  1. But also playing an almost free role, defending high up the pitch and getting forward into the opposition half.
  2. Well it was the drinks break to be fair. Good work from Sykes to set up the opener.
  3. It was where I lived, I didn't move, Somerset did and left me with one local team to support.
  4. No, I found it....... It's in the fiction section.
  5. WTF? Do people pay money towards this site?
  6. What was the final score V Swansea, I saw a few things that suggested different score lines. One said that it had been agreed that penalties didn't count
  7. I see someone has mentioned Harry Dolmans book, I really enjoyed that. Also for a light hearted look at the life of the true journeyman footballer, take a look at Lutz Pfannenstiel's The Unstoppable Keeper. He is the only man to have played on all six continents that soccer is played on, it's hilarious at times.
  8. This is all a nice distraction for those "in power" isn't it? I'm surprised it's not a question to the candidates, "How will you tackle the extreme heat, Rishi?"
  9. Pinta, Nina, Santa Maria - Vangelis
  10. My century Nerdle stats. The only ones I have got wrong really have been odd things like fractions aor minus figure answers.

  12. Based on? The fact we don't find them hip and trendy? They are successful artists from Liverpool, that was my criteria
  13. There have been lots that were underground "hits" like Brilliant Corners, Essential Bop, Kill it Kid, but it's a bit like sport in that there isn't the motivation to get out of a nice city to make the next step.

  15. No, you should consider what you are posting and the terms your opinion is couched in. It's a practice game, I e. A game for them to practice things in, if they solved the problem during the game that's great, if they don't then the coaches step in and discuss potential options for them to use next time. Your post erroneously suggests that because they couldn't solve this particular problem their careers to this point have been useless and that they will never make it in the game. That's your opinion, but don't get defensive when people disagree with it
  16. No no no, it's about proving you are the perfect player for your position in this team. If they aren't perfect by now then they will never learn and we will have to use our unlimited resources to replace them.
  17. You'd go down a storm on Love Island Dave, you smooth talking rogue....
  18. Is it? OK..... No I am perfectly sober and rereading it I see nothing wrong with it other than maybe a missing comma in the third paragraph, but thanks for you feedback.
  19. If I was Pearson I would be a little worried. Having said that he thinks that pre season games are purely about fitness and players getting to know each other, he now finds himself preparing for an away game where around 700 supporters are turning up presumably expecting a performance. If we don't get a positive result I am awaiting the "woe is me" type knee jerk reactions on here. We've already had a few from the Pompey game that clearly had no real value considering the fact the game length didn't match the rules of a normal game and the opposition ended up with a team that had half of our players playing for them. The Managements expectations don't seem to match up to those of the fans.
