  1. He obviously wanted a change of scene - been with Derby since he was a kid.
  2. I see Roberts playing where he has in the last 7 matches - left centre back in a 3. CB is his preferred position. Of course if, say, Pring is injured and we have other LCBs available Roberts could also play LWB.
  3. Mentioned elsewhere on here - apparently BT confirmed it on Robins TV. I also noticed that a few seconds before kick off Williams went over James and shook him by the hand - I’m guessing of course, but it felt to me that he was recognising that it may be their last match together and he was thanking James (no mention of a contract offer for James of course).
  4. The awards followed by the lap of appreciation followed by the Wurzels was known about before the match, and they were hardly likely to do 2 laps of thanks (seemed the same as every last home match to me)! They came around with their partners and kids and they were signing autographs and taking photos for people - Manning too.
  5. Presented on the pitch after the match
  6. This dispels the myth earlier in the thread that Williams rarely passes forward then: “No player averages more progressive passes (a pass that moves the ball at least 10 yards towards the opponent’s goal or one into the penalty area) per 90 than Williams (6.12).” Pleased that we have offered him a contract. I hope he feels that he has unfinished business here given his serious injury problems at the start.
  7. Seems that we’re 11th in every table!
  8. 18 wins would be good. Highest since our last 70 point season (2018-19)
  9. I posted before Ipswich got their second goal! Will be all over for Hull tonight if they don’t score in second half.
  10. I’m not so sure that Brum won’t win. Norwich may be saving themselves for the playoffs. Hull (v Plymouth) are likely to be still trying to get into the playoffs.
  11. I agree. We had the same with GJ - strong finish in 2005-06 (after a horrendous run of defeats earlier in the season) and then promotion the next season. As much as anything, this run of 4 wins and 3 draws should give the players confidence that they can be consistent at this level.
  12. I hope so, although I can see Birmingham getting away with it again and Plymouth going down.
  13. I hope we can get Twine - I think he makes a difference. Shame he got injured as we may have finished even higher. Plus I think we are starting to see the best of him only now because it has taken him a while to get back up to speed after that injury.
  14. Surprised Knight on the bench - although perhaps a last look at James
  15. Dear oh dear, cheer up everyone! People moan when we don’t sign someone, moan when we do, and when we sign someone who looks promising, they worry that he might change his mind
  16. Makes a change from people still worrying about Sheff Utd overtaking us.
  17. Or for the players, for various reasons.
  18. That’s my view too. Would have preferred the parachute clubs out of the way for next season - Leeds have blown it though.
  19. Yes 15k is this season’s figure - and that includes half season tickets. So 3k haven’t renewed. So final total will depend on how many new season tickets are sold now and how many half season tickets are sold in December.
  20. On point 3, we’re just going on what Gavin Marshall said in the FBC podcast when he says we have 15k season ticket holders currently and (direct quote) “we probably don’t want to have that many more season ticket holders”. He then goes onto talk about getting POTD seats in the SS by reducing season tickets there (ensures a mix of different fans in the SS like in the other stands) which is your point 2. This is consistent with what they said when they launched season tickets which was this: “Following feedback at the Fans Forum in November, where there was a collective desire to improve matchday atmosphere, we have made a number of changes to try and increase matchday attendance, particularly in the South Stand by capping the number of Season Tickets to enable more match tickets to be made available here.” I think someone said there is an EFL cap on percentage of season tickets but I’ve not seen it. However City themselves don’t seem to want to sell many more than 15k (if you take what GM says at face value) which would leave around 8k for POTD (home fans only). Their comms keep stating that there are limited tickets available. Of course they might be tested if people keep buying even after they get to, say, 16k - are they really going to say ‘no thanks’?! Not convinced they will sell that many though.
  21. The club could solve most of its problems by appointing a strong experienced comms person who could guide on the public messaging (assuming SL and JL would listen to that guidance of course). The comms around the removal of Alexander, the sacking of Pearson and reasons given for the sacking of Pearson after the event have all been so poor.
