Suddenly 14 ahead. Surely?

I have a vision that there is a pub in Bristol with the game on, it’s a one score game with minutes left...and they all get kicked out at ten.
-
Extra time, fairly uncommon. Depends who had anything left for another 2 x 10 minutes. Been a game with a lot of quality rugby played.

Not what you meant at all...

Bugger. Good game mind.

Meh. We have in truth played much worse this season. Still, very disappointing. Season done. -

Best 45 for a while, and by some distance since the return. May still lose, but at least looking like a team. -
The Coronavirus and its impact on sport/Fans Return (Merged)

I suspect the vast majority of these are people being admitted to hospital for other reasons, with anything like a high temperature. In those cases it is vital to know who is positive and negative so that proper isolation can be applied. -

I know you like a bit of stats, and were discussing our approach... Boris said yesterday we are 4 weeks behind Italy and he hopes 13 weeks from the peak. On current trends we are only 2 weeks behind Italy but putting that to one side, I think the Government is judging that other countries have gone 'too early' and still have much much further to go. If Italy carry on their current growth trends for a further 9 weeks...well, its a scary thought. The aim seems to be that however much we try, we are all likely to end up getting it sooner rather than later, so best we try and 'flatten the curve'. Equally, there seems to a view that whilst shutting everything down will slow the thing, sooner or later the moment you relax, bam, it will be off and running again until we have built up some herd immunity (by basically enough of us having caught it). We clearly cannot shut down everything for ever. I am not sure we have it right...buying time is really precious right now. It might be Italy slow it right down and it explodes there again next winter and by then we are much better positioned. Equally, if a vaccine has been developed we will look a bit careless, to put it mildly. I think that is football done for this season either way. If the peak is 13 weeks away, and we are therefore curve wise back to where we are now in 26 weeks, no way are we in a better position three weeks away than we are now. -
Anyhow, I am the techie that has to put together Rovers ‘goal of the month’ montage. Not billing many hours for January in truth.

I think SL might have a quiet tipple this evening, content with a good days results.

EFL confirm extension to 5pm Tuesday to complete the sale.

Nottingham ones?

As far as I can follow it, the issue as he sees it is he has invested £x in the club aside from the nominal purchase price, and is holding out to get that back from any purchaser. Its complete head in the sands stuff, as if it goes under he is going to lose it all anyway I would have thought.

Just as an aside, I believe the actor who played Hitler in this died today. Must have been odd knowing you were most famous for this clip, used 1000s of times.

Bristol City v Stoke City Match Day 15
cityexile replied to havanatopia's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
It clearly wasn’t. First half they were on top. Second half, we were. Took a couple of great saves to give them the win. Concerned how poorly we are in the first half, but we were not rubbish, Little unlucky, balancing maybe the balance of luck in the last two games. -

On the second half unlucky not to get something from that, but equally can say over the previous two games lucky to get six, so one of those. An emerging trend is how poor we are first half of our games, and how it is the subs that shake it up. Our goal scoring has got very binary, although Fammy maybe unlucky overall. -

Second half been much better, and deserve overall to be level really. One of those days. -

Stoke deserving of their lead at HT, without being great. Muchlike the first half of the last two games, other than the other side managed to finish a chance. Not a great game really. Fammy had a couple of half chances, but we just seemed to have lacked urgency all over, and just seem to be not carrying much threat at all. -
Bristol City v Swansea City Match Day 5
cityexile replied to havanatopia's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Swansea much better second half, but we did something we have been rarely able to do, keep cohesion all over the pitch and dig out a 1-0. Love a one nil me. What a difference a week makes. Oddly, Fammy now back may give us a small issue...change a winning side? -
Bristol City v Swansea City Match Day 5

Well, not in truth how I expected this game to go, at all. Doing what we have done, Swansea certainly ahead on possession, but managed a grand total of one off target shot all half. We have created other than the goal some real chances and should most likely be more than one ahead. We have been compact, worked hard, and made it real difficult for them. Equally, surely Swansea cannot be so poor all game! -
Queens Park Rangers v Bristol City Match Day 4
cityexile replied to havanatopia's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
It’s odd that in some ways football wise I think that was our worst effort so far today. We seemed to change our style entirely and up to the first goal the game was tragic. If Fammy is out at all, we have to have a Plan B up front. QPR created more chances than a clean sheet warrants, but the mood would have been toxic if we had lost. Buys us a bit of time, which we certainly need!
