  1. The EFL is “incredibly frustrated” by the failure of goal-line technology (GLT) during Sunday’s Championship match between Huddersfield Town and Blackpool. Huddersfield were denied an equaliser when Yuta Nakayama’s effort crossed the line, only for GLT to fail to detect the goal. Blackpool ended up winning the match 1-0, after Theo Corbeanu had earlier scored his third goal in four matches. The error means Huddersfield remain in the Championship relegation zone, with just four points from their opening seven matches. In a statement, the EFL it was “incredibly frustrated that a technology failure at Huddersfield Town and Blackpool has overshadowed a fantastic weekend of action on the pitch The statement added: “We have now received an initial assessment from Hawk-Eye, the providers of the Goal Line Technology service in the Championship, that during a second-half incident with Huddersfield attacking, the match officials did not receive a signal to their watch or earpiece as, due to multiple factors, the ball was no longer being tracked following it entering the Blackpool goal area. “Separately, PGMOL have confirmed officials were unsighted due to obstruction by players and therefore unable to award a goal. “Whilst the system was tested and functional prior to the start of the game, further information is expected from both Hawk-Eye and PGMOL following a full review of the incident. “Technology is there to support the decision-making processes of match officials in the Championship and it failing in such a manner on Sunday is a matter of great concern. “For clarity, the referee’s decision is final and the match result stands.” The Huddersfield incident is not the first time Hawk-Eye have suffered a technological fault that cost a team a goal.
  2. From the "Athletic" Shortage of planes causing problems for Premier League clubs It may not be something most of us will ever have to think about, but a shortage of private planes is causing a real headache for Premier League clubs. Before Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat at Leeds United earlier this month, Thomas Tuchel’s squad had to travel to Yorkshire using three 14-seater aircraft. The coaching staff followed by bus because there was a technical issue with the original aircraft that had been booked. Tuchel’s side endured a problematic journey to Elland Road On August 7, Brighton & Hove Albion flew back to Gatwick Airport in Sussex from Manchester after their 2-1 win against Manchester United. The aircraft had to drop off Graham Potter’s side and then go straight to Stansted Airport in Essex to pick up Manchester City, who had been playing at West Ham. Another club reports having to pay as much as three times the cost of an equivalent trip this time last year. “Nobody saw it coming,” says one Premier League executive. “It’s hit us all at the same time — a real conspiracy of circumstances that has caught everyone out.” The impact of COVID-19 has forced some airlines out of business but other issues include a shortage of crew, higher fuel prices and a particular lack of bigger planes. Ideally clubs want enough seats for 50-60 staff but only smaller aircraft with a capacity of 25 or 30 people are available, meaning key individuals fly and the rest travel by coach. Many Premier League clubs do not like using propeller aircraft, either, and prefer private jets because they look more slick and professional. It is hoped the situation will ease slightly after the peak holiday season.
  3. I was surprised he was not in the squad, as it was on one of the Blackburn sites he was down to be in the squad. Am I forgiven for telling lies?
  4. The 72 EFL clubs some time ago voted long distance match's for mid week games, that suits the 1st and 2nd division teams,BUT not Championship clubs For those who drive to games, which I don't, best set of fixtures in a long long time at the start of the season Hull, Wigan , Blackpool and Blackburn Burnley all SATURDAYS Everyone should have had a good nights sleep, all games with a approx four journey time and a three hour day light journey back home. Best set of fixtures in a long time.

  10. Just gone through my recordings from last saturdays games City were on Bristol DAB 95:5(the somerset frequencey) and freeview 719 and 722. The other lot WERE on 1566MW, somerset DAB, 94:9 and 104:6 in Bath. The team from East devon or is it Norff Devon? were not covered as their games are allowed to broadcast over the internet. Like I have said so many times, get a freeview aerial installed,at lest you will get City games every other week in crystal clear mono.any where in the South West of England
  11. Fair enough, but it suits when suits the EFL. I am still amazed(although pleased) that the EFL allowed their EFL games to broadcast on freeview in the viewers/listeners area. See you at Blackburn on Saturday and Norwich in two weeks time?
  12. The premier league are allowed to broadcast their games over the internet if your listening in the U.K. The nathional league(thats where Yeovil are,and the other were) is allowed to broadcast its games over the internet So why does the EFL block their games being broadcast over the internet? Even talksport 2 is allowed to broadcast the EFL games with out restricitions
  13. That will bring a smile all those Bristol City ex-pats who live outside the U.K.

Considering over 1,000 had been sold and it was also pay on the day announced in advance Quick maths lesson 25 rows multiplied by the length of the rows(75) equates to approx 1,900 seats Our section did not look only two thirds full, although there seem to a few gaps as you look at the pitch on our left hand side
