It’s a rarity, but I don’t think the ECB should be criticised for this.
As someone that has tickets to two of the games, thanks to rollovers from last summer, I would much prefer watching an England B team, that still has some very good players in it, play Pakistan than to have another thing cancelled.
Selfishly though of course I’d rather Craig and Lewis were left to play the much more important games for Somerset!

Set his career back by having him in endless bubbles not playing any cricket..
Wait for him to find form..
Get him back in that bubble not playing cricket. Genius as ever from those ******* idiots.

You go seven years without losing a series at home, you decide to put some gas into the team and you instantly lose.
Hope they’ve learnt their lesson. No gas. Ever.

Matthew Elliott was the batsman Thorpe dropped off Mike Smith.

But I honestly thought the umpires were going to offer bad light for a moment.
Oh so did I. Lammonby kind of turned to his right and I thought they were walking off..

Almost impressive this from Hampshire to try and not bowl a ball..

Some of the lbws not given in this game (for both teams).. good lord.
You just know we’ll knock these off two down..

Alex Wharf really doesn’t like people playing cricket does he.

Somerset won’t get a lead.
Well thank god they’ve proven me wrong about this at least.

Somerset won’t get a lead.

Not exactly confident about our top order against Abbott and Abbas here to be honest!
-
Can’t think there have been too many batsmen on their first class debut that have looked as assured as Goldsworthy has in both innings here.

Surely Somerset won't be giving the ok for losing Abell, Banton and Gregory for the resumption?
Abell was asked before the season on the radio and was pretty dismissive when saying he would obviously be staying and playing for Somerset. Would assume that to also the case with Gregory and Banton.

What a win!
Hope Middlesex enjoyed that after the stitch up in 2016 and the endless crying about the pitch in 2017. Slugs.

Will we ever learn to play spin?
With a county championship being played in spring and autumn rather than summer, and with an an attitude that pitches designed to help 75mph seamers are fine, but pitches that aid spinners are cheating that require points deductions, I’d go for no.

Sensational form from Bairstow since he arrived back on tour.

This is the type of session I expected to see a lot more of in this series.
Washington Sundar would bat in our top three if he was English.

This Anderson bloke is decent. Think he’ll have a career.

I’m going to go against the grain here, but I think batting aggressively is the right way to go here.
Only Root is good enough to really back his defensive game on here, so the rest should just counter attack and try and get as many as they can before they get out to be honest. Don’t see any success coming from poking about.

Fair play, this third umpire is a character.

You couldn’t make it up that Pope has done that well against the spin to then get strangled down the leg side first ball from Siraj.

Ten missing players. No overseas. What a win.
