  1. Forgive the lack of detail but I'm certain there was a post match demo at the rear of the William's stand against the so called "reform group" towards the back end of the 95 season. It was around the time the club got in trouble with the FA over the financing of the Atyeo stand, Osman putting out teams of teenage academy rejects, Europe in 5 years and all that other bollocks. It paved the way for Scott Davidson to buy the club. I'm certain I remember it and the protests calling for the board to quit going on inside the ground as well. All of my old copies of One Team are in a box somewhere otherwise I'd go back and check. Anyone else remember?? Anyhow, the Saggys, the gift that keeps on giving.
  2. I reckon he's been offered a new job, somewhere with more pay, better ownership, more facilities and a better chance of promotion. McDonald's in Broadmead.
  3. Yeah, the ball goes left the Sag goes right. Never, ever a penalty. It seems like every other game they either get an opposition player sent off or get awarded a penalty.
  4. I guess it's academic at the moment but a while ago the powers that be finally opened a long planned but very overdue station to serve the Rico Arena in Coventry. Unfortunately the Rail Franchise that ran on that part of the network didn't have the rolling stock to serve match day demand therefore stopped no trains on match days for several hours either side of kick off. The station was effectively useless because no one wanted it outside of matches and no on could use it when there was one. Utterly inept, incompetent and useless local authorities and transport plans aren't just limited to Bristol.
  5. If enough of the club can be saved they will start again at the bottom and work their way back up. There are several success stories of clubs that have eventually made it back from the depths of despair. They may not be back in the league for 10 years but I'm sure the supporters will reserect something of their club.
  6. And all of the above to be completed with a ready to move in date of 2 years.
  7. This horrendous monstrosity appeared in my inbox today.
  8. Having had a bit of a think about the numbers invovled in this pipe dream, could the more finance savvy members of OTIB confirm the following thoughts: Right now, the SAGs are losing money hand over fist however, Wally and Co (He's a lovely man) are keeping the club afloat by putting money into the club to pay the bills. However, if things go tits up or if Wally gets on his camel and rides out of town, the family have secured there investment against the mem so get their cash back (sort of) in any sale. Having said that, as I understand it, the value of the family's loans now equals the value of the Mem therefore any more money that gets shunted in wlil be at a loss to the family if they sell up unless they get a cracking good price for the ground. Furthermore then, when the site of the Mem gets sold as part of the move, all the proceeds from this sale are currently owed to the family. Unless Wally and Co put that money back into the new stadium the total money they'll have to invest from the sale of the Mem is zero. That means the whole amount of cash or a vast percentage of it is going to come from the investment banks. This means that the payments will have to be made and kept being made otherwise they're going to take they're money back and it's bye bye Saggys. The final question then, is how is a club currently making a multi million pound loss going to find the money to turn that loss into a profit and pay off an approximate 45 million pound loan ? Even with a potential increase of gate revenue from the new stadium novelty value there's nothing to suggest they'll start making that kind of money any time soon.
  9. Loving the moon facts. Here's another. It's estimated that Neil Armstrong's space suit cost $100000 to design and make (1960's prices) Adjusted for inflation and converted in to pounds sterling that's an incredible 1.5 Tillsons at today's prices. Isn't it amazing what you can buy for a Tillson these days.
  10. 17 moves and his 14th club in a little over 10 years. What a great player he must be to have around the dressing room. ?
  11. This was the view from the Centenary stand a few years ago before the Rugger had to move out. I don't think a cover over the away terrace which is down and to the left of the picture would effect the view from the centenary stand. Probably the best thing to improve the view for all fans would be to erect large canvas screens all the way around the edge of the pitch. ?
  12. Something like..... All locked outside, there's no kind of atmosphere, I'm in row M, of a tent. All our team, run away from here, Poor, poor, poor, no cash anymore . I want a stand, with a roof not canvas sides, Drinking fake, fanta pop Chairman's watch, worth more than the team, Gas, gas, gas, short on class, class, class Gas, gas gas, short on class, class, class
  13. Pinched from Facebook and bloody funny. ?
  14. Another issue the sags owners have to contend with is currency fluctuations. I presume the money that has been underwritten by the family is paid through Dibley sports from Jordan therefore it has to be converted from Dinar to Sterling in order to then go on and pay the bills. Every big movement in value can add or subtract thousands of pounds.
  15. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/football-finance-specialist-explains-what-2919150 The Q and A section of this article makes for interesting reading. It effectively discounts the idea that the account information was not provided due to takeover discussions.
  16. When your squad cost **** all And now play for Walsall You're the Rovers When your TV lacks a frame So you can't watch the game You're the Rovers So tinpot Full of rot That's the rovers Chairman's skint Take the hint That's the rovers
  17. FFS we've got enough problems with homelessness up here as it is. We don't need another one. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/report-reveals-key-causes-homelessness-15063156.amp
  18. Well I hope you wipe it up afterwards ?
  19. Nichols league goals per game ratio is as follows: (loans not included) Exeter 34 in 97 = 0.35 goals per game Peterborough 11 in 50 = 0.22 goals per game Sags 2 in 75 = 0.027 goals per game Evolution not revolution, these things take time etc etc etc.
  20. Walsall is where I live and I've taken my lad to watch a couple of games there. Going to feel slightly unclean if we go again now.
  21. A month overdue goes beyond a simple "they're in the post" excuse. I don't see the point in delaying the release even if the picture they paint is pretty grim. Any investor worth his salt will want to see every page in the book before plonking his cash in a high risk venture such as a football club. It's not like the club is run by a bloke who looks like a used car salesman trying to off load a failing club to a bunch of gullible foreign investors based on nothing more than a few images and hazy contracts with no concrete plans behind them. I mean who would be daft enough to fall for that?
  22. "200 pages on them if merged" my ass, we barely talk about them. City posts barely get a page" Says the Sag on the "City Fan on OTIB" (current length 3 pages) As they now have a 3 page thread on the cost of our Easter Eggs and created a thread an hour ago on our players being charged at Villa. Of course they barely talk about us don't you know. ??
  23. Could have been worse, second place got 4 free season tickets.
  24. No, it's their number 1 artist and fan "Manually manipulatesy" EDIT: the swear filter spoils the effect but you get the idea ?
