Going back to Naples, it was common to see bike couriers carrying boxes that were bigger than their bike, on a couple of occasions more than one! I said to my wife that I was waiting to see a display team in pyramid formation making their way through the streets. i Used to have an old video of the centre of Sorrento where about 7 roads met at what was supposedly a roundabout (a metal pole in the middle of a large circle) in the video an old lady with a walking stick makes it from one side to the other in about 2 minutes, while cars, trucks and bikes race past her on every side. Yes I know the story, but as it was already dealt with elsewhere I thought I would leave it there, but that's a good summary although there is more to it. I can't say where I got this from but, apparently during the away game at Cardiff when things were still raw, other Cardiff players were having to relay messages between them on the pitch. That must make for a good team spirit, although Cole and Sheringham managed to be quite successful in similar circumstances so who knows?

Another point is the idea that getting a trophy or promotion is the only way to judge his performance is ridiculous. As @Harryhas shown, the only one of the teams he has Managed that would reasonably "expect" promotion is Sunderland, and it could be argued he was well on the way to achieving it when they hit the panic button. There are something like 600 Managers registered with the LMA, many of whom would be considered for jobs despite the majority probably never having "won" anything.

After hiring a car for a 5 day trip in the Naples Bay area, I tried to negotiate a discount when I got it back in one piece! The only accident I had was on the way back to the car hire company. We were following a car up a road which turned out be closed. The car in front started to do a U-turn and we followed, the driver was so bad that they couldn't complete the turn in one go, so they just reversed straight into me before driving casually off as if nothing had happened. Luckily they didn't leave a visible mark on the car.

To be honest, I could believe that, we were doing well at that time with a group of reasonable players, but not world beaters, I would imagine that Pep was interested in how you work within those limitations. He strikes me as that kind of person who would believe he can learn something everyday from any source. I also seem to remember that he thought that the rugby pitch markings were some sort of zonal additions we had put in, I think LJ put him right, but if it had been me I would have spun him a whole lot of bollocks about that. How many other jobs has he applied for? I don't know, do you?
