  1. Having run the line for my son's youth team and endured abuse in various forms, I really wonder why any referees do this job and not because of the small fees they get. Without the people to carry out these tasks at grass root level there would be no football. It all comes down to respect, but that starts at the top and if you see the top professionals / managers questioning the officials then we have no hope. Look at rugby & American Football as examples. We can learn so much from how they officiate games.
  2. 14 out of 15. Never went to Belle Vue!!!
  3. I recall he had that much publicised Cheltenham races incident which didn't go down too well with our owners. We also had Mark Little at RB and Flint at CB, Korey, Wade & Marlon in midfield. Everyone knew he was a good player but nobody could decide on his best position. He's also a big Leeds fan so it suited all parties apart from the fee. That story is a little slanted and rose tinted.
  4. As much as it seems justified, for me it just goes to show how football finances are absolutely ruining the game. If Man City, as an example, are found to be be in breach then presumably they are stripped of their titles/Champions League win? Does this mean that Arsenal or whoever are beaten finalists or runners up are retrospective champions & what a hollow feeling that would be for all concerned. It would be a complete and utter shambles.
  5. After Rotherham, which is a tidy little club, a Championship club, going to tinpot rovers won't look good on his CV.
  6. Its really too early to give any judgement on the new head coach. I think its fair to say that the majority of fans still feel a little bewildered with the need to change the manager. Let's see after ten games.
  7. Astounded that TGH isn't starting! MOM last week. We will miss his creativity in midfield.
  8. I avoid a well known German car maker because of the tacky badge. In fact, I was looking after one a few years back and was driving around with brown tape covering the badge in the middle of the steering wheel.
  9. Good luck for the future Curtis.
  10. I wouldn't read too much into his first interviews, blimey, he's been here less than half a day! Give the bloke a break!
  11. Don't let it get to you friend. New posters and your views are always welcome.
  12. I'm afraid its all part of the football food chain. We're higher up than them and although galling for them at the moment, its equally galling for us to see so much Bristol City talent ending up at Bournemouth. If they're worried about their next manager they have every right to be especially with a certain barton63754 looking.
  13. We have a good enough squad and we're going for promotion
  14. There's only one team in Bristol
  15. There's a Greek outsider in the reckoning Nigelos Pearsonos
  16. What a strange place to have your picture taken, outside a public convenience
  17. I'd rather have a half a bag of cement than the odious Davros
  18. Strap yourselves in, there's another 5 weeks of constructive and meaningful discussions to be had before appointing Curtis Fleming or Cisse ( whichever is the cheaper option & whoever rocks the boat the least)

    TGH

My MOM today. Kept the midfield ticking over. Always looking to get on the front foot. Closely followed by Rob Dickie. I thought he was immense today and popped up with the goal.
  20. I saw him this morning in Bemmy getting some chewing bacci, henny & bennys and a flagon of sherry. Obviously setting himself up for a long meeting with the board later.
  21. He needn't have sent the messages. I suspect most ex managers wouldn't. It just underlines his integrity and at the same time highlights the lack of it with our owners. I'm afraid it looks like he was asked to do a clear the decks job which they were quite happy for him to carry out. He was asked to come up with a strategy with and without Scott, which he did. He's carried out his part whereas it looks like they've moved the goalposts. As time moves on although we can never know exactly what went on but I think we all can make an educated guess. Its times like this when really it's best to come clean and take responsibility and hold your hands up if you're found out to be in the wrong. There is so much wrong with football and its ironic that here, we had a manager who told it as it is, had all the experience, wasn't phased or had ideas distorted by financial pressures, he did simply what he was instructed and all he expected in return was the same. He simply was honest. How on earth is the new manager or head coach going to follow with this? I am glad he sent the messages because it shows that he can feel the depth of support and the feelings of the fan base. Thank you for all that you've done for our club. Make a speedy recovery and good luck in the future Nige, all of the Bristol City fan base will miss you.
