  1. Oddly I seem to have the game on Robins TV with no commentary here (I'm in the US), even though it's on ESPN. That's got to be an error, don't think they're allowed to usually.
  2. The other alternative I can think of - although also not great, is that you could play Pring and Tanner at CB with Sykes and Dasilva at FB. then play Vyner at CM. It's a role I actually think Vyner is pretty good at, but is a big compromise at CB.
  3. Such a good touch by Wells there don't think Sykes expects it. Otherwise I think he gets there before the keeper.
  4. I think NP has shown he will also play players for their benefit and the longer-term benefit of the club. So Bell playing is doing something lots of us wanted and prioritising youth development. It's important for our young players to get minutes and gain experience.
  5. I think you are spot on for Def and the 2 cm's. I just wonder - Given Scott might go in the Summer might be worth using this as an opportunity to see Mehmeti in the 10 position. So you could keep the same line up, but move Conrnick into the front 3, or keep Bell in there.
  6. I think its very unlikely, but imagine having another season of Scott and the transfer funds from selling Scott!
  7. ESPN showed our lineup on screen and didn't even make a comment on one player. I miss UK tv on days like this. Just no research done at all.
  8. ESPN coverage is pretty awful - very dismissive of us. Sample quote - "for teams like Bristol this is as close as they'll ever get to premier league football."
  9. Could be wrong, but it felt to me like Bell was part of the reason we got so many balls in. Creating an overload on either flank. He could pass it for the Ross and get in the box. I get your point though, maybesaty more central, although we maybe create less crosses if he does. Think you need a gamble from the opposite wing - if Sykes crossing Mehmeti getting in the middle and vice versa.
  10. It's funny that little over a week ago the title of the thread could easily have been begun 'What is' instead of 'was it'
  11. Nope, from now on we get a penalty every week, just to even things out a little.
  12. James got to be man of the match. Been everywhere.
  13. For the most part on their forum they are very complimentary, saying we're one of the better sides they've played, and deserved a point.
  14. W t f just happened? The ref has stopped play and is pointing to that round spot thing in the box? Never seen anytjing like it!
  15. He's only one letter away though! Don't write him off yet! Someone give him a d to go after the i!!!
  16. I confess I knew nothing about Mehmeti before the transfer rumors. Then saw the youtube video and was obviously excited about his talent. So purely based on the video and the skill he had, I made an assumption he would be a bit more laid back off the ball - so today it was great to see him press, harass and track back for the whole game. I was very impressed with hi.
  17. I was reading the loan thread and saw this post by @Gillies Downs Leeds (apologies for taking your quote out of that thread: And it made me think - Could this be a good way to build relationships with promising up-and-coming managers? Could we scout, use analytics, and ID young managerial talent in the lower (particularly non-league) leagues and build a relationship with them via offering good loans? It could offer multiple benefits: - opening lines of communication with a promising manager - men's football for academy players - if we identify talent well then a link with clubs at increasingly high levels (for loans etc) - an already promising relationship with a manager we may want to appoint at some point. I'm sure there are loads of cons and not sure how easy it is to use analytics ( @Davefevs ?) to accurately ID young managers -as things like playstyle etc would be part of that - not just results, but it could be an interesting strategy. What do others think? Would also be interesting to hear which upcoming managers people are excited by.
  18. I think if you're going to appoint anyone to a club that's not in a great position you need to give them more than 3 months. Don't like Jones so not defense of him and think he was the wrong appointment, but 3 months is not a lot of time to turn things around.
  19. Would like to see Wycoombe come up - mainly because of the sh$ty way the were relegated (Derby getting away with it).
  20. You forgot the Europa conference league win.
