus passing it on. Face masks (of pretty much any kind to some extent) will block the particles coming out of your mouth into the wider airstream. The risk is that people wearing masks either become complacent or touch their faces more, but as a concept, masks are a safety improver. This is a decent way of showing this:
  9. Just as a thought on that - as and when we do restart there needs to be an end to the 5pm Tuesday kick offs. Even if they are available on Robins TV a large proportion of people are back in work and it’s unreasonable to have games at that time in view of that.
  10. Yup, the no toilets is a mental suggestion. What about if my 8 year old needs to go?? What I think you can do at AG because of the way it’s structured is put in “checkpoints” to limit the number of people in each concourse area, which would help. For example you could have people entering the Lansdown via designated “gates” and barrier halfway down the concourse so that only (say) 50% of the reduced capacity in that stand have access to a certain area. Means less pressure on the more popular bars, and quite vitally, also reduces the number potentially impacted by contact tracing on any positive test.
  11. To get a fitbit that syncs to Strava, you need one of the “watch” models. The real basic ones with the five dots you can’t start an exercise on and are just pedometers. Therefore, something like an Ionic which I had works. Charges etc I think work ok as well. Basically, your only question is “can I manually start an exercise on this” (loads of them pick it up automatically though). Whether it’s auto track exercise or manual log though, it will sync to Strava.
  12. Oddly mate, I’m having similar issues. Last year at five a side, I was wearing a fitbit ionic. Could start off the watch and auto upload to Strava easily. Other half bought me an Apple Watch and I have Strava linked but damned if I can get football to sync - hasn’t each of last two weeks. It will, I’m clearly not doing it right. So, base advice - a fitbit will do the trick. If you can’t get hold of one more than welcome to have mine as it’s just gathering dust. Sync to Strava is dead easy.
  13. It’s a good job he didn’t get in two years ago or he wouldn’t have escaped...
  14. Can’t say I’m shocked. From reading, the elite course is a 1.5 mile loop that they can keep spectators away from. Incidentally on a local level Westonbirt 10k got bumped to 2021 today but the Bath Two Tunnels goes ahead next weekend. Slightly different format with runners going at 30 secs intervals but fair play to them for getting something on that looks like it’s been arranged responsibly.
  15. There is obvious sympathy to the club - and all clubs - here in that they’re looking at a moving target. They don’t know if fans will be allowed back, when, and to what extent. However, to go all Rumsfeld, there are a few “knowns” - We know that fans won’t be allowed in at season start - We know that when they are, it is likely to be at reduced capacity, and not all ST holders can be facilitated - and they won’t be in “their” seat With these in mind, what I’d like to see the club offer is the following two options for ST holders (with respect, everyone else is irrelevant at this stage as the club can’t facilitate them to attend) 1. A refund is offered but the supporters “seat” remains attached to them and then at the point attendances can return to normal, they’ve not lost their seat. They’re offered the opportunity to “reactivate” the ST when capacity allows. Games purchased on individual basis through Robins TV 2. A refund is not given, but the supporter gets every game through Robins TV. These supporters are prioritised to attend when regulations allow In effect, our chicken:egg problem is that we have too many ST holders to meet any reduced capacity mooted in Oct/Nov/Whenever. I think you’d get enough takeup under (1) as that protects ST holders rights to mean that the number in (2) ends up being about right and workable.
  16. Got some fantastic news today - my sports masseuse is reopening. Booked in on Monday already and desperately needed - last one was end of Feb and I find them vital for getting rid of the knots from running. Having done about 1,500k since and the top of my legs feeling like dead weights I am expecting nothing but pain!
  17. The one I did this morning is a good one to do - Yate Rocks is a nice setting at the start and then you’ve got a about 500m of downhill tree canopy at 5k in down Frith Lane. Old Wood Lanes also a good setting to get near the end. Mix of up/downhills through the lanes, think it’s about 85m elevation. Said it before - one of the real blessings in lockdown has been finding all these settings for a run on my doorstep. Dreading when it’s too dark to do the lanes!
  18. Good distance today mate - but you’re getting dangerously close to my land ?
  19. That’s what you get when you have your right back (who is a centre half by trade) taking them. Nothing against Zac, but that’s on a par with Hodgson having Kane taking corners in the euros.
  20. Good luck mate, from what I’ve seen from you so far 6k a day is totally within your arc as long as the injuries are kept at bay!
  21. Yeah definitely agree with that. Been going to Willow over Yate/Emerson’s and the difference it makes is immense. I think that when they finally get back to being available (I’m guessing August) I may well book a double session as I dread to think what knots I haven’t noticed I have in my IT bands...!
  22. Well, for those of you who haven’t been out yet today...it’s bloody hot. Even trying to deliberately go a flatter route in the shade at an easier pace, I’m still sweating like a gashead in a stable. Best of luck all...!
  23. I went out about 8am today and did a 10k. My shirt was drenched. I reckon for the rest of this week it might need to be 6am starts or cooking may occur!
  24. I read the part in bold and was about to give you a “like” . I then read the rest and now I feel dirty...
  25. First run in decent rain for ages today. God I’ve missed that!
