Me too. Relegation from the top flight coincided with me leaving school, getting a job, learning to drive so for the first time in my life I was able to go to all the city games at home and some away.
That of course coincided in us being the first club to go from top to bottom in consecutive seasons and go bust on the way.

Yrs it was my school leaving time too. No car for years but could get local coach to home games and started my away travel days with Beryl's traveling cats.

This kind of proves how long ago it was, we’ve forgotten how long we were there.

Having just read The Four Seasons book I can assure you it was four.

Imagine having 4 seasons up there starting next season, what it’d do for the city not just the club.

Thank you Ralph  was watching the 4 season slide back to div. 4 which will always haunt me mind.

Not a chance. Why would LJ leave Sunderland unless he was pushed, which is possible but not right now.

As for DH, assistant manager at Stoke could be working in the EPL next season.

Would be hugely surprised if either would want to work for Swiss Tony again in any case.

It was just a thought. I do not see either LJ or DH leaving where they are now. But funny game football ☺️

  5. I am.now 59 been going to the gate since I was 12. Was great to watch  those three seasons in the top of flight. Do I expect to see us reach the premier? I hope so but am really not sure. Hey what will happen will happen. Just enjoy the journey ?

There's no way we can compete with the new White Hart Lanes of this World, but given a decent vision, we should be able to create our own massive single tiered stand behind the Atyeo if the club aimed high.

The last thing I personally want to see is a replica of the South Stand at the Atyeo end. That's too much uniform/mechano set style of architecture. We should aim BIG and make it an end to be feared.

And stuff the away fans top tier of wiliams

Sorry..cannot agree there..........they were musicians and songwriters, and not chipmunks with electronic keyboards, who were covering other's songs?  Off you go and listen to your Ed Sheeran masterpieces?

Ed Sheeran is a talentless **** who only has success due to the fact modem musicians can not write any thing original. And the general public are fed bullshit and crap to feed on.

    Just my opinion of course

Watching the game yesterday there were a couple of times that Vyner stepped away from his man to enable them to attack. That (and the fact that he seemingly watched as much of the game as I did at times) suggests that he no longer has any interest in being here.....thoughts?

I really think that he is interested and does have his heart in the club. But he too often gets caught out of position or has the ball and just does not know what to do with it. I like him but I really feel a Div. 1 player.

Re bold bit…You’re probably right, but that’s the whole point of a squad at this level, they don’t all be the same.  Even Liverpool and Man City don’t look as good without certain players. But as it stands, since he’s come back into the team v Barnsley, he’s played a part in getting 10 points from 7 games, so at least played a part in our better results.

Yes I have slatted Bakinson lots . But thought past two home games he was decent and helped the team. I was unable to go today so can not comment on his performance today . I just wonder if his team orders maybe just does not allow his preferred game style to flourish and he struggles with that. Because even bring kind to him he is not in the side with a fully fit midfield of the squad

In fairness to the original moan, I think both Weimann and Martin (and Vyner) had numerous irritating moments where they got their touch or pass or shot wrong.

But do the three mentioned not do that  every game

  14. We seem to have plenty of midfield players. But our first choice picks are seldom fit. So we seem to be holding the midfield together with sellotape. Which then gives front line no supply and then does no defensive support to defense. So we all at sea from kick off each game. Other than when Williams is fit and can play and we look ok.

I really think the rest of the season is not going to be a good watch

Derby were paying Tom Ince's Mum to be an "agent" is one example of how.

    I would suggest.

£700,000 paid to 'Claire Ince Promotions'

The Championship outfit believe Rush overpaid on agents’ fees, transfer fees and approved 10 ‘sham’ scouting agreements, one of which was to do with Ince.

Derby paid a club record fee to sign Ince from Hull City and, according to Derby, an additional £700,000 payment to Tom Ince’s mother and Paul Ince’s wife, Claire Ince.

The payment was named the ‘Ince Scouting Agreement’ and was paid to ‘Claire Ince Promotions’.

    Right I confused.

What has claire Ince got to do with Tom inces mum. And what has tom inces mum got to do with with his contracts in football. It all seems very irregular to me
