    Id have him back tomorrow.

He was struggling in the Champ. I’ll give you he was maybe having issues with support from Landsdown but I still think he would have struggled

  2. SOD like many managers, who we’ve had over the last few decades, have mostly all been managers who’ve been successful prior to coming here and most fans have been wanting to be here. All have pretty much failed. Why?

I’m thinking pretty much all after Joe Jordan bar Gary Johnson have failed pretty much

Been apathetic since Cotts was sacked.

I think that would have been likely at most clubs. Not disagreeing with the theme of this thread

  4. My two penneth (don't know if I've spelt that right) having only listened to the second half is that we don't know if staying in a 433 would have made things any easier for us second half or not. Who knows if playing 433 second half Boro might have scored earlier and so given them the momentum to get an equaliser, we might have got a third. We don't know. Things we probably do know though.

    - Boro would have come out having had a rollicking for the first half and come out all guns blazing, nothing to lose kind of.

    - Our players have played a lot of games the past fortnight, never mind just the 120 mins on Wednesday so even those that didn't play Wednesday would be suffering a bit. Boro had 6 days prep and a lot less recent travelling.

    - We were desperate to get our first win of 2024

    - We were 2-0 up and so had a cushion to defend.

    - We've played with 3/5 at the back before successfully

So taking all those things into account going to a back 3 was not a hair brained crazy thing to do, but we won't ever know if staying with 433 would have been any better. Its all theory and jecture.

The kind of thing a forum is for.

The question I have tho is this, did Boro come out fired up? Or did us changing our shape and therefore our mentality cause them to come out fired up and on the front foot?

Why ask the question when you've already decided what the answer is in your head.

4 games and 390 minutes of raised performance levels is not a one off crack at better opposition in the cup. The championship is relentless and doesn't often work in straight lines, I know, but it's still frustrating. Under Manning we've certainly had some games where there's been a questionable drop in levels. It makes the 'it's just where we are' argument lose a little bit of credibility when we've shown what we are truly capable of now, even with a depleted squad. I'm sure LM feels the same. Not expecting top 6, but neither am I happy to accept 14th and a dead end to the season in February either.

I would think that most fans expectations at the start of the season would be that our season would be pretty much over by now. Not that as a player or a coach you’d see it that way. It’s all about the next game and improving performances week on week and striving for the consistency that you need to have a chance of getting out of this very tough league.

i say tough, unless you’ve just come down from the prem that is.

As fans we need to do the same. Dust ourselves down and go again for the next game.

Any number of rugby and basketball fans could be Hammers or simply buy up and sell.

Some toff rocks up to the Dolman in full Bobby More outfit and has a hissy fit when knocked back 😁

Seriously though, if it never occurred to the club that you dont have to be a city fan to follow the rugby and basketball teams then there are even more ******** in BS than I thought !

Why would the powers at be care? It’s sadly the way football clubs today are run. Don’t care who buys the tickets long as the money is coming in.

if we think it’s difficult getting tickets for this match try getting tickets to watch Liverpool at Anfield. My lad supports them along with City and I looked into getting tickets. You can membership tickets like you can at here but those memberships just get you entered into a lottery to get tickets as there members is more than available seats.

If we ever get to the promised land I would expect it to be the same here.

I still haven’t had the confirmation email and can’t add the tickets to my Apple wallet from the City app either. Just get an error message

I tell a lie. I do have the email confirmation. Can’t add the tickets in my phone though. Get this error
