Not true. The backlog is much greater. Six months +

My source at Bristol City Council had a meeting today where they were advised that there are almost 150 December 2022 planning applications that have yet to be assigned to a planning officer and overall almost 1200 applications that are sat in BCC's backlog.

So it's irrelevant when the next planning committe sit, as the application hasn't even been processed and is unlikely to be looked at until well into 2024.

This state of affairs will have been (is) well known by any professional dealing with planning applications as its been building up since Covid, so I can only assume that Billy Smart & Co. are advising the Sags.

Sleep well Chris, and thanks for everything you did and the sacrifices you made for City.

Flashback for the Fans link attached for those in a nostalgic mood.

Condolences to his family and friends.
RIP to my first footballing star.
And thanks to RedEd73 for posting this, hadn't seen it before and whilst not the greatest quality, very interesting.
How many Chealsea players today will be working as a greengrocer when they retire?

  3. For all Windows users, right click and select "open link in new tab"

A new tab will open with the picture you selected.

A right pain, as you have to do this for each picture.

Amazed that what looks like a fully turfed pitch is only 5% of what will eventually be the finished product.

It looks like they apply a mixture of soil and seed over the top of the "astro turf"

Yep, bumped into Cotts that afternoon, he’d been out buying a clothes horse with his wife.

That night I wondered whether the EE being knocked down might impact our home form.  I needn’t have worried.

Does he live near us then, or did you venture outside of the confines of Downend?

Watch this interview from the arrogant ***** when they lost at Portsmouth

Interviewer “second defeat in a week and away from home” ??? - Joey agrees.
The referee gives a penalty to them, contentious!!
Joey says that the lad throws himself on the to floor, the referee gives it.
    His Bartonsh*t then says.
“not long after that, an incident down the other end and a stone wall penalty, but the referee doesn’t give it”

Followed by (and a classic in scouse maths)

Tide turns on that – we get to two two (assuming of course, they would have scored the penalty!!!) and we fancy our chances of going on and winning the game.

So in summary, to draw a game, the Barton logic is that you only need to score half as many goals as many goals as the opposition and to win, well who knows?

Don`t worry mate, some enterprising young soul will always offer to look after it for a small consideration....................................

Memories of our famous Liverpool FA cup match at Anfield.

Parked about half a mile from ground in a suburban street, when confronted by an eight year old asking me (when I eventually deciphered the accent) “look after yer car mate”.

I said no chance, you’ll just FO with the money. Then I said I’ll pay you when I get back.

Arriving back at about 10:30 to a deserted street, my car was still in one piece,
    Hallelujah.

Get in car and suddenly a knock on the window “where’s me money”.

Fair play to the kid for hanging around and despite such blatant extortion, happy to pay an enterprising extortionist.

    They learn early in Merseyside.

    Hmmm.

Merely "delighted" rather than "buzzing" to be here. No mention of how massive the club is. However he does say he can't wait to get started.

Not as strong an opening 15 seconds as Mehmeti.

Bonus point for mentioning a "whirlwind 24 hours" though.

Listen to the 90min interview and you will realise that he is not your typical pro saying all the expected and insincere buzzwords.

As Fevs notes, not a product of the academy system and he seems all the better for it, that is from his development perspective, although I agree that for most the academy is the way to go.

  8. Yep, anyone shopping at Screwfix at Lyde Green can’t have missed their presence and I did previously Google them to see who they were (and still don’t fully understand!!). A significant local employer and apparently good company to work for, for so two positives.

Bristol Sport supporting (or vice versa) a Bristol based company can’t be a bad thing and I’m another who thinks gambling sponsorship is tainted and will hopefully go the same way as cigarette advertising. If you personally know people who have a gambling addition, you will understand such a comment.

  9. Interesting comments in the Matt Mills podcast about “our Joey” at around 40 minutes onwards regarding Ishmael Miller.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9-0kbc_X1Y

Following a bust up between Barton and Miller, Barton comes running past Mills, cracks Ishmael (from behind) in back of the head, attacks him whilst on the floor, then runs off and gets in his car and f’s off!

Who would of thought that of Mr B and so out of character, as was no doubt alluded to during the recent trial.

  10. Have you ever seen such a nervous, twitchy and unconvincing interview with a supposedly lucid and sober person?

The “body language experts” say that whenever you touch your nose you are lying. Whether you believe this or not, look at how many times he touches his nose when answering questions and whether you are a body language believer or not, it’s certainly far from convincing.

And how often does he raise his head and look straight into the eyes of the camera and/or interviewer?

But somehow he convinced a jury of ten; net of two sendings off, that he was innocent!

Hopefully he will keep convincing the wheel of fortune that he is the right man for the job for some time to come, or at least until the next court appearance.

1980 - 1982 makes those eras seem highly successful - thank God there wasn’t an online Forum when we plummeted from the top division in England to the bottom of division 4 ... but we are still here and we are still right behind them - a bit of perspective is probably needed - yes the fans’ expectations are soooo different now but we are currently competing in the fifth best division in the world and we are doing ok - don’t give up on our club  just yet ...

Are we still one of only two teams (believe Huddersfield were the other) that have plumited through all leagues (from 1 to 4) in consecutive seasons?
