  1. I see @RedM has liked a few of these posts
  2. Think you've misread the room - it's relief at getting rid of a massive millstone round our neck - fingers crossed!. A millstone we thought we were lumbered with for another 12 month and a perpetual reminder of all that was wrong about Ashton's tenure at our club. Yes we've still got other players he signed, expensive ones at that, but at least they're making a contribution.
  3. Whilst neither of us are god-fearing men, we might have to start believing in miracles if this transfer comes off.
  4. Has anyone offered to drive him there yet? I mean, I don't have a licence but am more than happy to give it a go.
  5. But he knows all that. In fact he has done since the day he joined the Board, when we were a loss making League 1 side never mind a Championship one. Didn't stop him deciding to accept the position of Chairman or deciding to increase his stake to that of majority shareholder. He's had his eyes wide open all along.
  6. I don't think Pearson is in the habit of letting quality players like Kalas walk out the door. Imo, whilst he wants more wage equality across the squad, his preference is for Kalas to stay and the wage equality to be achieved by him signing an extension to the 1 year he's got left but on reduced terms. Whether or not we've got value for money so far out of Kalas is open to debate, we probably haven't, but going forward the player agreeing a longer contract on reduced terms would improve that situation.
  7. They won the FA Cup in 1959 - Elton John's cousin scored one of their goals. True! Johnny Quigley - who played for us between 66 & 68 - also played in that game. Up until then, they'd been considered the junior partner in Nottingham.
  8. Is this a whoosh? Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth, Bolton, Ipswich, Plymouth - all in the division below - Bradford are 2 divisions below. All should be Championship clubs and, personally, I can't say the same for Blackpool, Luton, Millwall or Rotherham.
  9. Not you mate, the other AD. The lesser AD ?
  10. Yes, it's amazing what a good dose of self-pity and a chip on both shoulders can do for the atmosphere amongst one's supporters. Plus the odd League title. Or two. And a European title. Or two. In contrast, we Bristolians do not do self pity, more like meh, shrug shoulders, whatever. As for titles, I'm not sure the JPT comes into it. Which means we have precious little to make an atmosphere about.
  11. Full time: Everton 1 Liverpool 0 The better manager wins, playing inferior boring football. The beautiful game indeed Some bloke that Ancelotti.
  12. Exactly right and which is why he's not an England regular. Too many of Liverpool's attacking players are - so far - below par: the full backs, Salah, Mane. They can't win if that lot are off their game. Not against an opponent drilled by a tactical maestro. Unlike the ref, who's been brilliant and allowed a game of football to break out.
  13. You're right, of course But Kal Naismith wouldn't have a clue if Luton got to the 1959 FA cup final or not. Wouldn't have a clue who Ricky Hill is nor Brian Stein nor David Moss nor Steve bloody Foster nor Mal McDonagh. Or even the convicted kerb crawler David Pleat. In short, Luton Town mean shit to Kal Naismith - when offered better terms by Bristol City.
  14. Yes - but terrible at time keeping. In contrast, supporters of the fascist club are well punctual - General Franco, it would seem, gets football supporters to arrive on time, much like Mussolini and his trains.
  15. What we know for certain so far: 1. Massive game in a cup competition 2. Liverpool FC are playing 3. Crowd problems Why on earth would anyone draw any conclusions from any of that? Anyway, here comes the pre-match "entertainment".
  16. There's only so long you can spend slagging off Luton Town FC of a Saturday, so this game needs to kick off asabloodyp.
  17. Tbf, they picked a picture of the Memorial Ground first but, after they'd stopped pissing their pants with laughter, decided it couldn't possibly be a football stadium - so used one of The Gate instead.
  18. Staying off OTIB would be a good start - people lose their sh!t over sweet fa this time of year. As for Nevil Road, same old same old innit
  19. Yeah, looks like it's gonna be a long close season, doesn't it
  20. I suspect he thought he could be successful here, despite the compromises and drawbacks involved - the CEO being the major one. "I could write a book about some of the things that have gone on" is, pretty much, the verbatim quote he gave to supporters at one point. I think we can make an educated guess as to what he was referring to.
