  1. Didn't it used to be 12,000? I presume it has now been lowered as they wouldn't have been able to afford the extra stewarding for checking Covid passes when they were required as I believe 10,000 was the threshold for it?
  2. Bunch of no-marks, whatever their age. Always have been, always will be. It doesn't matter how many books they write trying to make out they were in some way important. The only thing they did of any importance was to drag football through the mud and leave us with the 'sterilised' evironment we have now. They love to complain about 'modern football', but it is a direct consequence of their behaviour from the 60's through to the end of the 80's.
  3. Neither of those are anywhere near the worst. Not the best admittedly, but a million miles from the worst.
  4. There are maybe 20-30 people in Ashton Gate for any given game that I would know well enough to say hello to if I saw them. You've managed to pick two of them, what are the odds? Looking forward to it.
  5. Arsenal Man Utd Man City Everton Tottenham Chelsea Liverpool Wolves Preston Southampton Derby Leeds Forest Newcastle Aston Villa West Ham Sheffield Wednesday Stoke Sunderland Portsmouth Huddersfield just lose out because it's so long ago for them.... Honourable mentions to Burnley, Leicester, Norwich, Ipswich and Sheffield Utd
  6. I'm on 74 games with 97% win and a max streak of 21. Had 2 failures.
  7. Taylor Hawkins, drummer of the Foo Fighters https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-60884259 A great shock - he was a great person and drummer.
  8. Has the one on the left been given a medal for "services to the gas" ?
  9. I think he might have been trying to be funny, difficult to tell though
  10. Would there be any value in betting on FGR to NOT get promoted? They are 1/200 for promotion so guess you could get good odds the other way. Not quite sure on how that sort of bet works though.
  11. The game was just 56 seconds old when Abraham became the first Englishman to reach 14 goals in a Serie A season since Gerry Hitchens for Inter Milan 60 years ago.
  12. Do you somehow believe that SL is making a profit from all this? The whole sporting quarter thing may turn it around and indeed turn a profit in the future, but SL has always said that his intention is for the whole shebang to be self sustaining leaving a legacy that will live on beyond him. It's nothing underhand. He's not been perfect of course, his taste in managers leaves a lot to be desired and some of the staff appointments have been questionable, but I do believe his heart is in it and he is doing his best. The facilities he has now built, whilst not Man City, are easily mid to lower Prem standard. We just need the right combination of staff, players and luck to see us follow to that level on the pitch, and I have no doubt it will happen in the next few years. What is happening here is for the long tem, not just a fleeting couple of seasons.
  13. I presume it's some kind of fewers in-joke, don't understand at all, even after reading the twitter replies. Bizarre
  14. Couldn't they just tell the players that if they want to give their shirts away then feel free to give it to a kid waiting on the sidelines or whatever, but absolutely do not give it to someone that has run on the pitch. Make it clear that this is the policy and parents will soon stop sending their kids out there. You might get more begging signs but that is hardly a big issue.
  15. How on earth can punching someone in the head being a penalty offence be described as the game being soft?
  16. Will give it a listen. I only mentioned those two in particular as the post I was replying to did.
  17. Oh **** off. Great players as they were, and fun as they were to watch, the game moved on. You do realise that, in the 70's when Gow and Hunter were plying their trade, the stands were full of old gits bemoaning modern football, exclaiming 'the games gone soft'. In reality, the players got better and the rules slowly evolved to protect the better players meaning that you can't make a career in football by just kicking people any more. People aren't 'softer' these days, they just don't need to constantly prove how 'hard' they are because life has generally improved. Just look at the number of Ukranians giving up everything and going home to fight for their country as soon as the need has arisen. Unfortunately, the older generations have bemoaned the young for time immemorial and will no doubt continue to do so. It doesn't make the older generations right.
  18. Nothing un-PC about that, it's just a joke after all. Problem is, isn't the guy in agony on the floor the one that just took the knee?
  19. Going to run out of wickets I think. Great effort though!
  20. I'm sorry I've had to stop listening as well, I need something to pass the time on the endless M4/M5 trips! It does come across, whenever I've listened in the past, that Iam is treated with a reverence not afforded to other contrbutors, whether it's a concious thing or not. I also don't get the defence that other pods worry about upsetting the club. None of them are affilliated in any way, and are free to say what they like about Bristol City, and often do!
