Correct, after 60 mins but we were 3.0 down already. I believe Damion Stewart also saw red for us towards the end, another debutant. The Ipswich 0.3 the following year was worse! Chopra robbed James at his feet I recall to score! Our opening day performances are genuinely poor, one of the best was a 2.0 win at Wrexham with Alan Miller in goal! Danny’s first game, seem to recall a Thorpe hat trick  at Sixfields too!

Oh yes remember the 3/0 at Northampton, those were the days.

When we stop bobbing around in mid table for another 5 years and eventually leave this division, those glory days could return.

It was dire! One effort from Bell which should have been a goal, but aside from that countless misplaced passes, no atmosphere. Honestly in the context of pre season optimism as a fan base it couldn’t have been worse. Let’s hope we see a few players back soon and Scott plays at Millwall.

Speaking of Millwall Saturday was so much worse than the last time we played them on the first game of the season.

2010, Crowd up for it and, well you know the rest.

Equally Notts County (apart from some former City staff connections) so both the big boys from National League last season struggling

Seem to remember Yeovil coming up years ago and being touted as the side to walk the league.

Think they got beat something like 7/3 in their first game, and got promoted. Wouldn't cast them as struggling just yet.

If others write to explain no signal  maybe they'll realise it isn't just me complaining all the time.

Whether or not Radio Brizz switched on or off the isdn/web link isn't the issue. Someone at streamamg should be monitoring it or even someone in the media. I've suggested this a few times but they're obviously too busy or important to respond.

Working for me now but with TV comentry.

IMO Pearson has been upfront regarding signing information with the supporters, since he’s been here. We might sign a couple, but I have no reason to doubt it

Yeah agree with that Pearson is as straight as they come, but don't think he would come on air and say should Scott leave this is the plan.

This is something I know the coaches and Rennie have been working on specifically.

As for the Bell / Mehmeti debate, I was just chatting (DM’ing) to @Graham c about this.  Bell is great when we are knocking balls over / inside the full-back, but the rest of his game isn’t very mature…he is a bit one-dimensional.  Mehmeti contributes to patterns much more than Bell but is a bit inconsistent with his product.

It’s a good problem for Nige.  Opponents style,  defensive line, home or away might play into selection more for these two than anyone other selections.

Love the look of Mehmeti, got all the skills but seems so keen to impress and become a real team player.

Two or three times he seemed to go against his instinct against Cheltenham when facing up his full back.

Instead of taking him on played the short pass or created an angle and clipped the ball in. not always the best but if he can learn when to turn the defender he's gona be a real player.

So with Atkinson (February) & Benarous (last December) being injured a long time ago, the only 2 potentially missing as a result of pre season are McCrorie & Naismith.

As for the side I would be very surprised if the front three isn’t Sykes, Conway & Bell, which is slightly harsh on Nakhi & provided Scott is still here next weekend the rest literally does pick itself.

Think it's a toss up between Wells and Conway.  are you thinking Pring over Roberts?

My contribution earlier in this thread said that organisations have to bear in mind the costs of handling cash, amongst other reasons.  Some of these organisations have moved away from it and have gone card / online only.  That’s their choice.  They also need to understand the impacts of their strategy if it’s reliant on technology and it fails.

You’re the one who dragged the thread off onto a data, IT, controlling us / what we do, narrative.

I just thought that a strange direction to take this thread in relation to Swansea’s commercial decision to no longer take cash.

If you think I’ve made myself look a right idiot, so be it.  I’ll get over it.

Have an opinion? Yep.  Like discussing football?  Yep

Self-proclaimed King of OTIB? Really?  Don’t think so.

Anyway boys going to the game tomorrow, cash in my back pocket and the card in reserve.

The Mrs will say for the 1.000th time " Make sure you don't lose it".

People used that excuse when cash machines were introduced. Access to easy money, easy to go into debt. Sorry but it's up to the individual to keep tabs of their own finances.

Yeah that's fair but i  hate the card only. Went to a funeral and wake on Tuesday and spent on my card twice what i would have if it was cash in my pocket.

No doubt Sir Geoff you would have controlled your spending better than me.

They've just moved back to Cat 1 for their academy and the costs that come with it so can't be in too much trouble

As for the cancellation you'd have thought City might have just told them to bring whatever squad they had bolstered by their best 21's and we could have put out an appropriate squad (18's replacing some 21's at Bath) you get a decent game for some still as you could still play the likes of Bell, Tanner etc in that and then give the other players missing out a tough match equivalent work out.

I am surprised that many on here are seeing Tanner as mainly being a squad player this coming season.

I know many see McCrorie starting as right back Tanner looks up for it to me.

Seems a bit odd on the timings.
Vince has previously said he’s committed to Ferguson’s 5 year contract!!
But there’s been a lot of change at FGR since his appointment.
Steve Grieve was the DoF and he left in March.
James Mooney was the COO and he left in May.
Terry McPhilliips came in as the new Chief Scout. I’m 100% sure this was a Ferguson appointment as McPhillips is a mate of Tony Grant (Ferguson’s assistant).
That suggested to me that they were still “all in” on Ferguson. As he was being allowed to bring in his own recruitment staff.
Then, a new CEO arrives from New Zealand and a new DoF from Brentford.
I think these 2 new figures have very differing views to Duncan’s and I think something must have happened behind the scenes in the last day or two to force their hand. Possibly a difference of opinion on recruitment I’d guess. I’d imagine, if they haven’t already, that Grant and McPhillips will also be leaving, as Dunc brought them both in.

And so, for the 3rd time in a year, it’s back to the drawing board for FGR.
I really enjoyed watching that L2 promotion team, a little over 14 months ago and now it’s all gone to pot!

And their current squad will struggle in L2. They need a new manager and a new recruitment plan asap!

Yeah going to be tough next season unless the right manager comes in.

I know 3 season ticket holders from last season who are all not renewing. None of them can stand Vince.

They`ve certainly been a thing for the thirty odd years I`ve lived down here - they play in Simmons Park.

Edit. Founded in 1929 according to Wiki

More of a Rugby town really, unlike their neighbours Chagford.

Small Village side that went from South Devon league into the County League in the year of it's conception.

Lasted 2 years then it went tits up.Play in the Devon and Exeter leagues i think now.

Have to say their pitch was the best surface i ever played on being on the Moor anytime of the season it was perfect.

  14. Anyway back to Scott.

It's looking more hopeful to me that we might yet get to watch him for another season.

I don't see any of the top 8 in for him at this time, maybe West Ham or Wolves coming in with bids but not matching our value. Don't see him going to the likes of Bournemouth even if they make a bid we would accept.

Scott seems a switched on lad with total confidence in his own ability that he could stay another season improve and get the move he would deserve the next season.

    Just my take on it.
