Yes , good shout. I just think football forums- which are only supposed to be a bit of fun after all- can be a bit lame when everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet.

Good luck for the rest of the season (obviously that last bit is a lie)

Trust me we will cope without you,

luck won't come into it we will get what we deserve as will you .League tables don't lie.

Maybe, maybe not, what is the case is that the second world war started with Eastville being owned by the Greyhound company and finished with it belonging to the Rovers. I am sure the coincidence that there were many of the same directors on both boards had nothing to do with it.

Wait for the denials from the deluded few

Bollocks. As I aid previously, there is a thread on here lauding a Radio Bristol presenter for slipping a 'Mind the gap' reference in.

Any**** that gets remotely upset at trivial comments over football is a bit of a *****.

Some Rovers fans are *****s, some City fans are *****s , and some say 'amusing' things, that aren't really all that amusing.

You could always just do 1 and post on your own teams forum, just a thought.

We've got 'Drink up thy Zider'....

We didn't nick the song from another club.

Our atmosphere can be shit at times, by your own fans admission so can yours. Presumably the fans of 'non Bristol' teams you've been speaking to are the ones who've accidentally strayed into 'the Welly' and have said exactly what they think you want to hear whilst you've got them pinned to a wall and boring them to death. I'm sure it helps if you've got that look of sheer desperation in your eyes at the time..."please say Gasheads are better, PLEEEASE"

Ive read plenty of comments on Football Forums and Facebook complimenting our atmosphere at AG...others who say our away support at their ground is amongst the best they've had. Difference between us and you is that we don't pretend various complimentary comments from some different people represent every fan in the country.

Btw, I've also heard and read many, many comments about your, apparently, amazing and vocal support that YOU wouldn't like. Seems not everyone thinks you're as great as you think you are.

Indeed I saw a video just the other day where Cambridge manager Shaun Derry confronted 3 sags after there game ,obviously talking about there shoes because all 3 of the cowardly weasels were staring at the floor the whole time.

None of us have stopped to welcome our former non-league friends back to the forum en-masse.

Nowhere to be seen for ages and now they've hit the dizzy heights of being level on points with Accrington, they all come flooding back.

It is half term to be fair.

For club that has no club song and whose fans can't even put their heads together to adopt or write one, its quite amusing seeing rover's chants/songs being criticised.   Maybe you should talk to non Bristol fans who have been to both grounds and see which they say has the best atmosphere, but you wouldn't like the answer.

My Wycombe m8 loves us .

Um i said each to their own with their opinions and i didnt want to argue. The only point that bothered me was the fallacy of us stealing/trying to steal other peoples grounds.

As for trying to get it on the cheap as you say, aa in not steal. Iant that business. You had little or no money so we made an offer. It wasnt good enough so end off.

Is that any different than any club trying to buy a player on the cheap when x club is in financial trouble?

Of course it's business. ..one the sags seem to excel at.

  8. Hoping to get something on the cheap whilst someone else is in the shit seems to be engrained in your dna as a club.

You haven't paid for the construction of a stand since you were at Eastville. .!

You also decided not to comment on the other points I made , why was that ?

Each to their own. People can have their own opinions.

The only thing that irks me is those that spout Rovers stealing someones ground. The facts are there, we bought it from the rugby wing of Bristol Sport when they disnt have a pot to piss in or Steve Lansdown to save them

2.3 million thr same as Amtrak were going to pay for the site and Bristol wouldnt have had a ground at all

1982 you belter know your history

I think Clarke's comments were - at best- ill advised.

Odd how there is one thread lauding  a local radio presenter for a 'mind the gap' comment, yet others get a little  precious when a joke is made about non existent displays on an electronic scoreboard!

I do despair of football fans at times, some really do need to grow a pair.

And I despair at drunken football managers in pubs with 'the lads '

    punching horses

    Inventing amazing attendances

Stealing  and trying to steal other peoples grounds

    Racially abusing players

    Shall I go on..?

But like you I really do despair, funny old world ain't it.

If I replied like that after the Hull result I'd probably be banned on here.  So I stick to reasonable debate and no abuse, just discussion.  Many on OTIB can see that Rovers are doing well and perhaps finally, after so many years, are going places.  Wouldn't it be great to have both Bristol clubs doing well, in new stadiums, playing each other regularly in front of 25,000 crowds?

We are trying to compete in the championship. ..with maybe and it's a massive maybe one day having a chance at the prem ...you and yours just want to be above City ,pathetic and tin pot and unless you get promoted this season and nothing is certain  (remember Wycombe and celebrating too early) you will have to wait for your cup final ...Forever in our shadow sag .

History.  All history.  Eastville was allowed to run into decripitude by the owners, not helped by a large fire that accidently happened there, the groundshare at a Southern League club was never going to attract fans, and a long spell at a rugby ground unfit for purpose and without any investment by the now-departed old regime were all events that held the club back and maybe could have resulted in oblivion.  Just like Brighton, playing in cr*ppy grounds for decades does tend to limit the attendances a bit.

Things have now changed.  One division apart next year.  Who knows after that?

    History of talking shit......

    So bitter.

Yep, if they secure back to back promotions then I'd have to say fair play, great achievement...as much as I've hated Dopey's antics over the last couple of years....but two consecutive promotions at any level is to be admired. Not that they've done it yet...

Indeed fair play, and they may do well to keep hold of him if it happens.

Had a city mate who went to the game today. Said Bolton were nothing short of appalling. A disgrace of a football team.

Funny thing is they've only lost 3 games more than you lot this season, so that tells it's own story.

    Anyway, back to Rovers..

    Bitter.

I've been going since 87, so getting on for 30 years too....is that true they've only finished above us 5 times, I'd have put money on it being more. Pitiful, I like that word when it comes to talking about the blue few

Someone will know when they were last above us, remember someone quoting how many days it was not so long back, anyone??

Think it was 15 years ago.
