  1. The behaviour of fans of all clubs, not just Liverpool
  2. Sorry Tony but that is an awful attitude. Hillsbrough could have happened to any team. That was a combination of being caged in, a situation and the bloody awful police attitude to controlling football fans, Both things brought about by the behaviour of fans of EVERY club over the preceding decades. Heysel was caused by a crumbling stadium. Fans surging at each other was nothing new on the terraces wherever you went in those days, and it was a poorly maintained wall collapsing under the pressure that killed people that evening.
  3. Poison Idea - Bank Blackout Vacant Rush - Permanent Waves Frank Zappa - Joe's Garage Act 1 The Get Up Kids - Something To Write Home About The Specials - The Specials
  4. That was my take as well until, on re-reading it talks about watching it on 'The Big Screen' - the only one I can think of apart from the Sports Bar is the one on the outside?
  5. Is that still going? Last time I heard it, it was Robbie Savage and some other guy and it was terrible! Has to be put out of its misery at some point doesn't it?
  6. 3 Central midfielders putting in a decent shift and we look much better for it
  7. If you were being generous you could plausibly see how he maybe left his phone unlocked at training and a teammate thought he'd have some 'bants'. Not particularly close to being hacked though
  8. He got his 60 goals in 39 games, so not a huge difference. Personally I think he will fall a little short. Done amazingly but would be astounded if there wasn't a dip at some point in the season
  9. All quite possibly true, but that is not what this thread is about.
  10. Of the 4 I think I would go (in order) - JET, Jacki, Tomlin, Trundle All had their moments, but JET on his day made everything look effortless and just oozed class from every pore.
  11. Very true, though a lot of those tracks can still be appreciated and enjoyed, even more so when you are aware of their history and place in the grand scheme of things. Trouble with the Goon Show is, even with that knowledge, it's almost unlistenable. I guess the TV Comedy equivalent would be the Young Ones? That is still funny. BTW, if you are at all interested in Rock n Roll, how it came about, just how revolutionary it was etc. then can I recommend 'A History Of Rock Music in 500 Songs' podcast? It's currently on episodes in the 150's which has brought the story up towards the end of the 1960's, but I would most certainly suggest you listen from the beginning (if you have time). Interesting and knowledgable from the beginning. A must listen in my mind.
  12. I quite enjoy HHH and some of the others on R4Extra, but the one that many people seem to regard as the creme de la creme, but I cannot stand, is The Goon Show. it's bloody awful, I just don't get it.
  13. Didn't know him but sounds very much a true City fan. RIP Rich
  14. Only caugt the last ten minutes or so but it seemed almost like a frame by frame homage to the original series! Caught the end of Phoenix From The Flames and saw the Trundle singing. The set is more or less an exact copy from what I remember as well.
  15. If you can't suspend disbelief for the Hobbit, it's probably best you steer clear of LotR altogether
  16. A very public apology is due to the ballboy surely?
  17. If you've got it, as opposed to testing positive whilst asymptomatic, you're likely fairly ill and won't be fit to play.
  18. Is that the one that covers up until about 1987? Magnificent book and was the main source of data up to that date for the Citystats website when it was created. Shame I've lost my copy somewhere now
  19. I always used to believe this but there was one in (I think) the 1920's, a team you usually think of as a league side but they weren't then. Aldershot or something I think.
  20. I think that was a few years later, a non league side at AG bit I can't remember who. Kingstonian maybe? Tony Thorpe scored the last minute equaliser from memory.
  21. Ummm no, what people are saying is that you really don't know how Charlton's game and mentality would have adapted to modern football and training methods so, whilst it is quite possible he would still be amongst the greats, it is also possible that he may have been one of the ones that fall by the wayside because he just wasn't suited to it.
  22. I think he means one weekday evening game and one weekend 3pm game instead of two evening games.
  23. Lincoln did, Gainsborough Trinity are the team being talked about as never relegated until then. Had me confused for a while. P. S. Weston were similar, their relegation from National League South a couple of season's back was the first in their history.
  24. Why would next weekend's game be at risk? Only possible reason I can think of is police being drafted into London to take part in Funeral rehearsals, and I can't imagine Burnley v City is a very police intensive match.
