I’d suggest that the fan base is less fickle than the current board, who seem to regularly put in new “pillars” to the club ethos, which they then continue to promptly ignore, all whilst finding new ways to deflect any criticism heading their way.

I wouldn't say our fanbase is fickle, at all actually.

We're a mid tier club in terms of English football. We have very similar sized clubs around us in the League (Preston, Cardiff, Swansea, Millwall, QPR, Huddersfield, Hull) who have all in the last 20-30 years tasted some kind of success by reaching cup finals or the top flight. We've come close just the once in that time.

During this time we have seen a handful of clubs surpass us in the Leagues and reach the top flight and prolong their stay there, whilst we bumble around the two middle divisions, doing not a lot.

If we are fickle it is because this club is starved of any kind of success, for god sake we commemorate matches in the FA Cup 5th round from 50 years ago if that's not a tell tale sign of how little we've had to really celebrate then I don't know what to say.

I just think a lot of the fanbase are just now bored and fed up, it's rinse and repeat under Steve and Jon Lansdown and the whole surrounding area around Ashton Gate just feels like the energy has been sucked out the place in recent times.

    It's depressing.

Back. I want to see where this goes.

Yeah this is a shout. The club rolled the dice in October, it's their call and their Man. Therefore they should stick with him regardless what happens going into 2024/25. If it fails it's on them.

  3. Glad I didn't go today. Yeah , we won 1-0, but it was utterly boring for the most part and pathetic. Luckily came up against a side who are somehow even worse.

We have regressed, the players to me as a collective don't look to be showing much fight. The happy clappers will say i'm angry we won but i'm not, I just think we're a poor side and against most other teams in this League it would have been another 1-0 defeat today.

Papering over cracks. Fans voting with their feet by not attending. Depressing

Let’s be honest here, Swansea are absolutely crap.

Win today changes nothing. The performance and tactics again not good enough. Take the win now though to temporarily stop the rot.

Reminds me of LJ era. Go on a terrible run, then would play absolute no hopers, scrape a 1-0 win and he hangs on that result for weeks on end.

    This performance is awfull.

This has to be the straw that broke the camels back today. No fight from the players. The battling qualities they had under Pearson seems to have disappeared. For a "derby" only swans fans making any noise as city fans can't believe what we are seeing

"Derby" 🤣 They don't half drum this up on social media forcing a rivalry. This is never a derby. Our derbies are Rovers, Cardiff and Swindon and always will be, there's a mutual dislike between us and all 3 of those clubs.

I really cannot warm to him sorry to say.

It sounds really harsh as I don't like hammering someone's character without meeting them but his answers and the way he comes across is very unhumanlike and not at all personable.

He strikes me as a textbook coach but has zero man management skills and life experience that can lead players to victory.

I have struggled to warm to him from the start, not because I was a big NP fan but because there's something about him I find so utterly uninspiring and dour.

I often think a Football team plays in the image of its Manager. We're boring, and so is he.

    I’ll scribe again:

    - Impressed with U18s honesty, work rate and desire to compete

    - Thinks the level of championship is so high that U18 to champ is rare but if good enough they will play

    - Asked how often the U18s train with the first team - didn’t really answer. Referenced Jamie Knight-Lebel, Yeboah and Nelson - one of whom isn’t an 18 and one who was busted down?

    - Cornick fit plus one unspecified

    - Asked why form fluctuates “Psychological - it’s been there the whole season not just since we came in”. QPR didn’t have time to work tactically and lacking Twine against the block

    - “Annoyingly my phone blew up the other night complimenting how good the lads were defensively”

    - Has spoken a lot about taking responsibility because they give the lads everything and they have to take responsibility - lads are all in and we’re moving in the right direction

    - Piercy asked whose decision it was that players were fit. LM said it was a collective but he’s not a medical expert

    - Naismith and Twine not trained (so assume it’s Tanner back)

    - My favourite quote “It’s very hard for me to effect things in game” (Side note: he clearly reads the forum - hi Liam - and while you’re here - that’s literally your job)

    - Thinks he’s learnt and grown while here. Obsesses on reflection and analysis, works too hard which is both a strength and weakness.

    - Mentioned recent history of the club and laughed “the second half thing” - assumedly a drop in second half which he thinks may be cultural from the tone? (Side note: since he took over!)

    - Piercy asked re supporters reaction at Cardiff and pressure - can’t control it so don’t try to think about it, all was great 3 games ago and his energy is better served doing his job

    - Doesn’t just look at results although you have to win games, most sides in the league according to Brian have had 6-7-8 games without winning. It’s hard to know how players react before they have that kind of run and when they do it’s whether it’s the players or what they do

    - The league table is not looked at too much as not sure what it’ll give him. Concentrates on winning the next game and won’t change just because lost three in a row

    - Tommy or Nakhi? There’s a possibility of both from the start, hasn’t picked the team yet

    - Cams injury isn’t major and will be managed to end of season

Thanks for once again pointing out why I never listen to his press conference. All fart, no shit with this guy I find.

True true. Just trying to think of non Parachute possession and dominant sides..Swansea under Rodgers after Martinez and Sousa put in early work too- but there aren't many are there.

I don't think Manning ball is right for us anyway.

I think it's hard to stretch it back to Swansea nearly 15 years ago as the game (especially in the championship) has changed so much since then

They're betting the farm on "He needs the summer to get his own players in".

He does deserve time and he does deserve his own players but there's a lot of evidence this season to make you wonder whether even that is the answer.

I fear we won't enjoy finding out.

My issue is, LM wants us to be a slow possession based side and unfortunately unless you have a massive budget or have Parachute payments it is very unlikely to get the players in to play this way and be successful in the Championship.

You have to be able to mix things up (Which I felt we were able to do under NP and LJ at times). I think everyone else outside the top say 4 or 5 teams in the Championship are of an equal level of ability and the playing style tends to go out of the window.

This is where I have issues with what LM wants.

Attention seeking. "You ok, hun?" sort of cobblers.

And yes I have no issues saying this on International Women's Day. It's annoying
