  1. Not only that, but Rovers' erstwhile star forward, Tom Nichols, scored Crawley's first goal.
  2. What nonsense. Famous last words, but there is no way, in my opinon, Atkinson, Weimann or Conway are playing tomorrow.
  3. I was watching earlier as the stand (JR and LG) was approaching 200 and was willing both to get Centuries and bring up that stand. LG got his Century, but was out for 111, just two runs before the 200. Unfortunately, JR seemed to stutter in his approach to his Century and was out for 96. Still, what promise they both show, and just hoping they don't get pinched by the awful Hundred before Thursday - I have no idea whether Matt Renshaw will be fit.
  4. First win of the season and off the bottom.
  5. I’m not sure where exactly, but Tommy B’s name seems to be cropping up increasingly on this forum - in a very positive way.
  6. Lewis Goldsworthy just out LBW for 111, just two runs short of a 200 run stand with James Rew (currently on 96 NO). I know the 50 over competition has now been given almost reserve team status, but it is good to see our youngsters doing well. Such a shame, James Rew just gone for 96.
  7. That would explain it. I was surprised to read about ‘sleet/snow’, as my recollection was of driving along quiet roads in the countryside in lovely winter sunshine, but I avoided The M25 and went via Milton Keynes.
  8. Was that back in the early 1990s, lost 2-1? I drove there myself, but left very early and, as far as I recall, had a very smooth drive. I also spent a very enjoyable evening in Norwich town centre.
  9. Norwich always used to be a bit of a bugger for us when it concerned promotion. I am not sure whether it was the same Easter weekend to which you referred, but there was one when we were right in the mix, but lost (or perhaps drew one) to both Norwich and Southampton.
  10. I have suggested previously (without being in any way ITK) that if Han-Noah is considering returning to France it is more likely than not due to personal/family reasons, rather than pure football or financial reasons. I imagine his younger sisters, over here studying if I understand correctly, would like to return and get to know the country of their birth, and I assume a combination of higher education/work is a strong pull. Perhaps, understandably at his tender age, he has some trepidation about living alone, without family support, in a foreign country. Still, for many reasons, I hope he stays here and signs a new contract, even if it is only for two or three years.
  11. Ha! I made reference to that in the Wigan match day thread, and one helpful poster provided a link to the incident. I didn’t have the heart to respond that I was well aware of it and was just making a sarcastic comment. From memory, DW was forever mentioning it when he was involved in that racist controversy.
  12. Wow! That is a new (to me) and surprising element and, presumably, one of the reasons the CPS are persevering with the case. I must say, cynic that I am, I had assumed that, after so many postponements/adjournments the case was going to die a quiet death.
  13. It was, indeed, sad, as he was an extremely talented young player, who I thought would go very far in the game. He used to have a big fan on here (big or fat Dave or something similar) but I don’t see him post now, unless he has changed his name.
  14. Many years ago, I read an article where one famous player - something in the back of my mind tells me it may even have been Bobby Charlton - suggested that, just before matches in near freezing weather, the players would all be given a glass of brandy!
  15. A very promising young player and, if he perseveres and heeds the advice of his manager(s) and fellow, senior professionals, he should go far. Re. the comparison to Vardy, I hope he receives some sound advice concerning his choice of personal partner.
  16. I have never heard that, but, Wow; haven’t things changed? When I was younger, and it looked as if an injured player might require a stretcher, we used to chant ‘Bring on a dustbin!’. This is an entirely new level.
  17. I thought that, according to you, this was already sorted. I may be mistaken, but, if I recall correctly, you 'revealed' a week or so ago that Semenyo was 'definitely off', his injury whilst playing for Ghana was faked, his alleged 'injury' was supported by a duplicitous Ghana team medical spokesman in cahoots with a fraudulent local journalist and he was merely being wrapped up in cotton 'wall' before leaving for a princely sum this transfer window. I guess we shall find out during the next few weeks whether your fanciful story was true....
  18. I was, but the site I looked at only went back to July 2020. https://www.football-lineups.com/referee/2312/ And the only reason you remember that game is because a certain Cauley Woodrow scored a last gasp equaliser for Barnsley ?.
  19. I've just looked it up, and it would seem he has reffed us three times, all three in the 2020/21 season. The away match was Birmingham (we won 3-0), and the two home matches were Norwich (1-3) and Cardiff (0-2). I suspect it was the Cardiff match in which he was poor, although it may well have been all three.
  20. He is an Australian, who came over here a few years ago in a blaze of publicity having featured in an Australian match in which he was fully miked up and the (television) audience were able to hear his conversations with his linesmen and players alike. I saw some highlights and, to be fair, he performed quite well and the programme itself was very interesting. Unfortunately, he reffed at Ashton Gate a few seasons ago, I forget against who, and he was quite poor.
  21. Or even Nicky, as one of SKY’s co-commentators insisted on calling him today.
  22. I am very much an infrequent and casual boxing fan, but I consider AJ well on top and predict him to win - probably on points, but I am hoping for a stoppage.
