  1. I see, after failing to be invited to join the Big 6, Wally has resurrected his 2014 plan to break Rovers away from the league again.
  2. You couldn't script this. 5 of the bottom 6 winning and only 1 losing. Perfect night.
  3. I bet it was pictures of the Colony centre of excrement that finally sealed the deal. What self respecting manager could fail to be impressed by a tent in a field near Almondsbury?
  4. So, apart from a two game caretaker throwing the stats off a little, basically each new managerial appointment has made things worse. By my reckoning, even if they had stuck by Tisdale they would have been at least 1 win and may be about 4 points better off than they are now.
  5. Ever have one of those days when you wish you'd had a flutter at the bookies? ??
  6. If Wigan and the Wombles win on Saturday and the Sags lose then they'll be 6 points from safety with 4 games to play. They'd need 2 wins just to close back up to safety. It really could be all over in all but name come 17:00 this Saturday.
  7. I can't understand someone who gets to play professional football and then behaves like an absolute bell end. I can't stand the Sags but even I feel a bit sorry for them, when you look at that picture of Payne holding up their shirt looking like he's got a face that's been slapped with a wet fish. It amazes me how he keeps getting signed by clubs. Looking at his goal scoring record it's not as if his attitude and twatishness is worth having for his goals return.
  8. Stefan Payne has had 16 clubs in 12 years (including a couple of loans) and had never spent longer than 2 seasons anywhere. He seems like a really great player to have around in the dressing room.
  9. Tisdale scored 0.95 points per game Barton is currently on 0.64 points per game.
  10. My guess would be that players of that experience level would expect to be paid.
  11. Ben Garner - 34 games in charge. Won 6, Drawn 8, Lost 20. Paul Tisdale - 19 games in charge. Won 5, drawn 3, Lost 11. Joey Barton - 10 games in charge. Won 2, Drawn 1, Lost 7. In the 15 months since they were in the top two and Coughlan walked their last 3 managers have won a staggering 13 of the 63 games they've been in charge of. A win rate of 20.6 percent. Bizarrely, the sags have won as many games since December 2019 as Coughlan lost in the 12 months he was their full time manager. In summary, they are really, really shit.
  12. They've got an awful group of fixtures coming up. 2 relegation rivals and 4 clubs in or around the play offs. Its going to be any 4 from 6 and there's just 2 points between them.
  13. Didn't @bert tann imply that there was some doubt over the completion of the debt to equity transfer and it may not have gone through?
  14. Fun fact: If the Sags were to splash out the same money for a Tilson today, according to the bank of England inflation calculator, the equivalent of 375k in 92 is 793k in 2020. So even with inflation they still haven't spent a million. Basically, a Tilson then is worth slightly more than a Sammie Szmodics now.
  15. "he's only been here 2 days and he's already ringing his lawyer to find out if he can submit a plea bargain"
  16. Dopey has been doing a passable job up here but the Saddlers fans I've spoken to aren't particularly keen on him. There have been far too many draws and their style football isn't that great. They are a tough side to beat though. My feeling is that he won't be massively missed. I can't imagine him leaving Walsall when his job wasn't under threat unless he had something lined up and that move would have to be a convincing move for him. Given that he hasn't done a great deal post Sags I can't see him in line for a bigger move so a return to the Poo Camp would seem the only realistic option. That or a new role as head of puppy welfare at the Kenilworth Dogs Trust?
  17. Taken from one of the Sunderland forums and sounds all too familiar. Trust me, I didn't pick this out to make things look worse. This was a typical quote: "When does early days become acceptable to form and opinion though mate? I think he just talks the talk but he’s a clown. Any signings he’s made he either gives them half a game or hasn’t even started them, barring the blatantly quite shite one. He’s constantly tinkering with the team rather than sticking with the one that was winning. And this stupid 2 man midfield is not working"
  18. I love OSIB and it usually forms an essential part of my cooking Sunday tea or washing up thereafter. Glad they still opt to bleep the swear words as the kids are still roaming about while it's on the background. All I can do is echo a few of the comments made so far. There are good episodes and not so good ones. There are good contributers and not so good ones. That doesn't stop me agreeing with a contributor I am not keen on or disagreeing with one I usually agree with. The last episode wasn't up there with OSIBs greatest but then the match they were following up on was bloody awful anyway. Yeah the watching the cricket gag had the arse kicked out of it but I got the point. Having said that, the section where they discussed "are things really that bad?" made me stop and think and, on the whole, agree they're not. If I would criticise anything about OSIB, my comment would be that @Shtanley can at times be a bit dismissive of the listeners opinions and it can get a bit too "knowing" I like the randomness and the Harry food stuff, the occasional tangents the conversations can take and things that crop up. I couldn't give a poop about sponsorship. That's entirely down to the OSIB team. What makes me laugh at the start of every episode is how little enthusiasm @Shtanley puts into the mansion bet advert. Compare that to the gusto that Robinsatthegate put into the same text and you can see Stan is taking the cash for minimum effort.
  19. Sorry for the emoji misunderstanding and thanks for the compliment. All the best. MR.
  20. Cheers for the explanation Fordy. I'm not emoji savvy. ?
  21. Why the flames on my post? I wasn't having go at Phantom. I absolutely agree with his post. I was just pointing out that some people, and they may be friends of yours, won't call you so it's a reminder to us all that while we are always available to our mates, take a moment to give them a call. I'm sorry if it seems I was negative. I genuinely believe that sometimes it's better to check in rather than wait too long for a call that may not come.
  22. Great post. One thing I'd like to add to this, everyone, it's great to tell people you are always there to lend an ear and talk but please, please make sure if you know anyone who is struggling, has struggled in the past or you have any concerns, pick up the phone and give them a call. I see a lot of people who say "I'm there for you, call me if you need" but a lot of people facing dark times won't do that. They will be too worried they'll be judged, won't want to bother you or are so down they can't even face the effort of picking up the phone. Give your friends a call. Give people you know are on their own a call. Take 5 minutes of your time just to check in and say "Hi mate, how are things?" That could really make the difference to someone's day.
  23. Definitely excited by this, it's clearly a massive improvement for the Sags and a sign they've really turned a corner. What..... Tisdale as their manager? Nope, the fact they've finally managed to take a picture of a new arrival at the club without the Poundland patio furniture in the background.
  24. Well Noddy and the Boyz know a thing or two about the beautiful game. From the lyrics to this Slade classic, they sound like they know more than Garner as well:
