  1. If we sell Kalas now we have signed Kal, does that mean we have saved 40% like for like?
  2. My first thought on seeing that list of positions played too. I am however incredibly worried about this signing. Who knew that all it took to unite this board in unprecedented positivity was the signing of a 30 year old Scot from Luton Town, the worry is that when we agree collectively we don't have a great record on Managers or players.
  3. You Stole the Sun From My Heart - Manic Street Preachers (Inspired by the set list posted on The Killers thread)
  4. @Davefevs clearly enjoys his sideline, I would always be wary about turning something you love into your daily grind though.
  5. Never mind all that, how tall is he?
  6. Yes. Not sure where @Never to the dark side got those odds. This is Skybets spread. https://m.skybet.com/football/sky-bet-championship/event/29301891 Also not sure how you can give odds before the play off final is completed.
  7. My wife and I were laughing at the local news because they appeared to have picked the shortest reporter they could find to interview Stephen Merchant. The angle she was having to look up at to talk to him made her look like a toddler in comparison.
  8. That looks like a bookies opening spread before any bets are placed. It looks to be based purely on league position, although what on earth they have seen in Hull City to place them in the top 10 is anybody's guess.
  9. 'Ark at the City fans on here demeaning a European Trophy win. ? They sound like the Gasheads who compare their results to ours in the Championship.
  10. Tammy too honest just now, or should referee have given something anyway? There is no reward for trying to stay on your feet is there?
  11. Quiet game for him so far apart from being cynically brought down when looking to break. Smalling looks to be in great form for Roma. Shame about Mkhitaryan going off early he's such a lovely player. Strangely underused by Mourinho at Man Utd but very much in favour in Roma.
  12. Alternatively if LJ was pictured rescuing a bag of kittens from the canal, there would be those on here who would say that the kittens were only there because he threw them in.
  13. I Second That Emotion - Smokey Robinson
  14. There is also an element of man management to this. He would probably have been worried about how the players would react if he were to say, "well I am doing my best with this lot, but they aren't the players I would have chosen to sign". I am sure Mr Wedlock would have been to quick use that as a further stick to beat him with.
  15. I was about to quote Half Man Half Biscuit from National Shite Day. " walked out onto the concourse and noticed the giant screen seemed to have been tampered with Probably by a junior employee Disgruntled commuters were being regaled with some dismal TVM Involving a tug-of-love custody battle Stockard Channing held sway"
  16. Yes. Anyone who saw LJ's reaction to the fans singing "sign him up" when the players were parading in front of the Atyeo last match of the season, would all have their doubts as to who's signing he really was.
  17. This Mess We're in - P J Harvey
  18. Pisa have reached the two legged play off finals to get out of Serie B, they got through the semi final even though the tie finished 1-1 based on their higher league position which seems a bit odd. Adam has played 29 of their 38 games and played in both of the recent games. The first leg is on the 26th May away to Monza, the 2nd leg is on the 29th.
  19. Who Killed Bambi? - Ten Pole Tudor (Well it always seemed the daftest of Punk songs to me)
  20. Still a long way behind Peter Hargreaves though, one could presumably estimate how much his support for sport in Bristol has cost him over the years.
  21. Woody and Dutch on a Slow Train to Peking - Rickie Lee Jones
  22. There are a couple of places in Europe where I believe you car insurance doesn't cover you, one which I have witnessed is circumnavigating the Arc De Triomphe which is incredible, how anybody gets off the circle is beyond me.
  23. Going back to Naples, it was common to see bike couriers carrying boxes that were bigger than their bike, on a couple of occasions more than one! I said to my wife that I was waiting to see a display team in pyramid formation making their way through the streets. i Used to have an old video of the centre of Sorrento where about 7 roads met at what was supposedly a roundabout (a metal pole in the middle of a large circle) in the video an old lady with a walking stick makes it from one side to the other in about 2 minutes, while cars, trucks and bikes race past her on every side. I wish I had it in a format I could post.
  24. Yes I know the story, but as it was already dealt with elsewhere I thought I would leave it there, but that's a good summary although there is more to it. I can't say where I got this from but, apparently during the away game at Cardiff when things were still raw, other Cardiff players were having to relay messages between them on the pitch. That must make for a good team spirit, although Cole and Sheringham managed to be quite successful in similar circumstances so who knows?
  25. There's a whole thread on their bust up somewhere, from last year. Something to do with Flint's break up with Packs Sister in Law? Heard similar gossip around here in Portishead too.
