  1. I'm afraid I have had to take FBC off of my podcast following list. The sound issues make it almost unlistenable most weeks, and when you can hear Ian is insufferable! I have recently started listening to the 3 Peaps bonus shows and they are exactly what FBC is striving to be, giving a more serious and insightful counterpoint to the more irreverent but always enjoyable OSIB. I'm sorry Dave, but the sounds does need sorting and the Ian worship as some kind of tactical genius needs to stop. I seem to remember Ian's masterful plan to improve results a few weeks back was 'stop letting the opposition shoot so much'. On the plus side, your other contributors are generally decent and know what they are on about.
  2. With NTTDS you never know, he could be going to the match on Tuesday but be looking for somewhere to stay the night before, or maybe even Wednesday!
  3. Does this mean that, when the singing section (ugh, can't we just call it Section 82?) all shout at the ref to draw his attention to the ball being outside the quadrant at the first opposition corner every match thewre are people doing it because they genuinely think it's an illegal placement? I thought it was just being done because it's funny. Having said that, it has promted refs to come and check a couple of times.
  4. Your match previews were great - bring 'em back!
  5. I think 'prefer not to say' might have been the polite version ?
  6. No need to shout. It would appear not, bunker down and shout at people is the procedure now. it would be way too much to think the players were taking the knee because they actually think it's the right thing to do.
  7. Not when it's an accurate description. I said you were continuing to spread lies after they were shown to be lies, which is exactly what you were doing.
  8. Not sure I like heardle too much. If it's a song I know I'll get it straight away, if I've never heard it no matter how much playing or thinking will get it. At least with the words and numbers ones you can think about it and work it out.
  9. It's not a different opinion, it's a matter of fact. The players take the knee because they want to, not because they have been ordered to. If you are going to repeatedly spread lies then expect people to get pissed off wirh you.

I have no idea who they are, but if it's only 8 of them it makes their efforts even more impressive. The only real atmosphere in the ground comes from that corner, especially when we're not playing well, though it's a shame that, after the exodus around 37 minutes yesterday the whole area was less than half full and not a peep was heard from them (almost understandably, but still a shame). I really do think though, that the name Section 82 has come to mean that corner of the ground, mainly because the term 'singing section' is cringey as hell.

Could you let me know who Section 82 are? When people talk about Section 82 I've always imagined it referring to the physical location in the ground rather than a group of people. I'm sure I wouldn't be alone in that misapprehension.

Hi Rob, I'm perfectly aware that he was likely to receive a reaction, that's why it's against the rules after all, but it doesn't avoid the fact that the people who respond with violence are ignorant thugs and the fact he was there and celebrating really shouldn't be an excuse.

I think you'll find most fans (including myself) use the name Section 82 to refer to the whole of that corner.

He did indeed break the rules, so should have been removed by the stewards and/or police. If he started swinging punches unprovoked then people would be quite within their rights to restrain him and hand him over to the police. An opposition supporter shouldn't be in the home section, it's against the rules as Dave points out, but it really wouldn't provoke me to violence if they did. Why is that a baffling opinion?

I know exactly how I would react if an away fan started celebrating next to me, I would ignore him and be quietly depressed at the state of our defence. Why should they need to be respectful? You should be able to celebrate your team scoring without fear of a hiding from thugs sat around you. If they're not supposed to be there let the stewards and/or police deal with them, no need for fools to take the matter into their own hands.

Well that's embarrassing. The guy probably shouldn't have celebrated as thugs do indeed exist, but people can't handle it and feel the need to use violence? Pathetic.

  18. If you renewed this season after the previous two then lack of entertainment isn't going to be your issue. Home matches this season are at a 3-4 year high for the enjoyment factor!
  19. It amazes me how small a part of our turnover Season Tickets are, it must be in the region of £4million a year, and compared to £36million losses it's a fairly small portion. Having said that, any change made to the price will result in hundreds of thousands increased or reduced income, which is still a fuckload of money. They need to walk a fine line on prices between making sure they sell enough to get decent crowds, whilst not giving them away too cheaply. A sold out ground every week would result in increased food and drink income for sure, but could also end up hitting the longstanding fan on a limited budget that suddenly finds there are no tickets available when they have the funds to go!
  20. Just found this from @TomF in an old thread, so maybe my memory isn't that terrible....
  21. Every time I hear about Allan Stanford I get a hazy memory of Steve Lansdown going to watch cricket in the West Indies as his guest? Am I completely mad with this or does it ring a bell with anybody else?
  22. That has to be one of the most misguided, twisted logic posts I've ever seen on here. This whole "what can I be offended by?" culture is a myth put out there by some media sources desperate to start an inter-generational culture war in a pathetic bid to stay relevant. What exactly is a 'proper perspective on the real issues'? I often see people called out for offensive views on things, but not exactly sure what you mean by being cancelled. Do you have a decent example? Brexit was, in the main, the fault of the over 60's. I also fail to see what would have been wrong with Jeremy Corbyn et al in government, they would have made a darn sight better job of it all than the current shower. At least they would be trying to do things for the good of the people rather than just making sure their rich chums are OK. I can also see no blame being attributed to the UK and US by Jeremy Corbyn, his tweets are calling for peace and condemning Russia so far as I can see. Did you imagine thar bit? It would seem that you are very angry about young people. Nothing new there, older generations have always looked down on the younger. That Malbec might help you calm down a little.
