  1. Sounds like this specimen has found a half full bottle whilst rummaging in his favourite bin and trundled along to his favourite park bench to consume it. Obviously too much alcohol for such a wet brain to cope with.
  2. Has he fallen out with LJ then? Be interesting to see how the sags squirm and ignore his City history.
  3. No thanks, they can fu5k off and die. We would've stagnated or regressed so much if we had to play that shower again in the league. They are everything that is wrong about this city from that stolen tented 5hithole they call a ground to that Argyle dirge the lemmings drone out or to the family club employing an outright thug and turning a blind eye to every controversial thing he says or does. I wouldn't care less if we never play them again.
  4. Well, when things start to go t!ts up they can role out those lovely Matty Taylor songs the family club love to sing when he's in town
  5. Our "signings" in January will be TGH (already agreed) and a forward from Oxford. Watch BT, our DOF (or should that be DUFF) then come out of the woodwork to heap praise on the "club" (meaning himself)
  6. In today's world, I really don't know why anybody should be mentioning this. What has the colour of his skin tone got to do with him being any good as a referee? Nothing.
  7. If you carry on the main road beyond the ground you go down a hill and there should be plenty of parking in the industrial estates. Never had a problem parking at Watford.
  8. I thought, in all my years supporting this club, we had finally got the experienced team together. The missing pieces to propel us forward. Richard Gould was excellent, Phil Alexander, his replacement, came with good experience in doing a similar job with Crystal Palace. For me it was the structure the club employed, like Dave Rennie and Jason Euell. Forget players, Rennie, with all of his experience and knowhow was arguably our best signing at the time. Then there was Nigel Pearson who had all of the managerial experience and knowledge we needed. The hierarchy could sit back and concentrate on other matters. All this has now suddenly gone with no real reason why and a complete disregard or acknowledgement to the work Pearson put in and we have gone back to a failed ex manager who seems to be doing some sort of vague multiple job rolls from chief exec to scouting. We have an uneasy reluctant chairman who looks so uncomfortable in his role like a man with an ill fitting shirt. We have a new inexperienced coach at this level who's not going to rock the boat. I am not really sure what the Lansdown's want as leaving the experienced team in charge to manage the football operation side of the club would allow them to concentrate more on the development of the sporting quarter and leave junior to design the next home and away shirts, which is about the only thing he enjoys. I think someone with fresh impetus is required as its been proven at other clubs like Brighton. Even Swiss Tony is still getting a tune out of Ipswich. What worries me is the continual negative fallout from Pearson's exit. Its all very strange and football people will know what sort of people run this club and will hamper us in the future unless they sell up.
  9. Det är inget fel med din engelska, och du är inte en dum svensk! Fortsätt!
  10. I've said it before, money is ruining football. The alleged financial irregularities of some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and the possibility of sanctions [removal of titles/cups even relegation] will just push this on further. World cups played in country's with little or no footballing infrastructure & questionable human rights issues where money smooths the wheels of commerce just shows how low the game has fallen. There is so much wrong with the game I fear it will implode. It will become less of a spectacle & people will simply switch off as the game becomes more and more alienated and distanced from the fans.
  11. With all due respect fella, I think you've missed the trick with Nigel Pearson, as has the club [sadly] There are a lot of fans who think the same way hence all of the continued interest. Most managers/coaches run their course and get the inevitable parting of the ways, its part of football management. With Pearson he got rid of the high earners, steadied the ship and given the meagre budget he had, had made us competitive and looking to reach the net step. There was a feeling that we were on the cusp of something better, who knows. Now we are starting again, yes; we all have to move on but here we are, still in the same position but with a vastly less experienced coach yet the club still have the same aspirations. The proof will be if the new coach is given a lot more funding for player recruitment come the January transfer window. The communication from the club has been extremely poor with no real indication of why we jumped ship mid season and this is why there is still a lot of interest in Nigel Pearson.
  12. As a head coach he probably won't have the same autonomy as he had at Plymouth so straightaway that is a big hurdle to overcome. The differences between us and Stoke is that the hierarchy at Stoke know how to achieve success and have done so whereas ours don't. The 2008 season showed everybody the difference between the clubs.
  13. I can't agree with you there pal. He wins a lot of headers which is mainly down to his good timing. He reads the game better than some of our younger talent and is prepared to put in a shift for the team.
  14. What strikes me is the vast differences between the two sides. I think Sunderland are playing the way Manning wants us to play, but what a gulf between the two sides. Not so long ago they were a basket case, now, with some prudent recruitment they are definitely looking upward. Closing down, powerful, pacey & tricky out wide with some really good athletes in the midfield. Even the right back had a trick and was confident and on the front foot. Contrast to our team where we had players isolated, not quick enough and lack of movement or kept turning backwards and sideways which inevitably brings on the opposition press. It was the stark difference that struck me. Why should another Championship team make vast inroads whilst we are just poodling along. For me, this shows a lack of direction and that comes from the top. A win is a win but I've seen it too many times before where we've scuffed wins to paper over the cracks and then have come a cropper.
  15. Its very easy to "bin" players off. In fairness to Cornick he's usually brought on as an impact sub which is not his favoured position. I think he makes a difference when he does come on. I would like to see him given a start up front instead of Conway. Like most of our strikers they need to play in partnerships. Conway is less effective as a lone striker, same as Bell and Cornick. I don't think that the system we play at the moment benefits the striker position or what we have as a striker & as far as I am aware Semenyo doesn't play for us any more. That should be a question for the head coach to sort out. I am surprised others haven't questioned how we set up.

I was pleased to see he started. He's got a few tricks and can go past players. He played really well first half but looked out on his feet both pysically and mentally at 50 minutes and was fast becoming a liabilty. It was clear then that Manning should've taken him off & not wait a further 10 - 15 minutes.
  17. Three points is three points. That's all that matters. Sunderland are a really good side and play in a style that I think Manning wants us to play. I am really pleased for Liam to get the win as it takes some of the pressure off him, however a couple of things I noticed which was a concern, he took 10 minutes too long in deciding to change the team when they were way out on top and as much as he deserves to fist pump the fans to celebrate the win, he should also be there when we lose.
  18. As others have said we have heard this type of "coaching" talk before so its frankly, a bit of a yawn fest to here from someone wwho's far less experienced at it. Its like teaching a granny to suck eggs. We had quite the opposite with Nige. In fact he made it quite entertaining with his brutal reposte when asked a banal question. If I was Manning I would focus less on the coaching spiel (we've all had enough of that) and concentrate on what drives him or what he likes to see in his players. He obviously rates Sykes and Knight which is great to hear. This would endear him more to fans. In fairness to him, there are a lot of players out injured so that must be equally frustrating for him, not having the opportunity to work with and vary his methods but just as equally frustrating as not playing TGH from a fans perspective. I watched his Sunderland presser last night but in the background I could hear a faint bleeping noise, it was my imaginary bull5hit detector going off. Granted, a little less louder than recent times but still there.
  19. The word you're looking for is tinpot.
  20. It strikes me [& I'm not "in the know"] that Nige told the club where to stick it, so, although they were looking to relieve him of his duties, they had to bring forward their plans. Hence why everything is undercooked at the moment. The Championship is a massive step up from League 1. It must be one of the most competitive leagues in the world with the imbalance of parachute payments to also contend with and the promise of premier league money at the end of it. Realistically, can we limp to the next transfer window and with the next Scott money instalment start to get those "possession based" players & a striker in? I think its a tall order. As Pearson was such a strong personality, he had a fantastic rapport with the players and fans. Now we have someone who seems less assured, so you have to question his rapport with the players. Will he get the same out of them as Pearson did? I rather think not. I'm looking at James & Williams as examples, who have played under strong & experienced management types & for bigger clubs, will they be as enthusiastic with a coach who has a lot less experience than them? I must confess to being very disillusioned and probably alienated with everything associated with the club. I find myself listening less to Manning's interviews as he trots out the same coaching speak. There has been a lot of damage done with this change of coach and without an upsurge of form, will ultimately affect season ticket renewals.
  21. That is simply not going to happen. Bernard's already tinkering with the squad, playing players out of position. He's even reluctant to play our player of the month, TGH. Work that one out! Our form is poor and contrast this with the top six black cats. We are a clueless rudderless ship that was gradually moving forward but now's changed direction and is going nowhere. In fact we are now going backwards at a pace and that momentum is gathering pace.

What we need and what we'll end up with are two different ends of the spectrum. Without being "in the know" I would expect a few League 1 Oxford players to get bums on seats
  23. I think he's believing his own hype with the International call up. I just can't see what he gives the team. I've said it before, under Pearson's pacey counter attacking style, that suits Sam Bell. Manning's posession based style negates this and shows up his lack of technical close ball control ability which is needed to play this way. With his game he runs off the shoulder and is generally a good finisher. With his back to goal he offers nothing.
  24. We've sold £53M of talent to Bournemouth alone, yet here we are, still a mid table Championship side. We were a mid table side lacking investment under the experienced Pearson before. We are still that same side under the inexperienced Manning. I haven't seen much improvement other than going from side to side in "possession based" football which generally goes nowhere without an end product. Is it exciting? Well, at the moment, no it isn't.
