  1. Your best batsman by a country mile tearing his hamstring in a friendly against Exeter Uni has to be the most Somerset thing ever.
  2. Nothing better than the first day of cricket of the year, even if it is eight degrees and I’m sat here absolutely freezing.
  3. This is great banter, it really is.
  4. You’re either on wind up, or the thickest *** going around. Every single post is a complete steaming pile of turd. Well done.
  5. Obviously it didn’t happen against Leeds, but like in the Ipswich and Southampton (apparently we beat Southampton???) games I imagine we’ll play better today. This is overly simplistic, but when we can be reactive we’re still a reasonable team, it’s just when we have to be proactive we’re absolutely useless. It really is quite sad that you have to wait for games in which the opposition are likely to dominate the ball to feel that you might be even slightly entertained.
  6. 14 actually, but yes, we all wish you would move on.
  7. I’m sorry, but as someone who can’t possibly force myself through a Liam Manning press conference, the title of this thread isn’t genuine is it? Please tell me it isn’t genuine. Please.
  8. Nige is on Sky tomorrow, but not for the City game. He’s doing Blackburn v Ipswich and Watford v Leeds.
  9. Yeah fair play, that’s a bit over the top. That’ll teach me for scrolling and not reading properly.
  10. Still to this day probably the best I think I’ve seen us play at this level, absolutely incredible performance. As you say, that WBA draw was an absolutely brilliant game of football as well.
  11. Not one single person is outraged.
  12. There’ll be no sheepshaggers in Berlin
  13. Not exactly a surprise his team plays the most boring football seen at Ashton Gate in decades is it.
  14. Was stunned when reading this thread yesterday that OTIB’s resident nutcase had missed the opportunity to make yet another show of himself, glad he’s made up for it today. All is right with the world again.
  15. Try actual sentences if you want people to make sense of your horrendous opinions.
  16. Both of these also took over terrible teams in dire situations, while they both proved incapable of improving matters (although I do think O’Driscoll did good work behind the scenes but that’s a different conversation), nobody could argue they inherited a decent team and made them significantly worse. Manning took an over perfectly decent mid table team with a lot going for it, not world beaters, but organised, spirited and athletic. The speed in which he has turned that team into one that plays the worst football since Tony Pulis and takes 12 points from 14 games is staggering really. He also seems to have deprogrammed the players into never being able to do anything at pace, never showing any confidence, ambition or imagination and frankly looking like the broken shells of professional footballers. You can almost see them all constantly second guessing themselves.
  17. Thick as ******* mince.
  18. Yeah I disagreed with him here as well. He seemed to suggest that because he hadn’t been critical of individual players or blamed individual mistakes that he hadn’t therefore ‘thrown them under the bus’. Now the small snippets of Liam Manning that I force myself to watch post game he is almost always distancing himself from the players, talking about how well they’d been set up and how well they’ve been coached. It’s clear this is piling blame on the players while letting everyone know that’s he’s doing a great job. But to be honest, with the exception of what Pearson was trying to build here, that’s the culture at this club as far as I can see. Everyone looking to go under the radar and shift blame elsewhere. No leadership and certainly no togetherness. Right down to what has been abundantly clear since the Lee Johnson fiasco, that the ownership of this club see the fans at best as an irritation, at worst I actually think their view on us is much more hostile than that.
  19. Yeah I’ve read it, I thought describing watching City at the moment as ‘a strange spectacle’ was excellent. Really hit the nail on the head.
  20. Didn’t necessarily agree with everything he said, and he’s certainly more charitable towards Manning than I am, but I thought Piercey was an excellent addition, hope they use him more often. His level of knowledge and insight is so much higher than anybody that has previously covered us for the post.
