    Personally well past caring about them. Pearson said last year he treats them as little more than training exercises. All eyes on first game of the season, everything before that is really neither here nor there.

    Suspect this has nothing to do with our short term FFP position (as others have said - it can't) and is most likely about the bigger picture going forward in the medium/long term. Perhaps it's linked to Gregor's mystery interview!

    I think we'll discover that he's not really a defender though. Which is fine as most modern full backs aren't - his strengths lie in going forward i believe. Much the same as George Tanner. Pointing towards a back 3 formation surely.

    I know what you mean but you could argue Freeman needed a change of scene and a fresh start to get his mojo back. He'd lost the plot here.

    Roofe would have been the infinitely superior signing. Together with Reid and Patterson we could have played tippy tappy pass and move for fun, rather than just for a few months at the end of 2017. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, mind.
