  1. I don’t care about the rest of the season as I’ve lost interest. It’s next season that I’m worried about. Currently we have a team that usually scores either 0 or 1 goal per match with the league position boosted by a good defence (only 3 teams in the Championship have conceded less goals). That’s a very imbalanced team / style of play. It doesn’t matter if City sign a new striker in the close season as the style of play doesn’t create many clear chances. I’m sure Tommy Conway would score more playing in a different team. If he feels the same he’ll be gone in the summer. Look at the teams near the bottom of the league. You can ignore Rotherham as they are the perennial yo-yo team, and Plymouth as they’ve just been promoted. For me, City now are no better than any of the other clubs near the bottom and, unfortunately, that’s where I expect the team to be next season
  2. If Roberts plays in the back 3 or 4 (his best position) and Pring goes who will play left back / wingback?
  3. Bajic and Knight-Lebel are unlikely to feature so that makes it 4
  4. I’ve read the runes and the message is a team that has red and white in its home kit will get at least a point today

    Shirt?

No, as the shirts would blend in with the grass. I would, however, like the red & white kit reversed - i.e white shirts with red shorts.

    Shirt?

Good, but you missed a variation on the blue and white third kit to commemorate City’s 1-0 FA Cup final defeat to Man Utd in 1909.

    Shirt?

It will be red and white, I don’t wear football shirts, so it doesn’t really bother me, but it would be nice if the next kit had just a bit of imagination to make it different

    Brighton

…and buy the correct players, not wild punts on players who will never be Championship standard .
  9. You’re a wimp. Why didn’t you have a few pints before playing for the first team?
  10. I’m glad a name for me wasn’t drawn out of a hat for me. If it had I’d have ended up supporting 7 3/8th
  11. Does anyone know how Evander Holyfield became a Plymouth supporter? On a different note HMS Bellerophon, which you mentioned, has an interesting history. The logbooks have survived and give an insight into life on board in the 1800s. There were several ex slaves on board who had escaped from slavery by swimming to the ship. In those days anyone who put one foot onboard one of His Majesty’s ships instantly became a free man. One of the ex slaves was a white American who had been captured whilst sailing off the coast of Africa. The logbooks show a level of meritocracy that didn’t exist outside of the navy. No mere sailor could rise to become an officer but they could rise to the top jobs below officer class. For example, black ex slaves became “top men”. This was one of the most difficult and dangerous jobs as they had to climb to to top of the masts in all weathers, storm or no storm, to manage the sails Enough of the history - City to win 2-0
  12. At a certain level “Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear” sounds fine in a free society. However, if you give free speech to racism, terrorism etc it’s a dangerous path to follow. At a different level, is it acceptable to allow posters on the forum to insult others because of their differing views? You could say the insult is telling them what they don’t want to hear, but……
  13. I’m not sure how old @Never to the dark side is, but if he’s of a certain age he’ll remember the days when British Railways used to run football specials to matches. I went on one to Plymouth. These were good fun as everyone on board was a supporter, though I was a bit too young to embrace the finer aspects of the trip. Unfortunately, the hooligan element got involved with some of these specials across the country and wrecked the carriages, though not City ones, resulting in them being cancelled. It would be great if they came back but there’s no hope of this as there’s no spare capacity. Perhaps during an international break we could all take over a train from Temple Meads to Sea Mills to watch Manor Farm
  14. Someone on the Leicester forum wants him back. One of the comments was “mass clear out required, total rebuild”. I’ve heard that before somewhere
  15. Looking a bit dodgy for Torquay. With their 10 points deduction they are only 4 points above relegation after today. Torquay in the Southern League would be a big fall from a few years ago
  16. Roberts played in his natural position today and it showed. Playing him on the left side of a back three allows Pring to play as a wing back which adds a bit of extra defensive cover and extra attacking bite in midfield

    Twine

He was good today but would people be so excited if he wasn’t Scott Twine? His decision making in the box was a bit slow and off the pace, but, to be expected as he hasn’t played for a while. The true test will be if he plays regularly till the end of the season. If he plays well, and Burnley want to sell him, the crunch will be the fee, which was £4.5m in January. As City’s original target, Finn Azaz went for “only” £2.5m would City pay £4.5 for Twine? Or would Burnley reduce the fee? Or would Burnley, if relegated, decide to keep him as he’s a good Championship player?
  18. Don’t forget - Harry Cornflake is a serial goal scorer
  19. As Oliver Prince Smith, a U.S. Marine four-star general, said during the Korean war “Retreat Hell! We're just attacking in another direction.”
  20. Bristol may have a poor Championship club but at least we’re famous for the awful road system
  21. There are few moans on the Rovers’ forum as everything is wonderful. New South Stand, other ground developments on the way, Premier League football in 5 years and, of course, the best fans in the country that are loved by every other team they play.
  22. This has given me a fantastic money making idea. I’m going to buy some of these tee shirts from Peacocks for £5.20. Then I’ll write “Frank” (my middle name) on them in felt tip and sell them for £35, giving me a quick £29.80 profit. OTIB members can have a 5% discount. Just PM me
  23. I’ve looked at this website and I’m none the wiser. Usually a website will be very specific about the business activities etc. This is just nebulous waffle
  24. Kevin Manbutt Superstar. Those were the days
