I grew up next to AG in the 70s and 80s and we used to have a Sunday Market in the car park behind the Williams stand. It was like the Fruit Market but smaller so you get most things. Fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat and cheese.

These were the days before Sunday opening and supermarkets everywhere so to be able to get everything you needed for the Sunday Roast on a Sunday was new.

I'd love to see something similar and that would rival the one at the Tabacco Factory (can't go there as the land is Ferguson's).

I really miss the old market on a Sunday at AG. Used to go down there with the parents and my kid brother, buy a load of crap and then up to the supporters bar (in the Williams in them days iirc) for a glass of squash and running up and down the skittle alley. Happy days...

I wouldn't say the Chelsea team was reserves. World cup winners, £33 million strikers, a couple of youths who are in and around the first team yes but still very strong.

Started Fabregas and JT and Hazard came on about 10 minutes from the end...

I was shocked that all happened to be fair. Thought it would have been Rovers v Chelsea U21s.

Either which way if the OP is on a wind up or not....this interview is Gold.

The owner of the Blue few admits he is a Chelsea fan, then goes on to say "it will be a tacticians battle" as he compares Antonio Conte with Darrell the Dope; that way around.

    No, seriously, he does.

"I've had so many phone calls. I have so many connections with people at Chelsea..."

Who did Chelsea loan Tammy to in order to gain match experience etc?

    Oh yeah. :city:

Doesnt work like that, rolling contracts never have a set end/start date, you always have a year left from whatever day they want rid of you.

Ah. I see. I assumed it was a rolling contract that was resigned every 12 months. Apologies for my moment of stupidity.

  5. Question.

DC is on a 12 month rolling contract. When does that run out? Because surely that is season to season so he'd be out of contract now?

So why the hell have rovers 'set conditions' if he's out of contract? Surely he can talk to whoever the **** he wants?

  6. Morning all from the south side of the river... contemplating sticking a load in the washing machine and doing a sun dance if I put it out on the line. Met office says highs of 13°c but still looks like it'll piss down...

Sainsbury's as our new shirt sponsor? Go on Steve no harm in asking!

How long do we have left with RSG?

Quite fancy a national supermarket chain sponsor and an orange away kit...

What are you on about. Look around. fair play not selling the Ashton Gate name, but it is a way to create revenue for the club to spend and you know full well the cost of football as your own owner has financed plenty. That Carling Ateyo bloke you had was a good player wasnt he, or is that a great way to honour him when you have a billionaire sticking a cheap lager before his name?

As for not having a heart, i would argue we had plenty giving we were homeless for 20 years and survived and even out peformed you lot when we had even less than no pot to piss in

Not being funny fella but don't you have an enclosure or summat sponsored by dribuild and another by the Bristol Post?

Next year's published accounts will be interesting

Are accounts published following the start of the tax year? ie if we are going to see this year's accounts, they'll be published in 2017 as the tax year is always a year behind?

    Good morning all.

I have to reluctantly withdraw from tomorrow's match day thread. I shall be out in the Boondocks and likely far away from any semblance of a decent internet connection. Ipswich will come and retreat with their tails between their legs and I will be back for the next one.

Here is the opportunity for the larger than life Big Tone to step forward and show us all he can do more than just one liner summaries. Goorrrn Tone I know you can. Put your back into it lad!

In the event Yoshi reads this please put me down for a 2-2 draw.. i thought we might lose but the Tractors have a number of injuries and i think we might hold our own but not have enough to benefit from the so called new manager bump.

    Kodjia and Tomlin to score.

Good luck to Lee Johnson though and I hope I am proved wrong in a positive way, obviously.

Thanks folks and enjoy the match day experience in this our new Johnson era.

    Hasta pronto.

    :)

Will tag @RedYoshi so he sees this Hav. Also, no offence to BigTone (I'm sure his official thread will be exemplary) but I thought the hedgehog loving, Horfield dwelling Aizoon was the super sub for match day threads?

  10. I watched it and was genuinely surprised at the quickness of the result.

Liked the comment from Haye that apparently if he works his way up the rankings towards Fury, Fury will relinquish the belt rather than fight DH.

Think a fight or two more and then DH will take on AJ...
