  1. Would be cheap....and wouldn't expect money to spend...
  2. Exactly that...Stop Bickering! Don't necessarily believe the bookies....
  3. Did he?....33% win ratio and only has 63 championship matches to his name?
  4. That would be very interesting...
  5. I don't think Beale will demand high wages regardless of his Rangers post....he's only been a number 1 for 65 matches in total..
  6. I agree...more likely to be someone like Michael Beale or Liam Manning... Michael Beale as a No1 = 65 games, Win %age 61% Liam Manning Career = 140 games, Win %age 47% Both will be a cheaper option than most and SL will like this
  7. I think on this occasion it will be a very quick appointment to cease all 'the noise' against the lansdowns....never before has a manager received so much backing and is far more popular (and probably more powerful) than the board itself
  8. I think he will get his health back on track (back operation) and probably retire and become a pundit in view that he speaks so well....
  9. Sounds like he may settle in the area in view that he adores the mendips etc... It won't happen, but I wouldn't blame him if he took the Rovers job...
  10. Reading this thread again, it just shows how 'out of touch' the owners are... All the best Nige (again)...
  11. In the words from the Mrs - 'He Didn't Stand a Chance'... The Mrs has endured 20+Years of my obsession with Bristol City. I'm 52 now and I have supported the club since 1977 so she's lucky it's not been a 45 year journey for her In the words of Emma, 'he didn't have no budget, he had lots of players injured, what more could he do?'... 'And the majority of fans wanted him to stay'... She added....'But his employers didn't like Nigel Pearson and that's the bottom line'... Summary....Lansdown can't handle any manager with a voice and simply wants a nicey chummy manager who will agree to everything he says... After 20 suffering years, even the Mrs has sussed out the board and how they operate.. Bizarrely...Nige did everything they asked for and still got the boot. Whilst Nige should be celebrating an extension of his contract, it's a termination of contract, simply down to the Lansdowns lack of football knowledge and connection with its fanbase. Rant over...from me (and the Mrs) Tomo
  12. Top Man, Top Manager. Poor Decision... I wish you all the very best of health and if you decide to retire Nige, enjoy that valuable time with your friends and family... It's very much 'what could have been' and I still can't understand the decision. Tomo
  13. Tomo

    He’s gone.

12 injuries and a fully united squad of players putting in 110% for the manager and he gets sacked... Only at Bristol City...
  14. Tomo

    He’s gone.

Absolutely disgusting... Shove your Eagle where the sun don't shine Lansdowns...
  15. I see Tomlin is on the pitch before kick off....he made more appearances for us (56 v 51) but they love him because we don't Bit sad really that Cardiff invited him back for today's encounter. He's hardly a legend playing just 51 times for them....
  16. Imo....90% of fans that attend games want Nigel's contract to be extended. Imo...80% of the overall fan base want Nigel's contract to be extended. Unfortunately Nige is not 'A YES MAN'... The Lansdowns like YES MEN and they will achieve nothing....
  17. Got mine this morning. Having done so many away matches, I have never done Cardiff as a fan which is mad (reported there a number of times against other championship clubs though and sometimes the atmosphere has been poor - not this one -!). Me and and my 13th year old Son are looking forward to this one! You Reds!
  18. Also, ignoring Luton who are now prem....
  19. Ignoring Ipswich, Wednesday and Plymouth who came up, there are only 4 championship clubs above us this year....double check that....
  20. I can't see PA walking at his age... Maybe Pearson wasn't happy with the relationship with PA and the Lansdowns (Steve and Jon) have suddenly realised that they have a good experienced manager that is willing (albeit reluctantly) to be on the 'Lansdown's Bus'. There is zero reason for Steve Lansdown to seek another manager at this time in view that the team are finally united and the wage bill has been significantly reduced. I think a new CEO will come in and NP will get at least a 1 or 2 year extension to his contract. If that doesn't happen, the club really is in a shambolic state.
