  1. The other problem they have if they don't have the stand ready for their first home game is that they aren't generating the revenue to pay down the loan. Every week that goes on is an amount of cash wasted. Not only have they got to increase their average attendance just to pay down the loan, they are currently at a capacity of less than last season so they will be generating even less revenue than before.
  2. Deepest condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace fellow red.
  3. After Gary O'Neil was sacked for doing a fantastic job keeping Bournemouth in the top flight and Darren Moore was sacked for doing a brilliant job in turning around a first leg defeat to win the play off final and get Sheffield Wednesday back to the Championship, Wally and Tom want the sag fans to know Joey is going nowhere.
  4. Who'd want to be a football manager? Undoubtedly they've got their eye on someone else who they believe will do a better job. O'Neil should find another job relatively quickly based on the great job he did there.
  5. Great first day for England A lot to do tomorrow as it looks more than handy for the Aussie batsman.
  6. Good discipline from the Australian bowlers. 3 no balls and not a single wide.
  7. Midlands weather forecast says there could be showers on Sunday..
  8. Not that it matters a hill of beans but England have now passed Australia's first innings total from the first test at Edgbaston in the 2019 Ashes series.
  9. The score is ticking along quite nicely now.
  10. Enjoyable first day so far. Really need a ton from Root or Bairstow.
  11. As long as its not bedecked with that "pigeon being swallowed by an eagle while crashing into a greenhouse face first* logo which is apparently supposed to be a Robin.
  12. Not the greatest cup final ever but certainly an enjoyable one.
  13. Always thought Moore was poorly treated when he was sacked by West Brom so it's good to see him get a trophy. Good luck to them next season (except against us of course).
  14. Apparently the delay in obtaining planning permission is due to the design being reviewed. Someone on the design team rightly pointed out that if the idea is to improve the fan experience why do the plans show the stand facing the pitch?
  15. I'd rather wash my eyes wirh battery acid then wipe them dry with sandpaper thanks.
  16. That article is 17 different shades of absolute bollocks. "Rovers were impressive" "Staggering promotion" "haul of 53 points" "A sigining that would go down in folklore" Oh FFS shut the **** up !!!! Having a brief look at the authors other articles for the same outlet, they're all listed as "opinion" and consist of a recommendation for a club to sign a player who had some sort of link to the signing club. Basically, a load of total guff.
  17. Man City really are bloody good aren't they.
  18. Absolutely. Tell SL some what he doesn't want to hear and you are out on your ear. Rub his balls with a warm soft cloth and you can get away with running the club into the ground. Remember though, it's his money and his club.
  19. ? You'd think so. I can't see why anyone would be dumb enough to take out a huge loan to build a stand without all of the paperwork in place first.
  20. They'll be absolutely knackered if any of the houses on Alton Road, Ellicot Road or Downend Road object to the plans.
  21. Is there a less transparent football club in business right now? How many times have we seen an announcement from their boardroom that contains the words "Can't talk about it", "Confidential" "Work going on behind the scenes", "Not in a position to announce" etc, etc, etc? If you turn to google there are clubs up and down the country talking about stadium improvements and their web pages or at the very least the local press, can explain time lines, costings and the facilities that they are looking to create. There are 86 Days, 4 Hours and 30 Minutes (give a take a minute or two) until the first EFL Game of the season kicks off at 15:00 on Saturday 5th August 2023. In that time the sags have to: Submit planning permission for their new stand. Obtain Planning permission for their new stand. Take down the temporary structure that is their two current stands Relocate their big screen. Clear the ground for the new structure. Build the new structure Build any associated facilities and services (catering, lighting etc) Hold a test event to obtain a safety certificate. When they talk about tight timelines they're not wrong.
  22. I can never quite get my head around these financial statements but as far as I can see it, as well as the charge against the ground from this new mortgage, Wally's 2017 charge against the club / ground is still outstanding but I've no idea what value remains on it, and their last set of accounts seems to show they're currently over 7 million pounds in the red. This is an increase of over 3 million in debt since last year. Is thst correct?
