  1. Great advert for League One and both Devon clubs. Quality and passion on the pitch and on the terraces in “classic” football weather.Would  like to think City have got their eye on a few players on both sides.
Looks Plymouth’s game now but Exeter plenty to be proud of.

I know, I’m not even looking forward to driving from south Devon to Bristol and back tomorrow if the weather’s going to be like this.

    You and me both!

    of course it was.

This comment seems unnecessarily rude unless there’s a level of irony that’s way over my head. I love reading the views of fellow City fans on this forum (whether I agree with them not) but am consistently disappointed in the personal stuff seemingly casually posted. We all exult and suffer (more often) together so let’s be a bit nicer! Yeah?

I don't watch football for the thrill and pleasure of correct refereeing decisions, I go to watch the game being played. I hate VAR.

Any ref who let's the game flow, is basically consistent, and goes largely unnoticed is a breath of fresh air.

Ref was my MOTM last night.

    Spot on.
I note that the BBC on MOTD seem to have forgotten this. Absolutely obsessed about whether a certain decision was correct or not.
    Talk about the football!

The northern Spain derbies are all so so different

Vigo v Coruña = the whole stadium sings the galician anthem pre game. Then it's not uncommon to see players not in the squad from Galicia in the stands given the opposition fans plenty of abuse. It's spicy but rarely trouble

Oviedo v gijon = this is the Derby, they really hate each other. Lots of trouble. It's up there with seville betis. Really have to watch yourself going to this game: when I went to gijon  Oviedo basketball came on tv, the bar owner nearly put the tv out the window.

Bilbao v sociedad = band of brothers derby. Just so much respect between the two sets of fans. Socidad have also never played a game without one home based playerz and take great pride in youth ,They are just a lot more flexible in who they sign , but just as much pride in being basque.

Catalán Derby: wow to every español fan. Talk about commited to the cause. For barca fans, politics is part of sport. For español fans, the basic rule is don't talk about politics. They are heavily outnumbered, they don't sell out the derby, but for those who do support español, they see themselves as what football is supposed to be. Iniesta is the one barca player they will always respect (if you don't know look up why, it.is a cool story

    .............................

P.s  I've seen Barcelona fans in the Atlético ends which was more than tolerated. Accepted even.  Like shirt on open display

I've seen United fans do it , celebrate a goal and no issue.

What they won't tolerate is real Madrid fans doing it. When they try , out the stadium you go

Good knowledge Mr. Turtle. Very interesting.

Sorry Robbored...........but if you cannot acknowledge the maverick talent of Jacki, i despair for you, and your lack of appreciation of  an exceptional footballer  ?   Who cares if he was at times lazy?  He gave me so many outstanding memories and out of my seat moments that i forgive him all his faults.

During his 43 appearances, he was entertaining, frustrating, mercurial, inspired and a football magician...........I was at Leicester, when Motson lauded him, and at the home game against Portsmouth when him and Andy C ran them ragged.  Osman's managerial career after he was sacked for his incompetence at City portrays exactly what his level of judgement was like.  (The last i heard of him was his sacking at Newport in 2015, with them bottom of the League, with 5 points out of 30!  Ha!) If you failed to enjoy Jacki's performance's then it says an awful lot more about you  than Dariusz's capabilities........ IMHO.

Spot on. Football is all about hope and romance for the 99% of clubs who start the season with no expectation of winning anything. It’s all about the fleeting moments that Jacki encapsulated.

They were relegated for the first time in their history in 2017-18. It’s a remarkable stat for a former league club. Until then they’d only ever changed divisions as a result of not being re-elected, or divisional reorganisations within the non-league pyramid.

Really- I thought they were briefly in the Second Division before being relegated.

I think anyone with an ounce of grey matter will acknowledge that Pearson has had a difficult job. Trim the wage bill, not much wriggle room in bringing in players he wants.

I am concerned about how very basic mistakes seem to be happening over-and-over and our shape isn't great and to a degree (with a notable Austrian exception) we don't even seem as fit over 90+ minutes as other sides.

I confess I do worry about the coaching. I had gone with the received wisdom that Pearson could coach a decent player and make him special, but we seem to not really be developing but accepting that we are one of the weakest sides in the division.  Maybe it'll all click into place with Semenyo and Kalas's return, but fans seem to be very accepting of mediocre results against not-that-special sides.

If the end of last season gave me hope, the beginning of this one is filling me with a vague sense of foreboding.  I don't even want to ponder where we'd be this season if Weimann gets injured.

    This is a good summary.

My worry is that we look much the same as we did last year. Poor defensive unit with individuals prone to mistakes. Inability to keep a clean sheet or protect a lead - we’ve been ahead into the second half of all three of our league genes - and over reliance on Weimann’s goals and apparent lack of fitness in late stages of games.

And that's on them. Why should the club spend time and money on programmes for a select few who refuse to use internet?

I use the internet but desperately miss the printed programme. Not comparable.

Absolute disgrace of Scunthorpe to do this, no attempt to honour the integrity of the league or respect Northampton. Most people expected them to get beat, but to effectively put out a side that was three quarters a youth team in a fixture that effected the promotion places is pathetic.

It was two seasons after we’d gone bust & we were a team of free transfers & kids, that’s why.

Unlike them, we have never been back (or non league).

    Chillax!

    You sound unnecessarily bitter.

If you ask the ticket office or @JerrySLO they should be able to send an eticket to the email linked to the card. You should then be able to either print at home or use the QR code with no fee. This is what we did recently when one of my brother's group left their card at home.

    Worth a try!

And our worked for us - thanks very much.

You can save the fiver. I got off the bus at Temple Meads a few weeks back and found I’d left my card at home so phoned the ticket office. I spent a happy half hour sat on a bench in Queen Square as I was No 15 in a queue but they kindly emailed me a bar code that I could flash on my phone at the turn stile which got me in at no extra charge - very fair I thought as I’d been a numpty. Saved me a few quid in the pub as well……. Win win

    We’ll try that thanks!
