  1. Got the impression with what NP said that he's probably been asked to get the simple things right regularly first, then think about the fancier attacking/dribbling. We also know NP wants a maverick so I'd be surprised if we coached what makes him exciting out of his game. I tink NP is good at being patient and it might be take a step back, get consistency and then show us what yo ucna do.
  2. I don't think you can easily make these predictions (although I did vote and it is interesting to see where the general feeling is). I think NP alluded to this in his press conference. He is clearly confident in our players, and that we have progressed. He basically said we need to see how other teams end up - whose signings gel, who is a surprise package, do some of the teams we expect to do well struggle for confidence/injuries/form, etc. We know the championship is a tough league, but it's hard to gauge how tough this season will be until we start the season to see where things end up. To simplify let's say we have much better season and end on 70 points (11-point improvement) - last season that would have been 6th and a playoff place, but in 21/22 it would have been 7th/8th and 5 points behind the playoffs. 20/21 it would have been 7th/8th and 7 points behind the playoffs. Confident we will do well, but there are a lot of variables outside of how much we have improved.

  4. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/academy-news/duncan-signs-pro-deal/ Young keeper don't know a lot about hime, but congratulations on first pro deal.
  5. I don't think you know how spoiler warnings work!? You're supposed to post the warning first first not use it to drill home the spoiler. ?
  6. I just don't see that from him. I think he'd genuinely be happy to play here if things don't pan out. He is an absolute model pro, who puts stock in game time and development.
  7. If the aim is engagement then it's very successful. it already has 6.9m views - for context, Man U got 7.3m for Mount signing
  8. We all know the notes for how to use the transfer section have magical powers, so this is just the first step towards - "Lionel Messi Linked - Source: Bristol Post"
  9. I would say there are plenty of ways for it to become a bidding war. In real estate here in California (obviously there are big differences in RE and player sales). When you are selling a property your client has a price they want, we even set a price a property is listed at. You don't rush any decisions, wait to see how much interest there is and once you have an offer you let everyone who has shown interest know you have an offer. If you think you will get more than one offer you set a deadline a few days ahead for offers. You would ask for highest and best offers by that deadline (sealed bids would be the closest UK equivalent). You see what everyone offers. You can the accept the highest/offer with the best terms. Or let everyone else know what the highest offer was give them a chance to match it. You can also counter one/some/all offer with higher terms that you want. We also need to remember that it's not just the fee that will matter the terms will also be SO important. If someone offers $25m and someone else offers $20m + 40% sell on, that's probably going to be at least as good an offer - I think most would prefer the later. TLDR - Plenty of ways a bidding war could happen + cash isn't the only factor.
  10. interesting Neil MacFarlane a possibility then? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_MacFarlane_(footballer)
  11. Definitely agree, the experience of being in the matchday squad is great for young players' development and motivation. + For us means NP can pick the bench he wants for tactical reasons and include youngsters who can get minutes if things are going well.
  12. I think the real issue with LJ is why he felt the need to let everyone know stuff like this constantly. For me, he was a good coach and sometimes a good manager. His real issue was starting to think everything was about a 1:1 managerial duel game to game rather than picking tactics and a style that worked and sticking with them. He is a little too focused on himself as a coach rather than us as a team.
  13. Quite a few quality midfielders moving around this summer - Bellingham, Rice, Barnes - presumably a good chance Ward-Prowse and Maddison will move too. Be interesting to see how it all shapes up.
  14. I think if i was a spurs fan I wouldn't be that disappointed and I wouldn't be that excited. He has a really good record everywhere he has been, including improving clubs that were not performing and managed to step up a level each time he's had the opportunity. Could be a good option and as mentioned earlier the lack of European football limits the attracting for bigger name managers.
  15. QPR podcast (I have no idea how ITK they are) recons its £700k upfront potentially £1.2m with add-ons.
  16. Old news my son drew the photo shoot taking place in his painting 2 days ago!
  17. Ok - He is making this available in return for a donation to https://www.lifemoves.org/about-us/ . It's a charity we have done voluntary work for here in California, and one that means something to him. Any donation of £2 or more will get a link to a jpeg of the artwork. You can then download it and print it however you want (with the caveat that it shouldn't be merchandised by anyone else - e.g. don't download it and start selling prints, mugs etc). If you would like a copy, follow the link above and click donate - it will default to a one-time payment of £21 (for some reason), but you can change that field to any amount you like. Message me with a screenshot of the completed donation and you can have a copy of the image.
  18. Thanks for the positive support - I should my son and he was annoyed! ? Apparently, I posted before it was done. This is the finished version (I think I'll frame it!) - he was then was annoyed because I didn't spot the 'easter egg'. ?? No pleasing young'uns sometimes. Be interested to see if anyone on here spots it.
  19. The artist is clearly a typical deluded gas head. This looks way better than the real thing.
  20. My son made this - said I'd share it here. I have struggled to get my kids into football, my daughter now loves the women's team and it's been great sharing that with her. My son occasionally watches bits of games with me, but it's just not his thing. So I was pretty cool when he showed me what he had been working on.
  21. Hard to tell from that if it's accidental or not. However, it's something like this that will lead to pitch invasions being completely clamped down on. I think most people want to see/be involved with this kind of pitch invasion - when something remarkable happens. I don't think Clubs, fans, or even the FA want to eradicate moments like this - but eventually, if fans deliberately come on to cause trouble, or use pitch invasions as cover to do so (not 100% sure that is the case here) those in charge will have to act. I imagine if/when that happens the FA/Gov/FIFA etc will get the blame, but the reality is it will be the fault of a minority of idiots. Officials, players, and staff have a right to be safe in their workplace.
  22. Ref needs to start giving cards, either for constant fouls or diving. It's non stop! Really expected it to be a better game.
  23. I have only tuned in for 2nd half, has the whole game been like this? Players down every two seconds it feels like.
