I'll be kind and say Brownhill, Diedhiou (which we overspent on imo), Paterson (arguably), Webster.
No wonder Lansdown came out in 18/19 on a fans forum and said he expects play offs after the amount of wasted money that was spent in that era.
8th with lots of money spent and 17th on frees under Pearson, yet people are blaming Pearson for it all
Yes agree with the above. Kalas I would say has also been a good signing. Bentley I would also say has been a success, although over rated by some on here he’s a steady champ keeper no more, but overall a success for us. Can’t really think of any others?
I know the argument has been done over and over but this quite simply isn’t Pearson’s mess. However it’s up to him to try resolve.

Adam Matthews, Hörður Magnússon, Callum O'Dowda, Jens Hegeler, Matty Taylor, Gustav Engvall, Ivan Lucic, Taylor Moore, Fabian Giefer, Bailey Wright all in his first full season for starters.
Then you have Mo Eisa, Kasey Palmer, Hakeeb Adelakun, Sammie Szmodics all paid on big money who barely did anything for us who want for pretty much nothing.
Both LJ AND Ashton spent the lot and are the reason we are in this FFP mess in the first place they both collectively shoulder that blame. The money was spent on crap because the highest we got was 8th - which still aint good enough
Djuric, Watkins, Ekstrand, Pisano, Henriksen, I would now include DaSilva. Might be easier to say what signings were a success?

Not just wage budget, but amortisation costs halved last season and this…and will be a tenth next season as it stands. That’s some overall budget cut isn’t it? No wonder we have a thin squad.
I think we are generally trending up from the start of last season, when we had to go backwards to go forwards. I don’t take 3 league games in isolation. Last season we never took less than 3 points in a four game run…ie. We never had a bad run of results….below par sometimes, absolutely. But never a bad run, we always found a result.
The win percentage for those of you that like those things is generally on the up too (5 game rolling average type stuff).
So I think it is coming, and continues to come.
Not to the extent we are and not to the extent we had to last summer when we bailed with players like Diedhiou. We are in a small group of clubs really struggling financially. We have addressed this but this takes a while to play out.
I thought we’d have resolved the contract situations of Wells, Massengo, Bentley, Dasilva, Kalas by now. Trying to gain a signature to reduce a wage isn’t gonna be something a player does in a timeframe we can push.
But here’s the big positive:
At least None of us are as completely delusional as Ian Gay, who thinks we should be approaching Carlos Corberan!
What fantasy world does he live in?
I’d hate to tell him that he’s manager of Olympiacos, but that’s irrelevant, as he would never come to a club in our situation. Christ, he wouldn’t even stay at Huddersfield.
The gift that keeps on giving. You have to hand it to the bloke mind, he’s absolutely hilarious!

Makes me laugh.
I see G Nevs was spouting bullcrap on Twitter earlier about Barcelona “selling their soul”.
Seems no one told him that all they’ve done is sell 25% of their tv revenue whereas Man U sold 100% to chancers!
The blokes an absolute ?end and one of the main reasons I don’t watch as many live sky games as I once did.
Self entitled weasel that thinks he’s the voice of football fans up and down the country. I couldn’t ever take a bloke like him seriously when he’s quick to criticise clubs/managers in the prem for the very things he does at his own club. Still hilarious that he has his little meltdowns though

My very first city game was City v Wycombe... October 2013
Obviously not a glory match or even a good result. Clearly an excellent introduction into being a City fan!
JPT trophy?
If memory serves right that was Joe Morrell’s first start for the club. Lewis Dunk also started at centre half for us that night in a 2-1 defeat

Puts some of our prima donna men to shame!
If you can have male prima donnas!
Why even go there? Celebrate this for the incredible achievement this is for the girls.
No need to draw lazy comparisons to the mens game. Both different & it’s a completely irrelevant point anyway. This doesn’t need to be used as a stick to beat the mens game/team with or to be used to degrade the womens game in anyway whatsoever.

Probably Wilson/Tanner/Sykes at RWB
Klose/Vyner RCB
Scott should/shouldn’t play
Conway should start, shouldn’t even be a sub.
That sort of thing.
But we missed a trick not signing Jamille Matt

I wonder which one of his 7 “here’s what I’d do” line-ups Nige will pick, and when things don’t work out, he’ll revert to, this was the one he should’ve picked!
Josh Owers….he likes a tackle

An iconic figure. RIP Stoney.
Thoughts with all concerned.

I think it’s more to do with being in the shop window and giving everyone game time at this stage.
It’s also worth considering he’s the only ‘natural’ right sided defender fit that can currently play on the right of a back 3. Klose playing their isn’t ideal. He’s not up to it at this level, we all know that. It’s best for all parties he moves on but at present his versatility, availability & low wages means we aren’t in a rush to get rid. I will be very surprised & worried if he starts many this season.
-
Good riddance.
Nige is gradually getting rid of all the deadwood & the squad is starting to shape up nicely. First time in a long time that I genuinely feel like we are on an upward trajectory.- 3

I would go
Bentley
Klose, Atkinson, Naismith
Wilson, Scott, Williams, DaSilva
Weimann
Martin, Wells
I think it’s far from ideal Klose playing on the right of the back 3 but at present we have no other option. I would also be very tempted to go with Conway over Wells but I think I would go with Wells experience for the first game.

Nice couple of goals for Conway today. Smart striker. In the right place at the right time. Could be seeing more of him this season i reckon.
He’s got all the tools in my opinion. Going to be some player. I really rate him but the conundrum is he will need to play games for his development.

Or these idiots could just grow up or is that asking too much?
A lot of these idiots don’t have the self control or intelligence when sober, let alone after a few beers.
I agree with the OP to an extent. I enjoy the banter & singing at games (I am not one to sing for 90mins mind) however yesterday that just felt a little over the top. I guess everyone behaves differently to how they ordinarily would away from football matches but that was just uncomfortable yesterday.
What if it was the Plymouth kids first game? Just very odd behaviour. Really is.

Vyner - not fit for purpose.
Time we said goodbye.
Poor old Zak. Must be a difficult situation for him as he will know with the players we have he’s very unlikely to get any game time here unless we have a flurry of injuries.
As for his performance yesterday he just looks like he has zero confidence. I am not sure if he will have many takers but it’s best for all he’s moved on now if we can.

In the Britannia just up from the ground sampling a pint in the beer garden. Good atmosphere & very much looking forward to the game.

Any guesses as to which Saturday matches will be swapped at the last minute to Friday night or Sunday lunchtime?
Would the Rotherham one come into consideration for this when we go to there place December 10th? Slight chance England will be in the WC quarters on the same day, albeit a later KO time.

Oh you mean feared by opposition fans. Right, sorry the implication in OP's post was that AG was feared by the opposition players, and that this 'hostile' atmosphere meant we used to get more points at home.
How do these three comments from an unknown time made by unknown people on an unknown site support the implication from OP's post that expanding the singing section would a) make the atmosphere hostile, and that b) doing that would increase our points gain at home?
I'm not against any expansion btw, just wondering if it's actually possible to support the argument for it with some actual evidence rather than anecdotal stories about apocryphal days when opposition players arrived at AG with their knees knocking together so much that they couldn't run and so we just hoovered up 3 points every other Saturday.
You pretty much sum up my thoughts with this post @ExiledAjax
I also don’t see the relevance of a few Neanderthals opinion on the matter, neither am I sure as to why we should care what they think.

FBC Pod: WIGAN [A] reviewed: unbeaten run extended to 2 games, everything's fine isn't it?

This.
@headhunter having been on the pod a few times before I actually like the format of it as such. You run it well Dave. I don’t mind the perceived negativity of it and I like the ‘say it as you see it’ type approach. After all the game is all about opinion’s, would be boring if we all had the same view wouldn’t it?
The main problem with the pod (other than sound) is the self entitled Ian Gay. I can actually relate to the occasional view of his but his delivery is just all wrong. The bloke just comes across so badly, rudely cutting over people as if his voice is the only one that matters, although it’s hilarious at times how someone can be so deluded.
Neil adds good balance, as does Mark in fairness. I like the passion on display at times. By the way what’s happened to Lezz?
