Been an old World Cup so far. 4 0-0 draws. A few 1-0's, a few hammerings and 2 major upsets. If you are glass half empty you may say it has been boring, but I think those shocks have made it far from it.

I agree, it's nauseating. Wales and their passionate fans, Geordies and Mackems 'Love' their club. Surely everyone is passionate and loves the team they support. The way the media report it.. English = Hooligans/Thugs Scotland/Wales/Ireland = Passionate.

Fair play to Saudi Arabia, they have played their hearts out and their high line has actually worked. Two great goals as well.
-
VAR up to its old tricks again then
-
Ecuador definitely took their foot off the gas in the 2nd half against Qatar, I think to keep the scoreline respectable and to not humiliate Qatar. It was probably one of the worst World Cup performances I have ever seen. Qatar looked like they'd struggle in League 2.

Good result for England

USA could cause us problems with their pace on the counter

This is what happens when we play 4 at the back and play without fear. Bellingham outstanding, MOTM

Not sure how to feel about it tbh. I thought he'd downed tools a little bit for City over the last month leading up to the World Cup, I can hardly blame him as he may never get this chance again but at the same time I think a player should be professional still and giving 100% for their club.

Can't see a thread but Rob Edwards is in at Luton...

Very strange to start the season at arch rivals Watford and then by November be at Luton -
We've missed him for our attacking play and his set pieces.

Biggest narcissist in Football who has been exposed. Never the GOAT for me

It's a Rugby song. The corporates at the FA love it though

We did have Akinbiyi who was on fire for us in the Championship that season

Iran also managed by Carlos Queiroz who knows the English game very well whilst being assistant to Ferguson at Man United. He will set them up to frustrate us. We struggled against Tunisia in 2018 with those types of tactics. In the last World cup in a group containing Spain, Portugal and Morocco they gained 4 points, whilst being knocked out and arguably the weakest football nation in that group that's a solid return from them. They are no mugs and will be a tough nut to crack I think.

Be hugely disappointed if Mings makes it. He's awful in my opinion and we have at least 10 better centre backs
-
I don't think USA, Iran or Wales are mugs at all. Iran drew with Portugal in 2018 and have recently beat Uruguay in a friendly. USA and particularly Wales will raise their game to play us. It's a banana skin and not a given. We have seen with England in the past that they can choke against 'less fancied' Nations.

I don't mean to sound negative but it will come across this way. It's the media who are to blame for this, they rarely discuss foreign league's and our player's in these Leagues so the casual fan isn't really aware unless they do their own research. As for England as a squad, I don't believe we are as good as our Media hype will make us out to be. We have 2 or 3 good players but not anywhere near enough to really take a tournament by the scruff of the neck and beat every team in sight. When I look at our defenders that we have and compare it to 15 years ago, absolutely none of them would have got in the entire squad let alone the team. We just aren't as good as what the National media will make us out to be and every other Country will fancy their chances against us right now I think. Realistically England should be looking to get through the group and Quarter finals will be the ceiling this time around at the very best. However it is exciting to see young talents like Bellingham and Saka come through who I believe are genuinely top prospects for the next 10 years.

You come across very rude towards the podcast and repeatedly spout negativity towards it on OTIB whenever the podcast has been announced. I think we're lucky to have a variety of different pods as a club and i'm grateful for Headhunter, Ian, Lez, Mark, Davefevs for putting it out there for us to listen to. If you don't like it, don't listen and stop posting negativity about it

Are we the biggest underachievers in British football?

All 3 bigger clubs than us -
Are we the biggest underachievers in British football?

Ourselves and Plymouth Argyle are probably the biggest underachievers in English football by a long way in terms of fanbase, infrastructure, catchment area -
That's what I always use. After years of going around looking for a space about 15 minute walk away, just decided to give up and use the apps since last season.

Good luck is all I can say , it's an absolute nightmare these days getting from Trowbridge across Bath and through South Bristol to AG at times

Delighted for Chippenham as a Wiltshire man. Best team in Wiltshire
