  1. We really needed a win tonight to stop the run we were on and we deservedly won in my opinion, so a good night i'd say
  2. From 1996 until WC in 1998 I think that was probably the strongest England side in my life time. Unfortunately Hoddle went off the rails after the World cup and started talking crap to the press and was done. I think at that time he was in the middle of evolving the old guard (Shearer, Sheringham, Seaman, Adams, Pearce, Ince) into the so called 'Golden Generation' which unfortunately was not headed by him. We then made some awful Managerial decisions.
  3. I think the set pieces could be defended much better. Too many players marking space and not opposition players. Vyner in particular has always been awful from defending set pieces as a defender.
  4. At Blackpool - 2 awfully defended set pieces where Bentley was planted to the spot. Birmingham - 3 set pieces where again Bentley planted to the spot. Norwich - Not necessarily his fault but shocking marking from a corner which ended up being their winning goal. Not all down to Bentley but it is clear opponents have targeted set pieces to score against us as we are shocking at clearing our lines and mark 'space' instead of the opposition. Bentley is too rooted to the spot amongst all of this. It's dreadful

    Weimann

We are shoehorning him into the side. His best position is striker. His best spells in a City shirt have been as a striker. Play him in that position or not at all as he ineffective out wide or as a CAM.

    Weimann

He is a striker not an attacking midfielder
  7. Maenpaa was a better keeper in Bentley who just doesn't command his area enough for me
  8. Yep. It's obvious what they will do against us, put us under pressure, load the box from set pieces and then we start playing within ourselves. This has been the case for 3 years now, it's not good enough. Hannibal Mejbri? Is everything we think Massengo is by the way
  9. We were absolutely abysmal and it is the worst display since Pearson took over. A few players out there who I am embarassed to call them City players after yesterday (wont name names). I can't think of anything positive other than Pring looked ok when he came on. What worries me the most is how little we are suddenly creating since Norwich away. The confidence of the players looks absolutely shot and a few in my opinion would benefit from hitting the gym because Birmingham bullied our players
  10. The worst performance under Pearson in my opinion
  11. That's the game I remember him from, never forgot his name since. Had an absolute mare that day
  12. How is Linington still refereeing at this level? Been awful for years
  13. It is like a kid from an Under 13's team playing for the Under 10's at times. It is freightening how good he is. Also Foden, has been immense for Man City this season
  14. Well he did, and we lost. Just because you like a person does not omit them from any form of criticism
  15. Yes I definitely think that NP should have kept the shape and team when we got 1 goal back. We had them penned into their box at that time and the momentum was going our way. Maybe he had an eye on a lot of games coming up but I think we'd have got an equaliser if the team had stayed the same.
  16. Agreed about Messi. Football fans compare his goal ratio with Ronaldo but in truth he is more than that. He's a playmaker who scores goals for fun. The best passer, dribbler, goalscorer, assist maker and he's up there with the best free kick taker of the last 40 years at least. The only one who can compare for me is Maradona
  17. Had quite a few memorable home games vs QPR over the years. 07/08 opening day great game, 03/04 crunch match 1-0 win and for some reason I remember being fuming losing 3-1 at home to them in 02/03. Jon Stead beauty on Sky 2010/11 1-1 draw. A regular fixture for us and I think they'll be tough this weekend, got some tricky players
  18. I am looking forward to watching other Nations like Brazil and Argentina who tend to play on the front foot currently. I don't think any European team right now are really on it and none look very exciting which doesn't help.
  19. Agree, I think it has become rather personal and out of order specifically from Man Utd fans towards him. He's a human, not a robot. Should have not played these 2 games to take attention away from him. Says a lot about his character that he keeps on giving his best, but it just hasn't been good enough over the last year. It's a shame
  20. Thanks. I've had a woeful weekend and being called a moron by a fellow City fan on a football forum just for an opinion has made things all the better. But I suppose you will go to bed happy knowing it's got to me.
  21. Football, bloody hell ? Thanks ? It's a football forum and we are allowed opinions. You don't know me or my background to really judge so thanks
  22. The guy is on the wind up tonight, ignore the troll
