  1. Work in progress innit. Did more than enough to win, played at times some half decent stuff, should have won. Mind you, not sure we will have many worse teams than Blackpool at AG. Ho hum.
  2. Played more football than the second half of last season put together, and deserve to be ahead. At the moment restricting Blackpool to bugger all. Cannot fault Palmers commitment, but really not a fan of his sliding tackle which has come to be a trademark. Going to be a card every time he mistimed it.

  4. Indeed. Always worth remembering that their are a small % of people not recommended to get the jab, although I suspect not the sort who would by and large risk large crowds anyway.
  5. All stemmed from what seemed some miscommunication within the Bristol coaches, or from the other end of the telescope, gamesmanship. Last play of the match, Bristol collapse a scrum, near their line. Yellow card to a Bristol prop, Tigers choose to redo a five yard scrum on the penalty. At that stage it would be an uncontested scrum. It looked like Tigers wanted a contested one and started moaning about Bristol could bring back on Afoa, who had been subbed earlier tactically. Ref looked at his notes and said yes, that the reason your coaches gave. Lam then got involved and said Afoa had been subbed because of an injury (which would have meant he could not come back on). Much back and forth. In the end Afoa suddenly was fit and came back on. To add insult to injury Afoa then pretty much ‘won’ the resulting scrum, match over. Much handbags. It was strictly speaking by the book. Ref had written down ‘tactical’ and that was that. It was not in fairness a great look Lam arguing Afoa was injured then him springing up and coming on (arguably when Lam realised Bristol would finish with 13 players). Ironically Tigers seemed to get what they wanted...and it bit them in the arse. My best interpretation of trying to follow it!
  6. BP secured. No idea if you are one of the other top 4 sides what you would make of this match.
  7. Complete fruitcake of a half. Could have been 40 points ahead at half time, instead it’s a one score game.
  8. Don’t doubt the calls were right, but don’t think I have ever seen so many tries ruled out for one side in a half before because of TMO.
  9. The ones left that is. Now down to 13 for ten minutes.
  10. Semenyo is a lottery ticket. He is one of the very few players we have that raises the excitement levels when he gets the ball. He is young and might become something special. No one however can know that for sure. Will he deliver that potential or become, well, a bit of a Junior Bent? Given where we are right now, I am not sure we can take that risk. A bigger club can. It all comes down to what can we get for that kind of money in this market. For sure it might be one of those we look back on and regret if he goes. Equally, lots of unpolished diamonds stay exactly that.
  11. Result pretty much as expected against a top four side, but blimey, 0-1 and really nothing in it. Got to win their last game, but given this performance I would not rule that out.
  12. Kind of? He got it stopping a certain try, which was then given as a penalty try anyway, so it would have been a five point game yellow card or no yellow card. Clearly did not help them right at the death.
  13. If games lasted 75 mins the table might look very different. Somehow dug out yet another 5 point win from a game seemingly gone.
  14. Two late late try’s and it’s a bonus point win from the jaws of defeat.
  15. Not beyond the realms of possibility he could end up doing a ‘Cotts double’ this season.
  16. Well, that took some doing. 21 points up going in to the last quarter, drew 34-34. Never dull watching them.
  17. Suddenly 27-34. Game on and it should have been game over at half time.
  18. 6-31 up before half time, bonus point already secured. Job pretty much done. edit, HT Irish 13 Bears 31 (tries O'Connor, Naulago (2), Vui).
  19. Yes. Was pretty sure at HT all the key teams would win with a BP and we would be sweating on Sale. Will leave that pleasure to Bath now.
  20. Well played Bristol. Fitness in the end, and a 17 point margin feels harsh on Bordeaux in a quality game that was tense as heck through normal time.
