Not sure how true this is but apparently this is the England team
                        Pickford
    Trippier. Stones Maguire. Shaw
                 Rice. Bellingham
           Sterling. Mount. Foden
                          Kane

I would be very happy with that. Personally think if he’s brave we have every chance of doing well again this tournament.

Take Sterling out for either Saka or Maddison & get Walker back in (maybe at the expense of Shaw & play Trippier LB) it’s our best team

I see that our first match is on 10th December whereas the Premier league don't play again til boxing day!  Are they that certain that so many of their players will  be involved in that last week up to 18th that no premier league matches can be played? Or is this more to do with television schedules?

I do wonder if that Rotherham game might be moved. There is an agreement with the EFL that games can be moved, if both teams agree should they clash with WC/England games.

England will be playing that day in the QF should they win the group and obviously win the last 16.

  3. Klose & King seem to be getting a fair bit of criticism around Low but am I the only one thinking Sykes is getting an easy ride?

The lack of awareness, support & protection he offered young Joe throughout that turbulent first 20 last night was alarming. Really poor.

Glad I was in reading family stand today as took my 5 year old. Don’t need the hassle a lot cause on short distance away trips.

Surprised so many were standing. Usually on the short distance away trips most of the knuckle draggers spend the entire match in the concourse ?

He lives in Devon, wouldn't expect him to drive all the way just for this

    Fair point

In fairness he will just tweet what he thinks will happen before and be the first to congratulate himself if he gets it right ?

Decent episode & well done to all involved.  Neil provides good balance and a bit of a first for me, in that I agreed with lots of the comments today including Ian.  However, a little humility from Ian would go a long way as he states the most obvious things such as I tweeted their dangermen and threats (it’s Millwall we know) & a team for West Brom which if that started then I might as well not travel.

Thanks for taking the time to produce as know you all take some stick.

More chance of us defending a set piece than Ian showing any humility.

@Feral Williamsthank you so much for stepping in. The kids involved were both 10, I had accompanied my 8 year old to the loo at the end of the match

Don't get me wrong my kids can be buggers but weren't on Saturday. The bloke in question was sat behind us in the first half and had been quite amiable until Millwall scored at which point he flipped.

It was the end of the half and the kids were getting a bit restless and he got annoyed and asked them to stop distracting him. Fair enough. I apologized to him and thought it was dealt with.

About 5 or 10 minutes into the second half he moved to different seats, so we didn't interact with him again until the incident in the concourse.

We were actually guests of CHSW (my youngest is life limited) and occupying their season ticket spaces. I wondered if his use of the word ****** was intentional (it's not a word that is particularly common these days thank goodness).

I've reported to the club and CHSW because I don't want their guests to be potentially in the vicinity of someone so volatile.

Thanks again to all who stepped in to help the to protect the kids whilst I was in the loo with my youngest.

Really sorry to hear this @RedEd73

I hope you and the kids are well. Lost for words as to how someone could behave in such a vile way. Well done to all that got involved and I hope this Neanderthal is identified by the club.

At what point do people start to recognise that Frankie Fielding was better ? And that our next signing should be a keeper? Sorry he can make all the random world class saves he wants but give me a steady reliable safe hands keeper all day  ?

    ??

The only connection I can think of here is that David Bentley & Frankie both played for Blackburn. Otherwise you have lost me.

WTF was that is my over arching thought.

Did anyone come out of that with any credit other than Bentley and maybe Atkinson!?

We were half arsed, slow, without desire and scared. In front of a big away following.

One individual player did not make a forward pass the entire match.

Semenyo did well for twenty but then fell off like the rest of them, but at least he showed something.

Weimann has been terrible for weeks, ConwAy and Wells never got a pass, eff me, how could we concede three set piece goals. Apparently our white men can’t jump!

I try to take positives from all our games, but that to use the American expression sucked ass!

Just out of interest how could Bentley come out of that with any credit? Woeful today I'm afraid.

Fantastic shot stopper, rushes out & smothers the ball well but he is part of the problem I'm afraid. Yes defensively we are poor but he doesn’t command his area or take any pressure off what so ever. Doesn’t ever come off his line. I am a bit surprised he often seems to avoid criticism.

Not a chance Kalas will be staying - he won’t take a pay cut knowing he can get the same (if not more) money elsewhere.

Really? He’s not played for 7 months. I know we are all desperate for his return & I think we need him, but his career has somewhat stagnated here.

I rate him but I would be very surprised if he gets a deal elsewhere anything like what he’s on here.

I agree we have few options now. I can see positives in Naismith's game, so, if we had Kalas & Klose fit as a central defensive unit, I do wonder if midfield might be tried.  Hopefully, it would be a more of a Sergio Ramos experiment than a Richard Foster one! :laughcont:

Ultimately, you could see yesterday confidence drained away from the back line after that first goal, and when you get nervous about the players around you, you make mistakes.

As I've said elsewhere, I'd like to see a player who can establish a proper defensive screen in front of the central defenders. James is as near as we've got to that IMO, but of course, was unavailable yesterday.

I think if we changed system it would be more likely to see him there.

I agree though I feel as though we don’t have much protection from midfield. I’ve not actually been impressed with James, however he seems to hold his position well and as you say he’s as near as we have to a defensive midfielder as such. I think overall we look more solid when he plays alongside Scott but lack mobility. Horses for courses I guess!

I suppose, that he slips the ball forward quite well, can dribble (not all BCFC players can), and takes a decent set piece. Certainly, other sides have played him in a more advanced role in the past.

Based on his displays at the back I don’t think he will be anywhere near disciplined enough to play in midfield. I just don’t know what to make of Naismith, I really don’t.

As @GrahamC says, I would be very surprised if we go down this route now.
