Am I missing something here? Why have the council allowed them to use the stand? If it was safe enough to use, why isn’t it now publicly open for all their games? Something smells of gas….

Ave you seen what they call a concourse ffs

  2. Looked like 40 or so City fans ran straight into West Ham large group, police horses responded but as I walked close by I was surprised the city crowd had a lot of ,sounded like polish lads with them ,are they Bristol polish ?

Yeah imagine we stay where we are and, say,Bournemouth stayed in the Prem for the next 20 years. We wouldn’t like it, but the truth would be that they were MUCH bigger than us. That is how Rovers are right now. They may be in denial, but they would be embarrassed in the Championship.

You have to remember they have 3 old x city rejects in first team Wilson ( played for us about 20 years ago ) hunt and Martin plus they have 5 players from other teams .So their fans are supporting XCity and other teams from around U.K. end of season these players go back and they have to start again .That wouldn’t get you 10 points in championship + the cost of championship would kill em -max 11000 when stand is eventually open per week they’d have to charge £50 ticket just to survive

  4. Knight is a quality player others could take a leaf from his book , it’s time for a few of the boys to become men tomorrow and for the rest of season , time to grow a pair and stop hanging on other players shirt tales , there are players out there who should be greatfull for SL paying them a wage /players who with a little more commitment can become good footballers but they need to believe in themselves

anyway good luck tues let’s smash it

My season ticket is in the middle of a punch of POTD tickets in the Dolman and there’s a group of (what I’d guess is!) Polish guys who’ve started rocking up in full city hats and scarves combos, and seem to enjoy the games more than everyone else around them. Had some Americans and Chinese groups for the odd game too. Think it’s a good sign if non-Bristolians fancy a game down the gate (as long as it doesn’t go to Man Utd levels)

The polish groups are getting bigger as they have fallen in love with the red and white maybe we should try to sign a polish striker again

I met a chap in pub last home game he’s a season ticket holder from Cambridge doesn’t miss a game

with home games to come including Cardiff Swansea Leicester Leeds and Southampton and cup full house our average this season should push 24000 and that’s fantastic

Agree. Talking of our facilities, I know it’s smaller, but, for me, our concourse is far more inviting than what we experienced at the London Stadium on Sunday (of course, I’m assuming that the West Hams fans have the same environment as us away fans).

Our concourse seemed bigger and a lot more food drink outlets than West Ham had to me

Going on our attendances over the last year or so and our away support especially this season at most ( not all games ) I have to admit I personally think it’s been pretty impressive

When you take into consideration how poor our form has been over the last 2-4 years with the club in the same division and pretty much treading water our attendances have held up very well . Any big game now be it cup , localish Derby ( as we ain’t had a proper Derby against the other lot for ages now ) the tickets seemed to be snapped up pretty much before getting to general sale every time ( take note if we ever get to prem ) why has our support held up and if not held up improved without taking steps forward on the pitch. Is Ashton gate a more pleasant match day experience for the average fan ( not the hardcore we want our east end back fan Ashton gate will never be the same for them me included ) or are we gaining more fans that would have gone to the blue few as we deffo seem higher profile than them now and obviously get better teams come to Ashton gate with better players and quality players . I’m pretty sure the way things are with our current fan base IF we did ever get to the prem in the near future all games would be a sellout and full allocation would be taken for every away game.
    Your thoughts fellow reds

I think your spot on as jon lansdown put in his Christmas letter our average support is over 22000 and we still have some big games at home , we would definitely hit the 27000 mark if in the prem week in week out and I’m sure if we beat West Ham and get forest home this too will be sold out so as things stand this season must be seen as an improvement but where do we go from here ie ground development size

  9. I think there is a valid call for this safe standing area , and for me can only be in the south stand ( old east end ) I can’t see point of dolman having it , as I said for me the old east end is where we should be as an END for people to congregate and cheer on their team it’s always been the end and should return that way as fans scattered around ground in small groups has a negative effect as we seen yesterday with 50 + thousand West Ham spread around a  soulless stadium

  10. I agree with the guy at start of post , the whole of south stand should be safe standing I’ve got bad knees and in my 70s but really enjoyed the stand/lean experience of safe standing which without doubt lent to fantastic atmosphere yesterday and May I remind people who say I don’t want to move from my seat , ITS NOT YOURS it’s the clubs your only renting and if it becomes safe standing and doesn’t suit you If your a true red you’ll just move to where it does suit EASY
